I promised I would send an update about my daughter. Last month I asked for prayers when my pregnant daughter was on her way to the ER because she didn't feel the baby move for almost a day. Then I updated later on that everything was ok - when she ate, the baby started moving again.
The rest of the pregnancy was more of the same - 5 or 6 trips to the ER, but everything continued to be ok.
Today she finally made it to the day her doctor scheduled her to have a c-section. She had a healthy baby girl, 6lbs 8oz and 20" tall (I hate when they say "long"). Everything went just fine and both are resting. Visitor rules only allow 2 visitors so I visited for a little while and left so my son-in-law and my wife can stay. I stayed long enough to hold my first granddaughter for a bit, and headed home to take care of the dogs. By the way - based Texas hospital - no masks required.
Thanks again for all the prayers. I truly believe that helped a lot.
That's wonderful news! Congratulations to all of you. I'm glad to know mother and daughter are doing well. What a blessing. It's very good to hear.
Glad to hear all are healthy. God bless.
Wonderful. God bless.
Fantastic.
God Bless your previous granddaughter! I’m so happy that this obvious stressful time is over and you can now celebrate and enjoy this blessing and newest member to your family . Praise God for this victory ! I’m lifting up your grand baby and thanking God that she’s healthy and safe ! Congratulations grandpa!
Prayer works.
Great news! I do question the 2 visitor policy. It’s your daughter and granddaughter. You should be able to see her!
I'm not too worried about it. She'll be out in a couple of days and will recuperate at our house while her husband goes back to work. He just got out of the (active) Army and his last official day is sometime this week. That's actually why the doctor recommended the c-section - so she would be certain to have the baby in time, and have time to recover in the hospital without worrying that her insurance would end. They will have new insurance as soon as he reports to his National Guard position and changes to their insurance, but the doctor thought it would be less stress if they didn't have to worry about that.
Her husband has a job a few hours away near his parents, so he will be working and looking for a house while she and the baby are here. They should be good to travel around Thanksgiving. My daughter has been staying with us since the Ukraine war started and her husband was deployed. She was newly pregnant and on her own, so this made sense - and ensured the baby would be born in Texas and not on the east coast. He has to go back to work as soon as she comes home from the hospital, so this time should be his.
when i was a med student on the ob rotation, i was in on a few deliveries where they may as well have set up bleachers for how many family members were in there.
Congratulations! I’m so happy this story had a happy ending. Enjoy that Grandbaby!
Great news! Happy for you Grandpa.
Congratulations that is very happy news!
Praise God!!! Congratulations to your family for this wonderful blessing in your lives! Dear Lord, Thank you for the safe delivery of this baby girl. Bless her with long life and laughter. Lead her to love you and know Jesus as her Lord & Savior. Fill her with your Spirit. Bless her and her family with your presence in their lives every day. I ask this in Jesus' Holy name, Amen.
now, who is the asshole that gave this a thumbs down????
😃😃😃👍
Thanks for the update. Frens here are always happy to pray. I have first hand experience from asking for prayer for my husband who had a stoke in December and was given a 10% chance to make it through the night. He did, and has made a 95% recovery (speech gets a little mushy when he's tired or stressed). Glad mom and baby are fine.
Ah, great news. Thx for the update.
That is a happy update indeed! Congratulations on your healthy baby girl.
So happy your daughter and new grandbaby are healthy and doing well. Congratulations on being a grandparent!!
I'm so GLAD to read this!! Thank you for the update. It's important we share answers to prayer with one another!! Congrats!!
Congratulations MawMaw or PawPaw!! What a wonderful blessing! Prayers answered for your healthy new granddaughter and your daughter's safe delivery! 👶💕 Thank you for the update and excited for your Christmas with the new baby!! 🙏🎄👶
Congratulations and thank you to your daughter for bringing life to this world.
Great news! God is good!
Congratulations! God had a plan, and that plan was for you to have a grandchild, and your daughter to have a child as well. Best wishes to you all. God is good.
Congratulations, fren! Glad to hear everything went well!
And, I'd be remiss if I didn't point out the importance of commas:
...when she ate, the baby started moving again. 😂🤣😂🤣
LOL thanks
You had me scratching my head for a moment, fren. At first, I read that all wrong. Kek!
What's funny is about 5 years ago I loaned my copy of "Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation" to a co-worker and never got it back. I should probably order another one.
😂🤣😂
It sounds like she was not eating enough. That's common for women, after all the fearmongering of becoming obese when pregnant.
Make sure she eats enough if she is breastfeeding, which I recommend with these formula shortages. If anything, breastfeeding gets harder as the baby gets bigger, that is, the baby starts drinking more. Lots of meat and dairy products, esp. yoghurt, and water. There are some herbs like aniseed, fennel and dill that help with making the milk sweet and not as windy for baby. (make a tea).
Actually, the longer you breastfeed the WAY easier it gets! Quantity isn't really the issue. The baby gets much more efficient at feeding as well. I agree it's a great choice all the way through. I nursed my son until he was past two and never regretted it.
True, the first month is always a struggle, but I was referring to down the track, when baby is older. Just the main point is to eat and drink for two.
Awesome!
Awesome news, God will and does answer prayers.
What a praise report! Thank you Lord God!
God Bless You and Your Family! 🙏🏻
Congratulations. Nice to hear some good news for a change.
Yeah, don't say 20 inches long. She will have a great adult film career being 20 inches long but will have a difficult time finding a mating partner with that thing , especially if she's a she with a twenty incher.
Glad to hear all is well. What hospital company was it ? I had 2 new additions to the family recently and Presbyterian and also Texas health both were mask nazis and wanted me to play their games the entire time. I would love to know of a hospital company I could go to and not have to worry about that garbage.
I think you may be out of luck on this one. She went to Christus, and they are mostly in South and East Texas. If you are where I think you are it would be at least an hour or 2 to get to the nearest Christus property.
Oh, okay. I'm in North Texas. Hopefully they relax with their ridiculous rules. Glad all went well for her!
Beautiful, so happy for you… such a joy.
So glad it worked well. Proud of you all.
