According to some, yes they did dive into the festival and start shooting but, as well, there were groups of them who had blockaded the roads leading out of the festival and so they were just blasting people/taking people as they were trying to flee, stuck in the traffic jam. lines of damaged, burnt and otherwise disabled cars along the road, the clean-up, rescue had to move them all off to the sides of the road after.
