Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I made a post and inserted this link and the post stripped the rest of the link.

not trying to promote a company, but if anybody is interested in silver bullion, 1oz coin, Q wwg1wga, I just happened to see that JM Bullion has stock on two diff styles, upcharge is a little high, but might come in handy sometime...these typically sell out quick, so i ordered a few just now...
Is Jimmy Carter dead yet?
Any anons actually play Starfield?
These types of games are not my thing but one, it's in space and two, it's the first Xbox exclusive game in years.
Being Bethesda, I am expecting woke writing, ugly women, boring gameplay, and needless side quests..but SOO many normies are bitching about it that just maybe it's actually good and not just Skyrim in space?
I haven't heard of that. My family doesn't play any games. Probably a good thing it's a solitary hobby. I'm uncoordinated even at video games. Back when my husband got play station in the mid 90s he and my daughter played Mario and it looked like fun. I beat poor Mario to death trying to jump those poles. Glad I was entertaining to them. I grew up during the age of first video games, Atari and then game room hang out as a teen. I stuck to pinball wasn't great but didn't suck either. About a year ago I found games on Yandex. Occasionally I play spider solitaire. If Some card games on there are to easy I play the challenging ones. Makes sense that I lean towards online cards I learned to play cards very early in life. I'd love to play real people occasionally. My dad's mom was the card player and taught me. When my granddad died she stayed Sunday night with us and we played for hours.
I love spider solitaire and I also do sudoku...two wonderful solitary games. Our family is big on games like Phase 10, Uno, Rummi-Cube, Jenga or really anything. I would try to do Mario Party with the kids and I couldn't even beat the grandkids...but I love playing some of those Wii games....even bowling. I usually won at Wheel of Fortune. As a kid we played Pinocle and I really love card games...we grew up on pin ball machines also...what a lot of fun...there is nothing like family fun and togetherness...and games, games games...
Family games are great. Sounds like your family has great times together. That's a lost treasure today. I didn't grow up playing games with my family except cards. I played monopoly with one friend a lot & still have that game. My little family of three played games a lot and the only game I could win was trouble. My husband is a master mind you don't want to play him in cards or any thinking game. I talk to much for strategy unless I'm pulling a prank and I'm excellent. My daughter's husband likes games also occasionally we all play a game.
I love master mind...but as I have gotten older the younger ones always seem to win...I tell you the Wii Monopoly game is a LOT of fun...the boards are so updated and modern. You know as everyone gets more involved in their kids growing up it is harder to get together.
But...even when my daughter and I went out to dinner lately we played Phase 10 waiting for the food and then throughout eating. Hey...remember that triangle game where you are left with only one peg...if you win...I grew up on that. When we used to play the game of aggravation people would get so aggravated we had to stop playing that game...life is so funny so often.
I had 3 brothers and sisters growing up and then my husband and I had five kids so there was ALWAYS someone to play games with...but alas they are all married and gone so we only play on holidays or other get togethers. That is why I do a lot of spider solitaire, sudoku, crossword puzzles and I also play Word Crush on my phone. Really good memories...and I love a GOOD memory...
Well worth a watch ,'Brad's lil talk show' the video he shows is at the 8min mark called 'THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH' i'm still watching and so far its good

