My hope and belief is that the vast majority of people would rather see all opinions and make up their own mind, then to have BigTech do all the decision making for them. This poll will show how much people actually care about FREEDOM of SPEECH.
The SCOTUS interpretation of allowable speech would be a pretty good guide on this as they stick pretty close to the 1A.
If Elon is as good as his word about wanting Twit to be a free speech forum then he must eliminate censoring of opinions he doesn't agree with or doesn't want on his site.
Still some speech can't be construed as legal under the 1A. This line will always be challenged.
Actually I am permanently suspended but can still see all of my tweets and others tweets but you're right about not being able to vote or like/retweet.
This week I submitted an appeal. I am also permanently suspended for violating their nebulous "rules." I stated that I was guilty only of sarcasm, and was essentially repeating what many in the Blue Checkmark Brigade were saying about sending MAGA people to re-education camps. I'll see if I get restored at last. I'm still not interested in using Twitter though, but at times I wish my account still worked.
For those who were suspended, I wonder if a new account can be set up for the purpose of voting in this poll? Many people have multiple accounts for a variety of things.
Comment- "well whatever it decides to do, twitter should be clear and consistent about itβs rules and penalties for breaking them, enforcement should be unbiased, and the mechanisms of enforcement shouldnβt be easily abused by people who have an agenda"
Elon's response "The more I learn, the worse it gets. The world should know the truth of what has been happening at Twitter.
Absolutely. As long as neither side is engaging in legitimately unlawful conduct or breaking spam rules everyone should be able to have a voice, like Twitter was originally marketed as.
I am considering joining Twitter and this is coming from someone who likes to think he spotted the trap with Twitter up until now, knowing that it would be a massive time-drain and I would be banned if I were successful (and so presented zero return-on-investment)
Elon would be smart to send this signal. (Twitter step-change [ppl like us] get on there)
First reply when I voted in that poll was how he could've provided 440 billion meals with what he paid for Twitter. Tempted to reply "Twitter spent $400 per employee for meals when it could've been spending $1 for 10? No wonder Elon had to clean house!"
the amount of seethe in his comments is delicious and rich, just don't make yourself sick reading it XD, i imagine every hugbox communist voting no, seeing the total and having a fit in a comment.
Is he trying to find the bots that didnβt reply to the Trump poll.
That and maybe he did the Trump poll first to weed out the bots, so that this poll will be more accurate. Assuming he removed the bots.
But Suspended Accounts can't see or respond to the poll because it's on Twitter.
Great point u/Emyrylde ππ»

He's asking current users anyway.
Just hit yes a few times bet they can see that anyway flucation in numbers.
Funny how many people are screaming "I will delete my account now! π"
Funny you should say that, here is another Elon Musk Tweet today.

Kek.
Will this include Jones?
We shall see. Musk took a pretty hard line against Alex in a recent post.
73% Yes, 27% No, at 977,779 Votes.
72% Yes, 28% No, at 1.73M votes with 19+hours left.
as long as its not kiddy porn bastards or shit like that.
I think that is why Elon has the caveat "provided they have not broken the law" in his poll question.
Yes, I will get my account back.ππΈ
Id use my twitter if it got unsuspended. I was an early adopter, was on twitter before aplusk got 1m followers

Transparency will earn the trust of the people."

I was on Twitter for 11 years before I got a lifetime suspension.
Appealed twice so far. Algorithmically rejected both times.
I supposedly broke the βrulesββbut they never told me which ones β¦
Personally, I believe it was because I told the truth too soon.

That has happened far too often recently.. recently being since at least as far back as Julian Assange.
Finally...I will return!
Still waiting for mine to be reinstated. Made 5 requests already. Slowwww.
I can't even remember my old account names. Lol
"content is king"
this would be a brilliant move on musk's end.
he's got 1,000,000 alt-right power-users he can recruit overnight.

In this case, I will offer amnesty, but I won't be offering up any amnesty to those who got really excited about what covid could do for them.
Thou shalt not spam! Elon is the Moses of Twitter
Permanetly suspended for calling Cardi B a whore.
It was a misleading post so you deserved it. She is a dirty whore.
I'd like to vote yes, but I'm permanently suspended since Jan. 2020 for having WWG1WGA in my profile.

Lol. I don't have Twatter. They can save the games for the little people.
Why not? Best to start fresh.
Also serves as a painful reminder that those who went ALL IN on covid will not be getting amnesty.
I donβt have a Twitter account. What is the policy?
What laws? Lawbreakers are entitled to speak freely.
