Dear Lord, strengthen grtdayn & her husband with your presence. Let your peace surround them & allay their fears. Comfort them with your promise of salvation through Christ Jesus. Grant his surgeon's to be extensions of your healing hands that the surgery go well & recovery is without setbacks. Fill them with your Spirit that they know you. Guide them in your Word that they have the sure footing of your gospel. Be their rock & their refuge & may they give you all the glory. I ask this in Jesus' Mighty name, Amen.

Praying for both of you

I'll be praying for your husband. And I can tell you, from experience, he's gonna have the absolute worse sore throat he's ever had in his existence on earth! I pray he gets a good pain killer for a few days anyway. Now, as for meals, because swallowing will be torture, I highly recommend eggs. Any way he likes them. They go down easiest for me! And when he finally feels like he can eat something a little less soft, take small bites, and chew thoroughly. Also, have the surgeon test his testosterone after surgery. In my case, the "cocktail" they knocked me out with, interrupted my testosterone production. I had to get a testosterone injection. And that felt like shoving motor oil under the muscle of me back side! Not fun at all. But the testosterone is essential to build bone in the area. So glad it only took one injection for me. He'll feel much better afterwards. I waited 18 years taking steroid injections for pain in my neck and right arm before getting a double disk removal with fusion. Oh, ask the surgeon for a flight card too. Anywhere he has to go through a metal detector, just show the card and he gets through. Works good at the airport. Prayers up!

A neighbor had a vertebra in his neck replaced with a metal cage because the bone was crumbling. Afterwards it was discovered that the surgeon replaced the wrong vertebra. 16 years later he's still walking and talking. So things can go wrong but it's not always bad. In fact it makes me wonder if he even needed an operation. Wishing your husband all the best for a good outcome. A worrying time for you both but it's lovely that you are supportive of him!

There was a video a few months back where a surgeon who performed back surgeries was telling everyone that he was quitting because it was all bullshit. Just a way for the hospital to make money but the surgery he would do for people did not fix anything. The people who got better changed their diet and lifestyle.

The only thing that can heal you is your own body.