Pissed-off venting ahead, typed through teary eyes, so there will be typos.
This regime and this economy BLOW!
My husband has been a hard worker for his employer for years with no pay raise, despite a great evaluation/review.
His paychecks are inconsistent at best and I NEVER thought we'd end up being in a paycheck-to-paycheck cycle, and depleting our savings within 3 years.
While I don't mind working outside of the home, I hate being forced to because of the cockroaches bleeding us dry and sucking the life out of everything.
I'm trusting in the Lord, and trying not to be angry more than I need to be. I know He hears me and wants what's best for me, but this refining process is rough. (Not a vent!)
I really miss being able to buy stuff, or at least having the freedom to do so. I miss it being MY CHOICE. I watch people send commentators big sums of money and I am jealous they can afford it and upset that I can't.
I wish I had been a better steward of what God has given us. I wish my husband were on the same page spiritually.
I want a return on our DWAC investment. I want Trump and an alpha pack back to take care of business.
These lizard people have got to go.
I have to stop crying and go apply at The Pig. It would be a blessing to work there.
Sometimes we need to vent I think it helps us move forward. Also keeps stress lower and ulcers away. Going through financial difficulties can truly test you. We have been there more than once during our adult lives/marriage. I just said a prayer for you and your husband. Praying everything gets better soon. Blessings fren.
Thank you so much, moodyblue!!
I applied for no less than six jobs today, two of which called me back within a couple hours. We may have good news with my husband, so please pray that it works out. If it does, it would be a HUGE relief!
I hear you.
Just a thought: have you thought of working with children in a daycare or VPK type setting? I know a ton of them are probably sketchy and overwork the staff and are not great environments, but some of the church ran ones seem pretty Godly from my experience. And they all appear to be constantly hiring.
Just a thought. I know being around children all morning would be a blessing for me, personally.
Prayers and positive vibes your way. 🙏🤗
I used to cook at a preschool. I never wanted to have to go back to it, but I know I'd be able to be hired. I may try it again. Thanks!!
Everywhere you go, pay attention to the employees. Ask yourself, where to people look like they like where they work? And apply there.
"For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it"(Hebrews 12:11ESV). There is no escaping the Father's love when you put your life into His hands. He will never leave or forsake you.
I feel your pain...but these times of trials WILL make you stronger. We are all at the point where we have to depend on God for EVERYTHING. Not my will but thy will. My social worker daughter just got a job for $12.00/hour at Chick-fil-A in her college town...it was the ONLY offer she received as she is awaiting her legal issues to be settled. That is a salary from 20+ years ago.
I will pray that you find the perfect work and that you see God working overtime to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory. You are the daughter of the Great I Am, the King of Kings, who owns the cattle on a thousand hills...NOTHING is impossible with God...may God richly bless you and your family.
That’s beautiful. From God’s lips to your ear.
Nothing is off limits when God wants to bless. I've been in some tight spots. Praying for you fren.
You are so sweet and uplifting! Thank you so much for those much needed words and verses.
I hope your daughter can make it work with that until she gets to use her degree again.
God inhabits the praise of man...just keep praising and thanking God for EVERYTHING...He is good...ALL THE TIME...😊...and He loves you MORE than you can ever imagine...
Take heart sister. You’re story sounds identical to my wife’s and mine. The funniest thing is she is considering applying at the Piggly Wiggly!
I wish you both the best! PW is not even a half mile from me, so it would be a great place to get to work.
(I haven't had a day like today in awhile.)
Does the Devil deserve a capital D ?
That fool "don't deserve sheit".
"It's pronounced, say-ton" - whatever gluten boi...
Yeah, otherwise you are referring to some poor devil.
Now that they’re beginning to tell me that the old vaccines are/were useless and harmful, how many think the new vaccines they push will be far worse?
Depends on your definiton of "worse" ;)
They prefer to call it "more features"!
exactly^ been hounding my kids for years to stand up straight, etc and they would look at me like I was crazy, think they can now see why I was concerned/people are slobs. I remember wearing skirts, nylons, etc all the time to high school, it was common in the 80s. also love looking at my towns’s FB history groups/a lot of neat pictures, so we don’t forget🇺🇸
I wear shabby older clothing to do housework and garden, I also never had to dress up for work, because I do direct care with persons who are developmentally disabled, and it does get messy, body fluids etc, but when I am off the property, or if I have folks coming over, I put on different things. I handle animals and chickens and goats, shovel manure, but if I need to go to just the post office, I put on a neater appearance. On the rare occasion I venture off to town, I try to look nice. In my lifestyle, going to the laundromat is a social occasion. I live in Vermont, as a rule, we are very casual here. Concerts etc, the men wear their best carharts and clean work boots. Church and weddings and funerals, the rare trip to Burlington for a show and dinner, and I mean rare, people dress up. My fathers take on men in shorts "they are not working hard enough". He wore slacks and a white collared shirt to work, he was a tech. Always dress up for church, but not in the Southern Standard, that just seems like too much maintenance. I suppose if my life had been different, had a husband who made a lot of money, my standards would have been different also, because I do admire beautiful clothing and fashion. But those were not the cards dealt me. What is most important is personal hygiene. Just like when we were kids, there were clothes to wear to school, and then you changed to play clothes once home. On the Sabbath, i always make a nice dinner, Sunday dinner, and I dress nice for that, change to sit down and enjoy, and I expect my son to put on something niice to come sit at Sunday dinner. We try to always have someone over for that.
Fashion is cyclical. If we went back to this, a hundred years from now we'd look back at pictures from today and probably think "we used to be so free" or something nostalgic
I think as long as people stopped wearing pajamas out, made sure their shirts were not bleach or food stained, and that their tops and bottoms actually matched we'd be fine.
Problem is that social norms are sort of dictated by women so tons of moms post on social media "yOu eXPeCt mE tO puT iN eFForT wHeN I aM WreStliNG twO tOdDlerz? NoNe oF mY sHoRts aNd JeaNs fit aND aLl mY cLotHes aRe sTainEd iN puKe #momlife" so any blowback against laziness in current culture is dismissed as misogyny
So insensitive...bEiNg a MoThEr Is tHe HaRDeSt jOb in tHe wOrLd!
They could afford it. Ron Paul can tell us how our purchasing power has dropped since then. Plus they cared.
Wow
so neil degrass tyson just came out saying that 'alien visitors are unlikely'.
As a big fan of aliens and a big hater of neil d tyson, this all makes perfect sense to me.
I know y'all are chomping at the bit for a blue beam psyop... and I get it; the deep state will do whatever they need to do to keep us scurrying and confused.
but i've been predicting that they will slam the brakes on the alien narrative when they realize that there is an ET presence that poses a threat not to the people, but to the lizard people.
im gettin excited
Hello All, I spoke to Jason Goodwill tonight, who is in house arrest. He is a descendant of the family that started Goodwill. I updated this post after I talked to him to try and present the facts. Its a difficult case, but its about a guy who uncovered wrongdoings in his hometown and is being abused by the legal system there.

Hi gang, please remember a little teenage girl with lupus in your prayers. Hey insurance dopes switched out meds and almost killed her twice, and while in the children's ICU the dopes almost killed her twice again because they don't look beyond their speciality nor listen to the parents. The whole corrupt diseased temple needs to be taken down. TIA pedes, you're my island of sanity.
John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
An essential passage.
4 "In him was life, and the life was the light of men."
This is exactly what you are. Now is your time. You are life itself. You carry the light of God within you.
5 "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
Now take it one step further. We are to overcome the darkness. THIS is our mission.
My kids are memorizing John 1:1-7 in English and Latin this year.

Jam! 🔥🔥🔥
My oldest daughter heard the song and compulsively sang the Latin she didn't recall knowing. Truly this is the best way to educate kids.
I've always loved Adeste Fideles in the original Latin.
Excellent!
The greek word for "overcome" in the manuscripts is κατελαβεν. It was translated to "comprehend" in KJV, "apprehend" in ASV, "grasp" in NASB, and "mastered" in NET. NET has a footnote regarding the translation of this word.
Amen! Great verse to begin the evening.
