Takes some balls to get thru those hurricanes. We just had a burst of high winds from a storm that made the backyard trees make cracking sounds. My heart was racing thinking of a tree coming down on the house.
I live in the Midwest and feel like I’ve seen that formation at least a dozen times this summer. It’s a bad storm, yes. Seek shelter but don’t freak out.
Looks like a tornado. Yes, they happen. No, it's not uncommon. No, it's not climate change. No, it's not the sign of God wiping us all off the face of planet. Yes, it's dangerous and you should be smart enough to listen to advice to get to basements and not try and drive through it to record a TikTok.
Know your weather, be smart. Take care of yourself and yours!
Midwesterner here, what you have there is a "wall cloud," and the potential for a tornado. Take care, and seek shelter if there is any rotation. Listen to your national and local weather reports for instruction.
Aripeka isn’t gna have a leg to stand on after this one. Y’all keep my little village and the 30 to 50 family’s that reside here in your thoughts and prayers. It’s not looking good.
Boring compared to making it something clandestine, but this is a natural phenomenon. If I lived there I'd be freaking out, natural or not. Thank God where I am we just have monsoons, but still very high winds and microbursts that can be alarming.
Also called a 'wall cloud.' It is caused by the downward and forward movement of air from a severe (most times, rotating) thunderstorm cell. Looks scary, but more common than you might imagine.
Yes. That is normal. Hurricane Party! Buy booze and water and ride it out in style. The best parties are hurricane parties. Play some Jimmy Buffett. Hope your not in a mobile home or live on a boat. I used to surf the off shore tropical storms in my 20s on the gulf coast. It's amazing I made it to my 40s.
Oh that’s what all this spraying up in the skys has been about the past few days up there east coast. Literally looking at the veil right now,
Huge horizontal divide between blue and massive grey veil. Just so happens the veil rests to the east where the sun has risen and west is completely blue. Can clearly see all the “contrail” stripes making up the veil.
Somewhere, a Florida pede is making preparations for his Fuck Joe Biden chant, with a flag, in the middle of the storm. We salute you, Fuck-Joe-Biden-Chanting-With-A-Flag-In-The-Middle-Of-A-Hurricane Man!
but karine jean-pierre said the inflation reduction act would stop hurricanes this year
hurricanes aren't real ... they're just a manufactured cloud to take control of womens' bodies.
And they're racist.
Hurricane Ian Does Not Care About Black Pepos
Black Clouds Matter! HOW DARE YOU!

If my rv is destroyed then, can i park my new one on her lawn? And dress up like cousin eddy everyday

I'm from the government and I'm here to help!
We can laugh, but pray for the good citizens there.
Lol 😂
And the resident said we if we’re in the path of the hurricane that we should get vaccinated!
is that the buckwhat looking lady'(?)s name?
It’s a rotating supercell. Very normal storm formation!
I live in Oklahoma. We see these storms often in the spring....
Tornadoes start out sideways.
Saw many of those growing up on the gulf coast - had no idea what they were called though.
Hurricanes can spin off a lot of tornados.
Ian is a powerful hurricane, and the Northeast quadrant of the hurricane is where most tornados will form.
Be aware during the next 2 days. Lots of water spouts, lots of tornados.
Us Florida crackers are used to seeing these types of storms. At least this Florida cracker of 65 yrs living here.

Never heard it called a mesocyclone. Looks like a wall cloud.
I was thinking the same thing. Apparently wall clouds only exist in the midwest. 😂
Look up images of mesocyclone
Looks like a standard super cell thunderhead that can lead to tornadic systems

WTH? I’m in central east coast Good Lord

Yes these are very natural. Storm chasers out in the plains would kill to see one so well defined and clear as this.

Go spend a couple years in kansas and you will see storm fronts that make this look like spring sprinkle.
It looks a lot like the storm that just went through Venezuela.
If you're safe, they are a beautiful display of what mother nature is capable of. If you're not safe, they're a terrible reminder of the exact same.

Normal...we had one that looked just this here in SE MI last summer.
"Good, I hope Donald Trump dies in the storm" --some leftard somewhere

One of my husband's sisters and her family live in the Tampa area. Pray for Western Florida.
🙏
Juan has been saying for weeks that we should watch for wind events as this all comes to a head.

Whatever it is, praying for the people of Florida!!!
Must be Jupiter coming so close, seeing as it is the Roman God of the sky and the weather...

This looks manufactured. To scare us! Are white or black hats in control?
Perhaps manufactured as punishment for desantis and FL
