The delivery driver in that article is a moron. He said "I'm glad I'm not an immigrant because I'd probably have to go back to my home country after being arrested." Yet, he knows the immigrant who attacked him was released back into the street...
That's concerning. Even after "feeling the pain" directly, it still doesn't click with these people. That delivery driver walked away mostly complaining about the cops, not illegal immigration.
Atlanta has so many ways of getting in - 3 interstates (I-20, I-85 and I-75) plus the circumferential road (I-285) and some additional highways. These are multilane highways - I 85 and I-75 before they hit I-285 have 6 lanes each way for example.
However - given the already horrible Atlanta traffic - just impeding the flow of traffic will cause massive slowdowns and possibly gridlock. It just might work.

A broker will pay more than what they are getting for a load to keep a customer. And some non English speaking driver will go.
Still will need to find such a driver, make sure that they are properly insured (and that insurance might go up depending on the driver's history, or insurance might be outright refused under certain circumstances), and hope that they do not cause an incident during the job, or take care of the headaches if the incidents do occur.
All of that and more will be malfunctions in their machine, and every point of inefficiency means one step closer for the city to collapse, because cities like NYC are more fragile than you think...

While reducing the flow to zero is ideal, reducing the flow to the point where stocks are consumed faster than they are replenished means that the city will find themselves without adequate food supplies soon. Big cities like NYC require large and well-organized streams of food and goods to function; even a relatively small hiccup in that stream will have a noticeable negative effect on the city, especially if they have no time to prepare...
How about a movement called the "truckers crawl". Anyone and any vehicle can join keeping lanes into those states so congested for DAYS. All lanes entering NY or DC from any route should be congested with 1mph traffic. So slow and so long moving so slowly truckers drip into the state... if they can ...over days of traffic long delays.

I treat my trucker neighbor very well. Every time he is home, he honked at us and we take him out to dinner or he comes over for dinner.
