Was it more, less or about the same as any other Easter Sunday? Mine was packed. The Holy Spirit was pulling a lot of people in today. Hopefully the disturbing and twisted times we are experiencing is causing a lot of normies to think about the good and evil taking place in plain sight. Much of our sermon delt with setting good examples in our communities, college campuses, at work and play. Showing God's love for us reflected to others feeling hopeless and lost.
We need to draw people to our side not by fear or intimidation but by engaging in a kind word and offers to help others when we see them struggling. Lots of people feel lost today, unable to trust the media or even relatives and friends. We can fill the gap if we make the time to stop for a moment in our busy lives and offer a helping hand, give a compliment, a word of encouragement. We never know what that person is going through but in a world of bitterness , hate, division, perversion and lies our kindness might be the greatest gift they never expected that day.
So while we fight the good fight online let's also fight evil by doing good in small ways every day. When God gives us the eyes to see someone in pain, sad, overwhelmed, frustrated, or depressed and anxious..give of yourself as Christ has given to you. A compliment, an atta-boy, a smile and a kind word are all things we can do everyday, to bless that person and ourselves in the eyes of God. A tiny piece of God's love is more powerful than all of Satan's army. Give small pieces of that love away everyday and watch how things start happening for the better.
Happy Easter to all my frens on this board.
Neither shall men say, Lo here, or lo there: for behold, the kingdom of God is within you. -- Luke 17:21 --1599 Geneva Bible
A few more people and lots of kids.
Our church was so packed they had to break out more folding chairs and we still had people standing in the aisles.
Same here
I go to a large church, weekly attendance is about 3000 across 4 services. Every service was completely packed today. I would not be surprised if there were 1200 people just in the service I went to. It was literally standing room only and they set up rows of chairs in the lobby outside the auditorium. God's glory was in that room.
Packed for the Dawn service...which is unusual for my church. Lots of people coming in for the 9:00 service. Lots of talk afterwards of the Biden Admn and transgender nonsense.
Packed last Sunday and today. It’s normally very crowded Easter Sunday and it sort of bugs me everyone comes out of the woodwork for one day a year. I know so many people who do this but could give two shits every other time. Easter usually tops Christmas. Anyway, I was also surprised so many were there last week. Normally it’s medium attendance but there are multiple services. Last weekend had the choir and the contemporary band AND Irish dancers. LOL.
People that only go once or twice a year, usually Christmas and Easter are called CEOs. ChristmasEasterOnly.
LOL
Or "cheasters"
My old Pastor used to call 'em the C & E crowd.
Blessed to be in a growing and based church. People are craving the truth. We set a new attendance record over 4 services. We just went to 3 services a year ago and began construction on a new worship center.
Very packed, more than Christmas even.
Same here!
Ditto.
Didn’t go. I don’t know a church nearby that is based and not woke/pussified.
Our last church was awesome. Then the pastor retired. The new guy they hired wouldn't commit to the divinity of Christ.
WOW.
Have not yet settled on a new church. We celebrate at home these days.
Whoa. That's a strange, faulty selection process. Feel bad for you and the congregation. Fortunately, God is everywhere, so you have plenty of places to choose from, as long as you avoid the people who shut Him out!
I can't find a perfect church either.
But I still go.
My church had 4 services this weekend instead of the usual 2. And all 4 were packed!
Large Tennessee church south of Nashville. Normally 2 services. Had 3 today and 2 yesterday. Assuming all were full or nearly so. I went to 9:30 today and it was packed.
I went to the 6:45am sunrise service at the local Methodist church. I'd say there were maybe twenty folks in attendance, probably a little less. It was the shortest church service I'd ever went to. We sat down at 6:45 and were walking out at 7:00. The preacher spoke for about ten minutes and one song was sang then the preacher dismissed us. Very odd, cause I just figured it would be a traditional Protestant service, three songs, an offering, the message, and then an alter call. Yet we only had the message and one song. I did like the preacher, though.
I was in a large Midwestern city celebrating with my parents and we went to the Saturday vigil mass of the parish I was baptized in and I'd say it was about 40% full. The only reason it was that full was due to two baptisms and five confirmations of members of the Latino community, so there was a substantial contingent of extended family that were there to witness the event. Without them it would have had half that number of people. This is due to a radical demographic shift in the neighborhood over the last 20 years that has it now being majority black.
In the past this Church had four priests and five masses each weekend and Easter Sunday and Christmas always had people standing in back, around the sides of the Church, and overflow in the vestibule and crying rooms.
Went to the candlelight Easter Vigil last night - had never been before and was in the mood to try something different. Fairly good attendance. Eight people baptized including one whole family. Although it ran late, it had been a long time since I had witnessed a baptism and it was kind of neat to watch their excitement.
My friend who hasn't been in years said she felt the need to go today went to sunrise service
Amen to that. I think there were millions today that felt that same need, many who never go to church. I hope the messages from the pulpits were inspiring and able to feed souls hungry for truth and healing.
We had a full house at church today (which is about 200 people). The pastor had a great message from Matthew 28.
Dawn sunrise service had about 50. I live amongst the godless. It was a great showing, double last year.
10am service at the church was a full house.(wife reported. One and done for me) It was a good day for our church. A lot of new faces.
Both services were packed. We went to the late one and there were 3 baptisms also.
All 4 sercives were packed in East County San Diego. And on a cold and rainy day!
People can feel it. 🙏🙏🙏
Up
Somewhat more than regular, lots of kids and big families. I think the Easter Vigil mass may have had way more, it usually does.
Packed wall to wall. We ran out of fliers
Great post. Our sunrise service was rained out, but apparently there is quite a bit of people that went to the sanctuary instead. I was at the second service, and it was packed. Great post.
Didn't go. I haven't been since an altercation a few years ago.
Put the past in the past. Don't let it taint the future. Find another church and spend time with the Lord in prayer. Ask him to help you get beyond the bitterness. Grow from the experience and seek Him out at another church. He's waiting for you to come.
so sorry.
Our church attendance was up. People very happy. Ditto with my friend’s church. Baptist and Presbyterian.
2 services, both standing room only.
I work check-in for the kids' ministry at my church. Normal Sunday attendance is around 100 kids between both services. Today we had a total of 195. That really warms my heart to no end because a relationship with Jesus is the most important thing a parent can ever encourage in their children....
