Step 2: Cut whatever percentage of every Federal program by whatever percentage of spending cuts are necessary to not have the national debt raise any further, unless Congress has passed a budget that will accomplish this by required date.
Anyone that has lent money to a friend under the conditions stated above by Trump saying, pay me back whenever and no interest knows they never get their money back. This is a nothinburger by Trump when you read the fine print.
Yes but the whole money lending to Israel and Ukraine could go on indefinitely. Look how many billions Israel has been given per year. They could now call this an "indefinite loan" and nothing about our foreign aid program would change. The US prints money, devalues the dollar and gives it away, hurting its citizens. They could call it a loan instead but either way it has to stop.
That is all true, and correct. However, when people owe you money, that is listed as an asset. Imagine what the value of the USA would like if we were holding on to outstanding loans, instead of empty air, for all the money we have given away over the years.

This is about time. When we fought the Revolutionary War, we borrowed money from other countries, did we pay it back. I will say we paid for it by "giving" money to other countries, maybe not the same ones we borrowed from, but other countries got our money and never had to worry about getting any of it back to us. I understand Israel buys weapons from us that we "give" to them, so in a way that is paying it back.
I don't like the "no interest and unlimited life" part. Sounds like this deal could be given to Ukraine and we would be just as screwed.
