I feel left out. I haven't owned a TV in years. And I've never owned an American TV. I've caught glimpses of American "humor" on YouTube but none of it was even remotely funny. Mostly it was juvenile, puerile overacting.
I was a Conan kid. Would fall asleep on the couch and my stoner older brother would come home, turn on the tv, eat munchies, and Conan would be on. We’d both laugh our ass off. Was disappointed a while back when he was shilling for Hilary and saying libtarded stuff.
I used to love watching Craig Ferguson late night while I was studying for school. The show felt like a blend of Jay Leno meets Pee Wee’s Playhouse, and it just worked.
Since he and Leno retired, all of these shows have been nothing but half-baked indoctrination attempts for the few remaining normies that watch them.
Was Johnny Carson any good by our modern standards for honest media? I was 4 years old in 1992 when he went off the air so I never got to watch him. I loved Jon Stewart back when he hosted the daily show but I had no political awareness back then, and I don't much care for the man these days.
Raise your hand if you remember Jack Parr. I snuck out of bed and turned the TV to lowest volume to listen. Bed times were observed and then there was the problem of tubes wearing out from use so time on the TV was limited.
If they can’t do their shows without someone writing their jokes, they are merely actors. They are not comedians. comedians write their own material. Actors perform. Bring on the comedians.
They could not write a monologue, do homework on the guests, rehearse bits, and do it 5 nights a week without a writers room. Don't get me wrong, the shows suck. But to pretend that anyone could do it if they just read the cards, is not being serious.
Once upon a time, TV would just go off at midnight. They'd play the national anthem, and all transmission would cease. The only thing you'd be watching was a polar bear in a snowstorm - total white screen of static.
There was no VCR, DVD, streaming yet... that was it.
It was society's way of saying, "Go to bed you bum. You're not missing anything. You need sleep to get up early, go to work and feed your family."
Now look at it...too many can't help themselves, like children that can't control urges. Make it go off at midnight again...
Note: Shortly after they stopped shutting down TV at midnight, these late night devils and clowns showed up to fill the void. Nothing like that last bit of propaganda when your brain in in alpha and highly suggestible before sleeping...
Dave was controlled but he still had decent control of his show. It's only gotten worse with the Jimmy's.
What is a jimmy?
A "jimmy" can have several meanings, depending on the context:
Tool: A jimmy is a short crowbar used by burglars to force open windows or doors.
Sprinkle: In some parts of the U.S., particularly in the Northeast, "jimmies" is a term used for the chocolate sprinkles that are often put on ice cream or desserts.
Slang: Sometimes, "jimmy" or "jimmy hat" can be slang for a condom.
Am I the only one who thinks this Hollywood writers strike is a White Hat op? It's literally got Hollywood in a complete standstill. No chance for new propaganda to be made to lie to the public. Disney is also getting it's comeuppance right now too. It's all too conveniently timed for me.
you and I same. Jay Leno was good. After that, I watch Failed Army but that was dumb. If I need something, I just come here and look at all the Shitpost. It's good.
Not Prime Time with Alex Stein. For some reason Glenn Beck hasn't fired him from The Blaze yet. The guy makes me laugh, but he's cringely graphic on the gay jokes.
Because 'their 'comedy' has been liberal/communist politics for years and No One outside of NY City has been watching it.
Sorry, brain dead used to watch them until they turned stupid and political. They used to be funny.
I did also, until they made the criminal obama their hero.
Oh yeah. I remember that.
This is patently false. People outside of NY have watched these shows.
I feel left out. I haven't owned a TV in years. And I've never owned an American TV. I've caught glimpses of American "humor" on YouTube but none of it was even remotely funny. Mostly it was juvenile, puerile overacting.
Haven't watched late night since Johnny Carson...I can't even remember if that was pre or post kids it's been so long ago....😄...
Jay Leno was good too, he was apolitical and made fun of both parties.
Benny Hill. Retarded humor is the best humor.
Here....You'll enjoy this:

I may have watched him too...but so long ago and far away...like the early SNL....
I was a Conan kid. Would fall asleep on the couch and my stoner older brother would come home, turn on the tv, eat munchies, and Conan would be on. We’d both laugh our ass off. Was disappointed a while back when he was shilling for Hilary and saying libtarded stuff.
LOL

