Find an elderly person who's yard looks like shit and make it beautiful. You will feel like a million bucks. Being love is meaningless without action. Put it into action and you will find purpose.
There is a lot to be said with this approach. Helping others always seems to lift the clouds and give you a whole new meaning in life. Other things you can do... Volunteer to read to seniors in assisted living or to kids at a Children's hospital. Soup kitchens are big mood boosters and assisting at local toy drives during the holidays are also very rewarding. You can also start small in your own home by organizing and purging things you don't need. You'd be surprised how that small thing spirals into other life improvements. When I felt low, I picked up a paint brush and learned how to express my emotions through landscapes. Lastly - make sure you're getting enough B12. You may need to methylate.
I hesitate to offer advice, because I frequently feel the same way.
I will say though that it's important to take breaks. Carrying the weight of the world and all of it's terrifying problems on your shoulders isn't a sustainable way to live.
Change your habits, separate yourself from the media (including GAW) for awhile, and hit the reset button. It's not a solution I know, but it will make things a bit more manageable.
Like you mentioned in your post, nothing is permanent, so take time to enjoy the good things in life too.
Hang in there. The golden age is not very far off. You be swept up in it and find your happiness. When you give joy to others, you will find joy yourself.
Well, you have found the secret to life, but you need to follow it through. Life is not about doing things that please you, but doing things that please God. You know what they are: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. These are the fruit of the spirit, and they make our lives meaningful. They are all virtues that can be acquired by practicing them. They make our lives beautiful and pleasing to God. They draw us closer to God, and they make us long to be with Him forever. Which will happen!!
I’ve spent a great deal of my life having suicidal ideations, and feeling very depressed and down. I’ve been clinically diagnosed with depression, and many other maladies.
BUT GOD
Even as a Christian, I’ve struggled with many of these things, But God. Over the last year, I have overcome so many hurdles regarding how to approach life, and how to live in the moment, and be happy, or have the joy of the Lord, to be more precise.
I highly recommend that you join a nondenominational Bible, believing church. Something like a Calvary Chapel, where they study the Bible, chapter by chapter and verse by verse. Also, read one proverb, and one psalm each day. With minimal effort, you can accomplish this, and you will begin to hear God’s voice speak to you.
Once you do that, join a men’s, or women’s Bible study based on your gender. This is where you will find the support and prayers of other believers, and they will help build you up. Also by studying the Bible every week within a group setting, you will begin to see the Lord speak to you and show you things about your life, your personality, and how God wants you to grow in his love.
Once you start feeling better about yourself and life in general, you will start to reach out to others and begin volunteering at perhaps a harvest festival or just go to the lake with the group of Christian friends from the church, etc…
Also, I suggest doing all these things as a family. If you’re married, make sure that your wife is going to church with you and she’s in a Bible study as well. If you’re single, then meet other single friends, and enjoy each other’s company, and learning about the Lord.
Also, if you’re suffering from severe depression, which it sounds like you are, I highly recommend ketamine infusions for treatment, resistant depression. This has been a complete lifesaver for me. I’ve been doing it for three years now, but since I’m now in alignment with God, and what he wants from my life, the ketamine is working now better than ever.
I can actually say at the age of 59, finally… Finally, I have found some joy in my life. I can complete regular tasks, which I was unable to do prior to all of this. I make tie-dye shirts, and I put scriptures on them, and I give them to people as gifts. I’m just finding my Nich in this world now.
I am truly sorry that you’re going through these types of emotions and feelings. It is truly a struggle, and I feel for you. I will be praying for you. I don’t have all the answers. I’m not Jesus’s lawyer, I’m only his witness. I can only tell you what he’s done in my life, and it’s been miraculous.
““The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” ’”
Numbers 6:24-26 NKJV
I’m sorry you are having a tough time. It will get better as more people wake up. Surround yourself with patriots, volunteer for your local republican representatives, go flag waving.
Its an endurance to the end, and that IS the hardest part. Putting aside our fleshly hardships and putting on our armor of God is thee only saving grace.
Peter was able to walk on water only while keeping his eyes on the prize, Jesus. The moment he he stop he began to sink.
