Thats Kinda how I feel when I see these big brands switching to healthy options after a lifetime if poisoning us. No thank you, ill reserve my support for grassroots companies that have never used pharmakia (chemicals) in thier products. We can't trust these big franchises and companies with that much power (money) ever again. They will just funnel it to our enemies once again and we will be back to square one.
Those local joints that give the impression they're a safer bet, MANY times source their swill from the Sysco truck.
Unless you know for a fact it's not the case...The phrase, "don't be fooled" applies here.
Humanity has gotten REALLY lazy in the past few decades and I don't think for one second that a non-franchise restaurant already running on fumes and razor thin margins, isn't also going to just buy the premade Sysco shit...
Next time you're out have a look at an Arby's sign... that's no cowboy hat. More like a cowboy "helmet" 😂
Lazy is part of it. Another is hidden inflation that forces this lowest-common-denominator crap for economic survival. People won't pay $25 for a single grass-fed beef burger and fries done in tallow even though that's probably what every burger joint including McDonald's used to sell for a quarter in the 1950s. Inflation made them cut costs, cut quality, and consolidate for economies of scale. Corporations may be evil, but not as evil as the banksters that set the economic realities they do business under.
Yup. I don't care how conservative target might wind up going (if they ever do) I will never shop there. I have a memory like an elephant. So many brands will never get my money again.
Vegans. They say it’s healthy so it must be so! Total and complete lies. Think biblical. Exodus. How did God help Moses feed 60,000 people? Had to carry itself, had to reproduce on the run, had to be nutritionally complete for the body humans, had to survive the elements. Oh and God liked the smell of meat cooking!
Back in the Seventy's KFC came out with Extra crispy chicken and was cooked in lard and was ABSOLUTELY FUCKIN DELISICIOUS and Hardee's fries were ABSOLUTELY FUCKIN DELISICIOUS ,then everything went to shit ,fries uneditable everywhere.MALA
My wife tells me that recently, there have been others but she did not recall who. Our whole family is into this beef tallow stuff, hair care, skin care and beard care. Works pretty good.
They fired all their wait staff and started making customers order through a kiosk. No cash accepted. And you can't order a Frisco melt without the sauce. I stopped going.
Easy to render. Don't ever throw away trimmings. Put it in a Dutch oven and stick it in the oven at 200, 225 degrees. Takes a few hours. Strain it through a fine seive or cheesecloth. Use the left over bits and pieces to make gravy or stock.
Steak & Shake...Our meat can't be beat...
In Sight it Must be Right
What stopped them from doing this earlier?

Verboten contraband around these parts...
Good luck getting a salad at ANY restaurant not drowning in that swill...
If people don’t demand it you can’t expect a profit driven company to want to spend more money than their competitors.
Money

For what it's worth, Popeyes chicken has always used beef tallow.
Good to know.
No wonder people were fighting over them. :)
Love the steak burger and Chili 5 Ways.
Went to my first one in the 50's in Florida when I was a young whippersnapper.
Now live 10 minutes from one, life is good. Also have a Culver's down the road from them.
O.o not a fast food guy at all, but Culver's is VERY solid. Those butterburgers are a guilty pleasure for me.

Same! I even make my own lotion from it
I used to love the Frisco burger and shoestring fries, sadly there are no steak n shakes around here.
My favorite burger joint from the 1970s. All gone in my town too; one of them turned into cannabis store that never has any cars in the lot.
They fired all their wait staff and started making customers order through a kiosk. No cash accepted. And you can't order a Frisco melt without the sauce. I stopped going.
Drive thru still has humans
I can only assume this exists only in American states and not in democrat states

We used to go out drinking followed by either steak n shake, Dennys, rams horn, or a Coney island on the way home.
