I went to 2 different wally worlds in Siloam springs yesterday to get tp. Shelves were depleted. Had to buy what was avail, only 1ply and 1 pack of Charmin at the last one.
Anyone else seeing empty tp shelves? Paper towels were not empty like tp tho.
The dollar will collapse, and TP will be the new form of currency.
its worth more
Dollars aren't nearly as good at wiping your ass. Kek!
Actually yes, I thought it was random tho. No TP at Costco. All wiped out....pun intended
All you plebs using TP so schmear the poo on your bungholes.
Time to upgrade to a poor man cold water bidet. The cold water will wake you up faster than a cup of coffee.
For extra points, use your own assigned wash cloth to dab dry. Swap and wash it every few days. Otherwise a square or 2 of TP is all that's needed.
All you hairy dudes out there, we all know it's like peanut butter on a shag carpet down there. The spray cleans better that wiping alone. CURES most of your itchy problems back there too!
lol
That’s gross. use your wash cloth to dab dry? Wash it every 2 days…. No offense, I’m advising folks to not visit you….lol
e. coli has found a nice home though ….lol
It's a very foreign concept to most people. It's a cloth used solely for the dab dry. It's folded and stored and used for nothing else. If used and stored properly and post commode sanitation practices are followed, it's not a problem.
Your phone you hold while you shit, set down to wipe and then pick back up is a greater concern when it comes to harboring your e.coli.
Are you doing this because you are very frugal, poor, or just….different?
Some things lend themselves to disposable items… Like Qtips (Just kidding on all this, just poking fun, you are free to do whatever you like)
I myself am a bidet and a couple squares of TP guy. The cloth method is not my cup of tea but if things get worse and supplies truly become scarce, I'll go for it.
The other method for the cloth is to have a large pack of 1 time use cloths similar to reusable diapers. Use em once, and do the laundry when your low. It sounds gross but after a proper spritz, you're not wiping huge schmears of poo off your bum onto the cloth.
When supplies become scarce, and adequate planning was not done....people will resort to all sorts of things...
Like I said, I'm just poking fun....
This is a whole thread I have never imagined reading. Part of me wishes I hadn't. Part of me is intrigued.
I too felt myself swirling around down this toilet hole. Can't believe I took the time to read it all!
While I am here, I will say this.
Shit before you shower and there is no need for any TP, rags, or anything else. Just use a bar of soap and thoroughly clean yourself up. Problem solved.
That's what third-worlders do. Actually, they use a dipper with one hand and soap in the other. Pouring water. The only problem is that you gotta bring your own soap, because bathrooms without TP rarely have soap.
Shaking hands and hugs aren't as popular in some parts of the world.
As a big man, I sit on a towel/mat that hangs over the tub. Bidets are the only way.
a cheap bidet attachment was the best 30 bucks ive ever spent in my life. going out of town turned into being a literal pain in the ass though...
Pack them wet wipes!
You just had to go there,KEK
There is this Asian YouTube protologist who says a dime-sized skid mark is ok because over-wiping can cause irritation and lead to infection. Heh heh.
I like your bidet with a sheet or 2 of TP for drying, it worked well when I was living in the Philippines.
My tip for third world living in hot climate: Wear swimming pants with liner along with underwear. That way if you forget to bring TP along when out of the house you can sacrifice the underwear and still have the swimming trunks liner for support. Toilet Paper is a luxury in most of the world and isn't provided in many bathrooms.
Saw this last week in NH prior to the port strike ending. People were filling their cars with it, isles empty. They can’t understand that we don’t import TP.
They were creating a shortage that didn’t exist by doing the panic buying.
Fear based decision making rarely ends well.
It is ignorant to think that way. If I was worried about shortage I would stock up on food. Paper would be the very LAST thing I would worry about. There are so many ways around that issue.
Seriously, if you don’t have food the other end don’t matter! Also TP is a fairly recent invention, we’ve survived without it but not without food and water.
But if it is available, why resort to leaves and twigs if you don’t have to?
Anyone who knows a little about the average intelligence and human nature of people knew TP, and other things would be hoarded by those afraid of the Port strike and weather events….
If someone isn’t always prepared for the SHTF….you should be.
So buy 5% extra stuff and build up your preps over time without screwing over everyone else?
How would people be screwed over if everyone followed your advice? Then everyone would, by definition, be prepared. And you said TP isn’t needed, so enjoy your leaves and twigs…
They wouldn’t be screwed over if they build their prep slowly like I suggest. It’s when they buy carloads at once out of fear that it ruins it for everyone else, needlessly.
Paper Mills going Whrrr... Heh heh
I guess people haven't learned to prep? /facepalm
Doesn't anyone bulk buy in prepperville from Sam's anymore, besides me?? I have CASES of TP (from months ago)
I've just always bought the largest size package of toilet paper I could find for each bathroom as a matter of practice. Get a new one when the old/current pack is at about half.
Shows how effective the brainwashing is. It all started with media psyops and now the plebs rush to bulk buy their security blanket TP any time they feel scared and insecure.
Dang. Guess I’m back to folding one square.
