Interesting shot I got today of the eclipse. Some clouds were passing by and I snapped a few off, looking through them after I noticed the form in the upper left corner.

Yep! I didn't notice it until after I'd taken it looking back through, have another one just after where it looks kind of like a baby elephant.
Once the cloud cover rolled in I snapped a bunch, really cool photo op.

We have 4 dogs. 11 hens and 1 Rooster. I watched them all today. The dogs did the normal laid out, LOL and the chickens just kept chickening!! We didn't even get a partial eclipse.

Well, despite my bitching, the clouds were thin enough to see the totality! Most amazing thing I've ever witnessed. The horizon for 360° looked like a sunset. Thank you Lord for letting me be able to see this AWESOME ECLIPSE!
It was indeed awesome and beautiful, full totality in Vermont. I applauded, lol. Thank you God for giving me and my son something wonderful to share.
I hooted so loud I almost busted my son's eardrum! He shouldn't have been surprised by it, as he's ridden roller coasters with me, and that's what I do when I'm having fun! 😂

Well dang I sure know how to screw my self royally! I’ve had eclipse glasses since 2017 eclipse. They have been in the drawer in my laundry room ever since. Back then I wanted to travel to the next eclipse. Then life happened and it’s not as important as getting myself to a normal healthy life. Just looked and glasses are gone. I’m thinking I tossed them during my winter (spring) cleaning. Oh well it’s cool. I can see the sun from the west side of the house and will just look at eclipse when it’s safe.
Speaking of the eclipse. This weekend I reading animals are affected by the eclipse. My daughter’s dog has had about one seizure a year in November when the weather changes. Last year he had one twice. He woke up this morning wobbly and started seizing. He’s part mine and I keep him while they work and other times. When this happens you can’t leave him. So, he’s more important than viewing an eclipse. He’s not seizing anymore but very tired.

Thanks fren, he’s much better. So far it lasts a few hours and if you hold him he goes to sleep. A few hours later he’s fine. Thankfully it doesn’t happen often. It’s unknown what causes it. Other than the occasional episode he’s a happy healthy boy.
It's interesting the 2024 eclipse had a sudden last-minute course correction, some guy did some math and discovered the path was incorrect, now all the paths are updated

yea there was a huge interest in 2017 about the town where the paths crossed based on the predicted 2024 path. Now that town was magically completely wrong 😅

I am so sick of the bullshit surrounding a reoccurring astronomical phenomenon the only physical manifestation of which is a few minutes of dimming of sunlight.
I have never seen states “with an excess of caution” (remember that phrase, we saw it at the beginning of the “pandemic” fraud and we are sure to see it again) declare a state of emergency for an eclipse.
The religious nutters and the prepper crazies are out in force over this as well. BTW, I am fully in favor of religion and prepping but, as is common in humans, some take them to pathological extremes.

No, you're not. People are getting real weird about stuff lately. It's not like this eclipse snuck up on us or something. It's a clock. It's periodic. It just happens to get a large swath of North America this time, so it's getting a ton of coverage. I know some frens who are legitimately scared of the eclipse today, ascribing all sorts of undue meanings to it, and it really wigs me out like we are living in the dark ages (kek) or something, and folks are gonna start sacrificing goats to make the sun come back. Very weird. Sometimes the amount of real fear I see on this board is alarming. Grab some glasses and go take a look. if anything stare your irrational fear in the face.

Depends on what you include in MSM. If you watch the big networks, it's been positive. I've only honestly seen the fear and panic from folks on our side. I dunno. Would love a link if I'm missing something.

Yeah, I drifted away from Dr. D in the 90's as life got in the way. Never lost my love of novelty tunes, though. I guess he went to streaming in the 2000's, not sure if he's still doing it. Dr. Demento will always have a place in my heart. The laughter I got from his show and what 'Basement Tapes' CDs I got, were very cathartic for me at the time.
I was listening since the beginning in the 70's when I was in junior high, by the 90's we were raising the kid.

I came here looking for someone talking about the heavy white lines in the sky today and here you are near top.
I live in Michigan, traveled into Ohio to see it. The skies were blue till I got to the Ohio border. They were spraying heavy. I changed direction and went east, the skies were still blue in that direction. Everything south was covered in white lines.
I don't think they were trying to block the eclipse, they were trying to block something else.
There were millions of eyes on the sky today when typically, nobody ever takes a second glimpse at the sky. There may be things up there they are in no control over and they are trying to hide it.