Matthew 14:29
And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
The smallest unit will always be one-self. Realizing that everything else exists so that one can grow one-self within it...that's where it's at.
impermanent
Choosing to hold onto things within a moving system shapes impermanence into a ones burden. Instead try adapting to fluid (inception towards death) to sustain solid (life)...
they're all going to die
Each one lives within the process of dying, hence in-between moment of inception and moment of death. Instead of focusing on going anywhere; realize the need to resist being moved forwards.
The more one resists; the more resistance grows.
I was attached to
a) One needs to resist wanted temptations...the latter tempts one to hold onto; while the former cannot be held onto.
b) intercourse for off-spring implies being set apart...not together. Being one implies apart from one another. All attachments imply ones choice to ignore the need to let go for wanting or not wanting to hold onto.
I want to be
Being implies choice within balance (need/want). Choosing to want (suggested) tempts one to ignore need (perceivable).
I'm tired of having to take
Nature offers everything (perceivable) to each one (perception)...trying to take that which moves; instead of drawing from it; that's pretty tiresome.
Once you wake up to the realization that everything around you is so fake and fraudulent, there's no forgetting that, not without a lobotomy at least.
I'm with you - everything seems so dull, my enthusiasm is gone. After 3 "recessions" during my teenaged and adult years I too am defeated. The lockdowns and mandates were the final straw to breaking the camel's back. I worked hard just to see everything evaporate with not a care in the world from most people. At this point I really wish I could opt out and let the assholes bathe in the shit they've created for us all.
I remember this point in my own awakening. It will take some time to pass. The situation seems hopeless, and mostly it is.
Eventually you will come back to the realization that family, friends and living and enjoying life are the most important thing, you don't have a lot of control around the things we discuss here, so better to enjoy the little things, and improve yourself and your life
We are like dust in the vast universe. It is a total miracle that any of us are even here. We come here to do something. Don't forget the miracle! Remember your purpose! Go outside and feel the sun on your skin. Hug somebody. I'm gonna steal someones meme and say my favorite conspiracy theory is that everything is gonna be ok.
I'm sure many here will disagree, but this is exactly the thing that weed is for. It takes that depressing edge off, helps you to be able to laugh at the things you should be laughing at and not worrying about.
Suicide does not achieve any of the fulfillment or love you seek. It only ensures you will face the same tests again. The advice by others here on how to feel better is solid and worth implementing. Also, pray.
I have two dogs that are food obsessed. They get so wound up for breakfast and dinner.
"Nice story, BC. But what the hell does this have to do with anything?!"
See me through...
I never really prayed. I believe in God. I talked to God regularly. But never really prayed since I was kid. Talking seemed more "productive" or real then ritualistic/habitual prayers.
So back to my dogs. As a method to calm my dogs down when feeding them, I made them say prayers before every meal. Well, they have to lay in front of their bowls with the heads down and I say the prayers.
Twice a day we give thanks to God for all our blessings (and call them out specifically), we pray for those around us that need help, we acknowledge our weaknesses and pray for strength, and we ask God to help us overcome the evil in this world.
Every day, twice a day I think about all of the blessings I have and give thanks for them. Every day, twice a day I acknowledge my fears and my shortcomings and ask God to help me overcome them. Every day twice a day, I pray for those that need him most. Every day, twice a day, over 2 years now.
What started mainly as a way to calm my dogs before eating, has turned out to be God answering some of my prayers, as I find so much strength in it.
Not sure if you believe in God, but even if you don't, try it. If it makes you uncomfortable, don't pray to God, but twice a day... out loud... state all that you are thankful for (the small things count!) and acknowledge all the things you need to work on.
There is a lot of great advice on here from your frens. I hope you read it all and consider some of it.
u/Darstradamus makes a good point: helping others is a strong antidote to depression.
If it feels like too much, consider adopting a dog or other animal, or volunteering at a shelter or the like. Interaction with animals is often easier and less complicated than with other humans, and interaction with a pet, for instance, is known (and has been shown in studies) to improve mood and reduce tension.