A carnivore diet uses almost 100% of the nutrients in beef so you go potty infrequently. Save the planet. Go carnivore.
My wife's mother, may she rest in peace, claimed she only pooped every 3 days most of the time. She was eating pork and fish. Beef in the Philippines is poor quality and expensive, and she didn't like chicken.
Yes pretty empty in Wichita Falls Texas the other day, Sam's was wiped out completely
I was born in Witchita as an AF brat.
Well I am actually from Corpus Christi
Shelves are full in Northern Nevada. Either people don't have the money to buy it or they remember the empty shelves during COVID so they stay stocked up.
No organic vegetables or fruits in my town
On Monday there was plenty of TP at Sam's. But yesterday at our Walmart, it was completely out of stock. I'm in the middle of Missouri.
yes here to they ran the tp at costco here in MI
Once bitten, twice shy.
Don't forget to look in Home Depot and Lowe's, they usually sell tp for the contractors.
The strike is over-unless these places are affected by Helene and Milton- my question is why? Panic buying? DS f’ing with supply chain? Bird flu is not rampant, yet…
Try asking one of the store employees (if you can actually find one) if they have any in the back. During the plandemic when all of the shelves were mostly bare, I took a look through the window leading to the stock room. The shelves back there were filled with merch from floor to ceiling. Surprise, surprise.
Baby wipes however are still widely available - just shouldnt be flushed, so dont forget good small sized trash bags.
TP is the last affordable luxury and convenience for everyone. So, there's a very strong psychological desire to never run out.
i wonder if it's the couple days of port strike catching up to us, grocery store had a lot of empty shelves for a wednesday afternoon here in ME.
Folks just do a bidet... fancy or home made, this YT has you covered
Could be relate to the border.
Is there some do-gooder organization out there educating illegals as to what TP is, and how to use it?
I have two homes, and a total of 3 bathrooms. After the plandemic hiney wipe fiasco, I installed bidens(bidets) on all of them. Since I'm on a septic system, my maintenance guy said it's also the best thing for the septic also. Less solids buildup, less pump out intervals. So, saving money two ways. No Tp bought, and less septic pump outs. Good advice for frens with septic systems. Spend a little extra and get a heated biden. Especially if you have a well water system. That water is cold coming out of the ground! Mine is 700ft deep
The TP hoarders are probably the people on Ozempic!
When I was young (many, MANY years ago) a lot of the old-timers still used corn cobs..
Future Mars Citizen: "Well fuck, there's a Hurricane on Earth Martha better hit Costco up for TP before it's all gone"
Order a stockup from Office Depot. I found they had it when this problem showed up last time.
Every fall, usually late fall, I do a winter stock up on paper products, cleaning products, and such. Ok so this year I decided to do it earlier bc of the peculiarity of this election. This was about 4-5 days before Helene. I went to BJs. Was able to purchase just about everything, except TP, which they were out of. Went home, unpacked, put everything away. Spouse didn’t like the idea of running out of TP and decided to go check the local Acme. There, too, TP shelves were empty, but on the floor were 3 or 4 opened cases of Scott’s 12-packs TP. So spouse grabbed two 12 packs. Felt guilty later, asked should they take one pack back? I said hell no. We have a large family and we will be the first to be asked if we have any extra rolls. I reminded them during the great scamdemic of 2020-2021, we were able to ship 6 rolls of TP to our nephew in Michigan, 500 miles away, who couldn’t find any TP anywhere and had two children in diapers. In my view, it’s only hoarding when you’’re unwilling to share with the ones you love. Otherwise, it’s just prudent.
Yup, I've seen it. Went to Costco, and they were 100% out of TP and paper towels. People are stupid and hoard the wrong things. Good! Keep hording that while the rest of us get the stuff that will actually matter. Retards.
Saw the same thing at my nearby store here in the Midwest. It doesn't seem like hoarding though, it looks like a supply issue
Everyone panicked about the port strike and hoarded stuff.
Spend $40 on a cheap bidet and be done with relying on TP. It's used more for a little drying after that, meaning far less needed. Just turn the knob slowly, the first time around, if you got monster water pressure, or you'll get the shock of a lifetime.
Invest in a bidet. Got one just before Covid and it was a bum saver.
If you have girls in the house, get a bidet with a strong & soft setting.
Neo 180 for both genders-
Neo 120 for just the bum.
My boys & I didn't use TP during the Covid problems (we have multiple rolls stored up for emergencies). Just a towel to dry off.
I only got a Neo 120 before COVID happened ($20 then), and my wife lovingly let me know it was a man's bidet & not for all the female parts.
I tried the one her parents have & it couldn't spray away anything that clings, but it would have washed lady bits nicely. Still better than nothing.
This was a simple install, tools included. Works on both round & oval toilets (oval best with where the spray comes out), and with dual pressures everyone can use them.
If you ever plan to have a lady around, spring the extra $5 for them, you will be a hero.
edit - simple install = gravity works. Turn off the water to the toilet, flush the tank, have a bowl to catch any residual water (or wet vac the rest out). The instructions were easy enough.
