Potentially the world's largest lithium deposit has been found in a US volcano
What just happened? What is likely to be the world's largest deposit of lithium has been discovered in a volcano crater along the Nevada-Oregon border. It's estimated that the McDermitt Caldera holds between 20 million and 40 million metric tons, which would be larger than the current 21-million-ton record-holding deposit beneath the salt flats of Bolivia

The deep state destroyers will find a rare flea in the crater and interrupt any development of the resource.
Either that or it will get fast tracked as a national park
Historically, yes. But that's a pre-2018 mindset. End stage of the game, Patriots in control.
Awkward how lithium batteries tend to spontaneously combust and this deposit was found inside a volcano.
Oxygen and water causes those batteries to combust. In a volcano it shouldn't bear any more specific risk than in the ground.
Here's a strange anecdote that happened to me recently. I had one of the plastic battery holders with 2 18650 lithium batteries in one of my cargo pants pockets so when my flashlight died I'd have a spare (was working out back). I forgot about the extra batteries and did my laundry the next day. The batteries went through the washer and dryer. I only found them when I was putting my clothes away.
Those plastic holders are only made to keep the batteries from touching each other so they don't short - they are not waterproof in the least.
For whatever reason they did not explode or catch fire - even after being tumble-dried. I have no idea why I didn't have a fire. They weren't even bulging or warped. These are the same batteries that have blown people's faces apart if they used an unregulated vape mod with bad electrical settings.
I took the batteries to a local store that has a battery disposal - wasn't taking any chances.
It's a trap!
Give China the rights to mine it would be my guess.
One thing is for sure, Americans will not benefit from this find.
Maybe in 2024 when the boss is back..... we'll see 🙏
see Uranium One
They will indict Trump over this.
Reeee he didn't mine it and turn it into solar energy reeee
I know everyone is thinking EV. But would this amount of lithium be enough to treat every lefty in the US for their mental illness?
Like with EVs, there isn't enough on the planet.
It's settled. Wood-chippers it is.
I like your style buterbalz. A+ for outside the box thinking. 💡

Biden will likely see this as an opportunity to gain personal wealth from Chinese interests to formulate policies beneficial to them.
There you go, let the Chinese mine & process it. then sell it to us.
BREAKING: Biden administration sells Nevada-Oregon border to China.
Guess the war machine will have to invade Nevada to protect democracy.
If true then how would they mine it?
What could possibly go wrong......
How close is that to the Uranium One fiasco and the mineral rich land that Harry Reid was selling to the Chinese, which prompted the Infamous illegal takeover of the Bundy ranch?
Great! More EV fires that can't be extinguished. Forget the very pollution promoting lithium, how about hemp batteries and 'sugar' batteries, which are far better and environmentally friendly than lithium batteries? Even new developments in 'dual-carbon' based batteries can charge 20 times faster than Li-ion batteries. These are just a few of the many, many technologies that are being throttled. Let's release the technology that is legally gagged under the Invention Secrecy Act. Next, become familiar with 35 U.S.C. 181; the so-called Secrecy of Certain Inventions and Withholding of Patent and how these are used to silence over 5000 inventions per year. See my commentary there. Also, here is an article on Nano-diamond self-charging batteries that's also an intriguing read. Mind you, these are technologies in the battery domain. Other viable technologies (all suppressed) fall in the categories of fuel-cells and LENR, and more.
10% for the big guy!
Batteries for everyone!
Omg.... soooo perfect.
Wait until they release whats in Wyoming
I’ll bite. What’s in Wyoming?
Massive deposits of rare earth metals. East Wyoming area.
I think they were referring to uranium? That’s my guess.
Quick, set up a company so you can sell it to Russia. Let's call it Lithium One or something.
Guess we won’t need those electric cars anymore.
He’s gonna give the volcano to China or Zelensky. Lol
There’s an old army fort there and an a Indian reservation. Ft. McDermitt, I believe. My son in law is from there.
I hope it doesn't interfere with Burning Man...
Free lease to Chyna
The deal was probably done before the announcement.
that's not significant.... the average tesla car needs around 1200 lbs of lithium... the high performance cars need 1800-2000 lbs of batteries. large OTR semi's and other large trucks use between 8000-16000 lbs of batteries... that's 4 -8 tons per vehicle.... all that lithium needs to be refined to make batteries and will be enough for maybe 20 million cars at most... or around 1 million large trucks at most.... people don't realize how much those batteries weigh. if you doubt it... just to to tire stores like Tire Rack and they have tires specifically for ev's because of the excess weight of those cars based on the tire sizes.
This is around the weight of the whole battery pack, of which only a small fraction is lithium.
^^^ This ^^^
The average car battery has about 20 lbs. of lithium, you're only off by 1,180 lbs..