There is a world of love and goodness right here on Earth, today, despite the battle now raging between good and evil. Immerse yourself in some of the goodness; give and receive some of the love, and your mood will change for the better. Love is what we are made for -- in THIS life.
Maybe rescue a pup! I see a lot of joy at the dog park these days. I never knew rescuing my two pups would bring so much new life to my existence. We fellow dog owners meet each morning and let our little rescues run around, play recklessly and heal. I know I made a difference in their lives and I feel true love for them and all the dogs and dog owners around me. Blessings and love to you!!!
Yep. Been there … recently. This is not advice, it is just what I have chosen. The hard fact is, we dont live in the fairy tale world 99.99% of people here in the US, and all over the rest of the “western” world think we do. I know my vote doesnt count. I can inform as many people as I can about the insanity (voter fraud, vaccine lies, rampant pedophilia, corruption, media lies, on and on), but not even 20% bother to listen. When I laid down the burden of feeling I needed to save everyone around me, it was instantly liberating. My ‘depression’ from frustration was gone in an instant. It is exactly like in the movie The Matrix, when Morpheus told Neo: “I can only show you the door, you are the one that has to walk through it”. Same with us. We can show all the evidence on the planet to try and save them. If they refuse to listen, or act like liberal shit bags with their smart ass responses, just smile and move on. This shit is beyond our control. We can only inform the people about the truth. Quit taking personal responsibility for anyone other than yourself. Its pretty awesome how different you feel almost instantly. Healthier in a matter of days. Definitly happier.
I’ve been there fren, gotten myself into ugly legal trouble, bad relationships, and seen the other side of it; find a good wife, create a family, and still feel emptiness. The start for me was God, might not work for you but that was my entry point. But beyond that was understanding that life and emotions are as consistent as tides in the sea. They will flood in, sometimes they will fade out, but it will always come back, the good and the bad. The most important take away I’ve been trying to drive home for myself was that, high highs will go away so focus on the moment when you’re in it. Low lows suck as much as anything, but they will go away as well. It’s almost like wearing a rubber band on your wrist to snap your arm when you fall too deep in either feeling. Just a reminder that good times are fleeting but so are bad times, pull yourself outside of the situation and evaluate it like a spectator.
An amazing book I’ve read a few times is the Untethered Soul. It’s not preach, just provides a different perspective on how to view life. Might be helpful, might not, but it’s something to kill time if for nothing else. I’d say I’ll be praying for you, but I’d be a hypocrite, I barely pray for myself. I’ll make an attempt.
Are you suffering from a vaccine injury? Wondering since you say you’re thinking of death. Are you getting enough good nutrition? Drinking too much? Are you a person of faith or simply one of those people who only say they are a Christian or whatever…?
LET’S FAST FORWARD: Just think how bad you will feel when this all goes down, we win & we are on the cusp of the best is yet to come. Then there is you…..There you will be feeling bad & suicidal because you lacked the courage to hang in, to hold the line! You will be unable to savor the total victory because you gave up. Stop sabotaging yourself. Just want to be love? You sound like a teenager drunk or stoned. Develop your intellect, gain wisdom. Life is a struggle, no one gets out alive. I promise that you can find joy in the struggle. The cause is great, nothing will be wasted.
Take a break. Read some great literature. Deepen your faith. Like others have said help someone with a need that you can fill. ❤️
We can surly sympathize with how you feel Anon. So many of us here on this forum have been both physically and mentally fighting for just weeks, to years, to decades. Trying to figure out what to do or think down to each day can be stressful, if one chooses it to be. So tell me about what your personal struggles are? I’m here to help.
I’ve also messaged privately. To ask if you wish to discuss in public or private.
Hey these things are all true without God. He created us all with a purpose, and when you serve Him, everything you do is eternal. Yea this country won't last, even our lives and families won't last, but the work we do for Him is for an eternal purpose. Get yourself acquainted with Jesus and the Bible, and you'll find true meaning and purpose that actually transcends the finite and transient nature of this life and this culture. It's real, Jesus IS King, and He will help you figure it out. Don't lose hope, there are people who are leaning on you even if you don't realize it. DM me if you would like to talk more about this
This feeling is temporary and cyclic, but can be overwhelming.