Die-a-beatus...
I used to like Jay Leno too.
Carson and Ferguson were, IMHO, the two best LateNite shows ever created.
Carson was old school, classy but with a tinge of bawdiness at times, and kept things in perspective.
Ferguson was organized chaos, absolutely hilarious, and had some of the best guest interactions I've ever seen due to 99% being off the cuff.
Legends.
My all time favorite Craig Ferguson Late Late Show can be summed up in three words: "Larry King Geoff"
"It's a great day for America, everyone!"
How TV's Craig Ferguson started every show, with roaring applause.
I honestly didn't even know until I saw this post.
Same here. I hate television.
I used to watch but now I have to go and work.
Yep. I legitimately had no idea. Never even heard anyone complain about it including likely leftists and plenty of normies at work.
Nobody has cared because nobody watches them and they all suck.
Oh damn, I used to watch them. They used to be funny eons ago.
You mean like back when Jon Stewart hosted the Daily Show? Cause that's the only one I ever remember being any good lol.
Johnny Carson and sometimes Jay Leno. I think I watch Jon Stewart for a little bit.
Was Johnny Carson any good by our modern standards for honest media? I was 4 years old in 1992 when he went off the air so I never got to watch him. I loved Jon Stewart back when he hosted the daily show but I had no political awareness back then, and I don't much care for the man these days.
I wasn't aware of politics either so I just dumbly watch. LOL
Johnny would be considered alt-right by today's standards.
Here he is in 1987 talking about lying Joe Biden -

Theres a free 24/7 Johnny Carson channel I've been watching and it holds up. It's honest and refreshing to not have modern bs thrown at you-

Late night shows do suck though.
Gutfeld is still on Fox and he is killing it!
Yes. Fox is no longer the good channel.
I had no idea.
Nobody even give a shit to them any more. LOL
MTVGOAMA - Make TV go off at midnight again
Dear kids,
Once upon a time, TV would just go off at midnight. They'd play the national anthem, and all transmission would cease. The only thing you'd be watching was a polar bear in a snowstorm - total white screen of static.
There was no VCR, DVD, streaming yet... that was it.

Unfortunately, I am a night owl. I watched the vote switched in 2020.
LMAO, I think Dave letterman was the last good one.
Yes.
Dave was controlled but he still had decent control of his show. It's only gotten worse with the Jimmy's.
What is a jimmy?
A "jimmy" can have several meanings, depending on the context:
Shouldn't it be called a No-Jimmy?
Dave was a bit left wing, Leno was more neutral. But Letterman was 100x better than the junk today.
My mother-in-law is missing Colbert way too much 😑
Didn't even notice..... Had not watched late night since Johnny Carson left.
LOL. I used to watch Jimmy Kimmel but he was getting stupid and political.
Am I the only one who thinks this Hollywood writers strike is a White Hat op? It's literally got Hollywood in a complete standstill. No chance for new propaganda to be made to lie to the public. Disney is also getting it's comeuppance right now too. It's all too conveniently timed for me.
You might be right.
Someone should get some scab comedians to broadcast ... probably be funnier than these left agenda pushers.
Yes.
lol, but no - we dont want to replace hellywood with more hellywood
No comedy that lets pete davidson on it is worth watching. Talentless hack hired by talentless hacks
Seinfield was my favorite. Tool Time Tim was also one I like. Other than that, they were all so so.
and Gutfeld reign's supreme.
LOL We all like different ones.
Haven't watched since Leno retired. About that time YouTube became a much better source of humor anyways.
you and I same. Jay Leno was good. After that, I watch Failed Army but that was dumb. If I need something, I just come here and look at all the Shitpost. It's good.
Late-night comedy shows have been off the air for almost 4 months, and nobody has even NOTICED
LOL. Late night taco time for me.
Not Prime Time with Alex Stein. For some reason Glenn Beck hasn't fired him from The Blaze yet. The guy makes me laugh, but he's cringely graphic on the gay jokes.
Sorry, don't know him.
The guy that was rooting for the unvaccinated who took ivermectin to die? The guy whose close friend was the chef on Epstein island? Are you a normie?
Jimmy is good. He is trifle sarcastic and that's why I don't like him.
