If light takes 8-9 minutes to get here, then how does the alert arrive 8-9 minutes before that? Is there a probe on the Sun with FTL comms? Or am I just doing it wrong?

The concern is that every solar event breaks down our atmospheric “shields” to the point where the 5/6th event “could” cause electrical damage to the grid.

so cloudy here in northern vermont, I saw the north sky lit up like it was nyc 20 miles away though, and its usually pitch black, I live where there is very little light pollution, streaks of light coming from the bright spot, no colors though, the clouds were enough to diffuse the whole thing. I saw them here back in 2003. I guess having a clear sky for the total eclipse and a clear sky for the aurora is asking to much, the weather has been like Ireland here, bright sunny mornings, clouds come in by 9, then break briefly for sunset. The flares have def kicked up my auto immune issues though, have felt like I was hit by a truck and everything hurts.
The sun is at the highest point of coronal mass injections. Thats whats causing the sky event. I doubt it is harp. The sun goes through cycles from low to high. Once this high is finished it goes back to low CMI. While it is throwing out huge CMI it takes a few days too hit earth but once it comes through it can put out all electronics, cell phones, power grids etc. The last one this big was called the Carrington Event I believe it was 1889 and it caused a communication black out through out the entire world.
I dont know about you but here in Canada last night was the most magnificent light show I have ever seen in the skys. Caused by the CMIs.

What if... Haarp is timed to coincide with a very active sun. Much is visible. Millions are witnesses. Then a few months from now they say another one is happening but it's 100 times more powerful. People having seen the first one believe the story and expect the worst. Only this time it is much less visible because..?

I hope I can see it. Seems like every area saw it last night except my county in North Carolina. One hour ago the moon was bright and beautiful. Now it’s not in sight, dang clouds! I’ve got the alarm set to see if it’s visible. I’ve wanted to see the northern lights as long as I can remember. My granddad used to tell me about them. This way before the technical boom. He probably learned about them growing up listening to the radio.

Put on your eclipse glasses and look at the sun,solar flares are supposed to be visible.
My neighbor did that; said he could see a funky-looking spot on the sun.
That proves its not HAARP then.