Rhodiala can help you snap out of it quickly. For long term maintenance get saffron.
Check your diet and exercise regiment. Eating garbage? Change your diet. Do not drink alcohol when you're in this slump; it worsens it.
Exercise releases natural endorphins to improve mood.
Life isn't static, there's no such thing as "just" feeling one emotion. It's one hell of a roller coaster ride. Without the downs, how can you appreciate the ups?
Find a hobby that you enjoy. Keep busy! And like others have already said, step away from the news cycle for a bit.
You've got this!
Get the rhodiala. It's available at nutritional supplement stores. You'll be surprised at the lift in your thinking. The world won't seem so overwhelming.
I take Adaptra…. it has Ashwaganda and Rhodiala. Been down a very difficult road myself and I can also attest that helping others does make all the difference. I don’t know how people go through this life without faith to hold on to. As dark as the world has become, it’s somehow strengthened my faith in God.
I personally have to use saffron every day. I drop about 8 strands in my coffee every morning. I only use rhodiala when I need an extra boost.
If you’re using it every day, you may have built up a resistance and need to take a break from it before restarting. Many herbs and medicines are this way. The body is amazingly adaptive.
Spirituality is definitely a necessity for feeling whole. Have you tried meditation? Also healing solfeggio frequencies. It's really about finding what works for you.
Helping others is an amazing thing. Gets us out of our inner world and looking at the bigger picture.
Just remember, you're here for a reason. There are no coincidences.
Sorry, I have nothing for you. Until and unless you learn to put your love into action here on earth, death is just a portal to unimaginable suffering. Jesus is my Lord and Savior. It is He who puts my hand and mind to the task daily and promises to be there for me after my time here has ended. Perhaps, Jesus is that missing ingredient in your life.
Nothing lasts forever, thats why we have children to pass on the best part of us and cast it into the future. Your body may wither and die but the deeds you leave behind are what defines you.
Take pleasures in the day to day and leave the rest to God. You were never asked to burden the weight of the world on your shoulders. If you live a life of love and change those around you then by proxy you have changed the world for the better.
This was the only real ask God had for us. Love God, love yourself, and love others, that is enough.
Go find someone who needs help and help them.
I pick up a shovel to landscape lol same urge to create something beautiful.
I figure anything that makes a little piece of the world better helps make the whole world that little bit better.
^^^ 100% THIS ^^^
Hopefully you have Jesus friend. He can sustain. He can fulfill. Just focus on Him.
Don't give them the win Fren. They want us all dead. Keep fighting and enjoy the ride.
Amen!

the Bible speaks on this pretty clearly. as do many other spiritual teachings.
wordly attachment = pain
to mitigate such wordly pains, think about the rewards your eternal soul will reap for enduring the pain now.
i don't know the exsct quote, but something like... there is no pain on earth that is not soothed in heaven.
Anon, I’m going to PM you and try to help.
This is what makes this place great. Thank you.

Primatologist Frans De Waal, author of In The Age of Empathy: Nature's Lessons for a Kinder Society, shows that human nature is fundamentally kind, cooperative, and empathic, with a strong sense of fairness and concern for others.

Might be helpful, might not, but it’s something to kill time if for nothing else. I’d say I’ll be praying for you, but I’d be a hypocrite, I barely pray for myself. I’ll make an attempt.
Is everything okay Anon? I’m hoping so. We are a supportive community and are willing to listen or help if we can.
Love is stronger than death. Consider the beauty of creation, and the incredible detail and beauty in it:

though we have marred it, it remains.
Death is NOT permanent, either for the body or the soul: 1 Cor 15
For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve.
Then he appeared to over five hundred brothers and sisters at one time; most of them are still alive, but some have fallen asleep.
Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.
Last of all, as to one born at the wrong time,[Or, as one stillborn} He also appeared to me.
¶ For I am the least of the apostles, not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

I'm actually in the best shape of my life right now. I don't eat much so my muscles aren't huge or anything but I used to be really skinny.
If you have nothing - then you have contradicted yourself to mention Jesus. (And no, I was not your downvote)
