Everything else can go fuck off.
That's why I still have this: Honeywell Thermostat
That bad boy has been around since the 50's and still works great.
'50's is when mine was installed. Bulletproof.
Why wouldn't it? No ICs. No small electronics. Little cheap plastics.
Can't hack that! Remember when people in Texas learned the hard way about smart thermostats when the energy provider was remotely changing them? Eff that.
Mine isn't quite that old fashioned but it's close. Lol it's not smart anything - tap up for warmer, tap down for cooler. Don't forget to replace batteries periodically lol.
ditto
haha! we do too!!
This exactly.
If the country has energy to spare for 10’s of millions of illegals to come here then it has energy for you to set your thermostat.
Not to mention all these "data centers" that seem to pop up out of nowhere overnight.
I agree with you.
Fuck, that's why I pay the electricity bill.
82 when sleeping... I'd never fucking sleep.
Might as well just open all the windows.
I have to have mine at 63 with a fan to sleep. Either that or a wet sheet and a fan.
Assists with depopulation.
I'm old enough to remember when President Jimmy Carter, while sitting in the White House and wearing a sweater, told us to lower the thermostat in the winter because we were going to run out of oil in a few years. Climate change then meant the Earth was getting colder.
In front of fireplace,..he put solar panels on white house... Reagan took them down
Ronnie took that shit down on day 1!
I forgot about the solar panels. I'm old enough to remember but also old enough to start forgetting I guess. Yikes!
Odd and even gas days where you could only get ten gallons...people ran out of gas in line
55 MPH freeways saved the world!
How bought the try at liters for gas..no one knew what they were getting..or the streetlights out to save energy
I don't recall the liters for gas, but I remember the rationing and the Time magazine cover warning about the coming ice age. '77 or '78 I think, and when gas doubled and shot up to 68 cents a gallon I thought my hot rodding days were over. Somehow we survived without AOC or Greta. Maybe we were just tougher then, kek.
Remember Jimmy getting his ass kicked by a swamp rabbit?
Ha ha ha yup! There was a pic wasn't there, of a Secret Service or somebody wielding an oar?

82 for sleeping? More like 10-15 degrees below that for me.
Same. I am menopausal and have had sinus problems my entire life that get worse when I get hot. At night, my AC goes down to 62 or I can't sleep.
I figure I make up for it in the winter, because I never have the heat above 62 during the day and turn it down to 57 at night. It's a bit chilly, but I can breathe. People come into the place and say it feels like a meat locker. Me: "Put on a sweater." My husband is fine with it. In fact, he'd like it colder, lol.
Yeah this don’t work in the south sorry deep state faggots.
Up vote for "deep state faggots."
Recommend sleep temperature for good sleep: 60-69.
They don't want us to sleep well because sleep deprived people are easier to influence and control.
Be sure to get your “smart” thermostat so one day it will be a mandatory choice.
We have two smart thermostats in the house. I signed one of them up (upstairs - and Master Bedroom is downstairs) for the Duke Power "management" program and get a yearly $25 discount. (It's not much but 'why not?') The upstairs thermostat is ONLY turned on the one or two times a year when a daughter/family visits.
Does it connect to your home Wi-Fi?
If so, it might be spying on you.
Wouldn't make a difference anyway for me, at least in terms of my bill amount. Close to 40% of my Georgia Power bill is fees/surcharges, so I could do their recommendations, die of heat exhaustion, and my bill would still be over $500 in the summer.
Nope.
Turning off the propaganda machine is also effective.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA not gonna EVER happen in this house. Lordy!!! Way too hot.
Eat a Dick bbb .
Whenever news tells me to ease off air conditioning...I crank it it do laundry and run dishwasher
And turn all the lights on and keep all the doors open, even the refrigerator lol
How about you idiots at the DoE build back some nuclear power plants you bunch of fucking hippies. Nuclear power plants are so safe now that we put them in metal tubes under water and let sailors sleep next to them, we put them on ships the size of small towns and power that ship for 30 years. We have the solutions, use them.
Yeah, that's bullshit.
76 during the day. 74 - 75 at night.
As Texans we're pretty used to the heat, but it has to run enough to keep the humidity wrung out of the house; especially at night for sleeping. We also make good use of ceiling fans.
I’d be sweating miserably
Big Brother is busy
69 year round. My bill has been about the same for 26 years, $120-131
My thermostat, my choice.
This looks about right for Wisconsin winters at my house.
I like 78 during the day, but I don't think it is natural to have it higher at night than during the day.
Never going to happen in my home.
I barely remember having a thermostat and can't imagine living in a steady indoor climate, but I still support people's freedom to choose their own thermostat setting.
I keep mine at 78 in zona
I’ll save these recommendations for this winter.
Thanks, gov.
This looks like the temps my elderly parents enjoy in their home. I joke with them that they're feeling the "cold touch of the grim reaper". For some reason they don't find that to be as amusing as I do.
The insanity of these recommendations is laughable. My Newfoundlands would be dead at these temps. Not to mention I'd never get a minute of sleep.
Hahahaha! My wife gets edgy if it gets up over 67 in here.
Seriously! I don’t think so.
if the electric grid cannot handle our home air conditioners, imagine if we had to rely on all electric for our cooking stoves and cars. why can't the libtards think past their nose??
Unfortunately that's pretty much how I've been living for the past few weeks. My AC broke and I still can't afford to fix/replace it. (Thanks inflation) Hopefully get it back up soon, I'm sick of sleeping in a 80+ degrees room
Sweat it out you fat bastard
That's a good way to have mold grow in your home. Anything above 80 degrees inside.
Living in the Arab Gulf, I set my split AC to turn off a few minutes before I needed to wake up. The increase in body temperature is very effective at helping one to wake up.
Who can sleep in 82F and makes it hotter than day time for sleeping?
Well, daytime here is currently 93-96 degrees with 90% humidity. Mine is set at 67 at night to sleep and 69 during the day.
