The 66 books of the Bible are the ones without historical inaccuracies and don’t contradict doctrine from known biblical writers. Also, the authors of many of the apocryphal books are known to be liars or frauds. Some of the books do contain useful information but it is NOT to be counted as the inspired Word of God.
The catholic Bible uses many of these apocryphal books to justify pergatory, praying to saints, and almsgiving. None of these things are mentioned by Jesus. Also, the members of the early church did not rely on the apocryphal books, and we don’t have the same breadth of copies to attest that what is being produced is what was written. With the 66 books, they have all undergone extensive authentication and are consistently confirmed by historical discoveries, such as the Dead Sea scrolls and other papyrus found in jars in the region.
I don’t know about you, but I trust the things Jesus said directly and don’t need anything else.
“If anyone preaches any other gospel… let him be accursed.” — Galatians 1:8
Well done! Good and faithful! Think of it, paying for a mass to get someone out of purgatory! This is in direct contrast to the word of God, God says "Without the shedding of innocent blood (there is no remission) of sins"(Hebrews 9:22) only Christ's blood was innocent for He never sinned, and only his blood can wash away sin. If you could redeem a sinner from purgatory, by simply paying for a mass, what would you need Jesus for, you would only need money, that's why God warned us in (Psalms 49:8) saying," THERE IS NOT ENOUGH MONEY IN THE WHOLE EARTH TO RANSOM ONE MAN'S SOUL" (Praying to Mary) Mary was not sinless, as proven by the scriptures, for Mary herself said, "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in GOD MY SAVIOR"(Luke 1:46) Mary called God her savior, someone who has not sinned does not need a savior, Praying to Mary is in direct contrast to the word of God, Jesus himself said, "if anyone tries to come to the Father, any other way, then by me, he is a thief and a robber"(John 10:1, John 14:6) It's clear, If Mary could deliver us what would we need Christ for? Satan is always trying to get us to depend on something other than Christ. This is the reason these things and many more were left out of the 66 books. Everything for our mental, physical and spiritual, needs in this life as described in 3John 1:2, are contained in the promises found in the 66 books, God left nothing out. The Holy Spirit our teacher, helps us to rightly divide, understand and receive what is written, we lack nothing. I write these things as a second witness to confirm what you have written. "Out of the month of 2 or 3 witnesses let every word be established"(2 Corinthians 13:1) 🙏
The Book of Enoch is cited in the New Testament, specifically in the Epistle of Jude (Jude 1:14-15), where it references a prophecy attributed to Enoch. This connection indicates that the authors of the New Testament were familiar with its content, although the book itself is not considered canonical by most Christian and Jewish traditions.
themes of the book referenced in 2 Peter 2:1. Also, the first 36 chapters have been considered Scripture in the Ethiopic Coptic Church (a church who ascribes their founder as the Apostle John).
Jesus referred to The Book of Enoch; “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” (Mat 5:5) pulled from “The elect shall possess light, joy and peace, and they shall inherit the earth. (Enoch 5:7 {6:9})”
All this noted, I would tend to suspect that it’s not inspired scripture, without some very good work done and a confirmation from the Holy Spirit.
For all the Schofield talk below, it’s not in the Catholic Bible, either.
I’m not aware of any salvific differences with Enoch, which would mean it’s a debate over historical truth, yes? If so, is it worth the division, when it can’t truly be confirmed?
It seems like a nice story to hold in the “maybe” narrative paths to me, at best, assuming it’s not partially false.
Historians put the book of Enoch’s composition date sometime between 300 and 200 B.C. This places it as being written between the Old and New Testaments (The KJV Study Bible, Barbour Publishing 2011). The Encyclopedia Britannica notes that the book is a collection of many pieces, so some parts are older than others. There is much speculation about who authored the book—since it has many pieces, it probably has many authors. Regardless, there is no factual evidence that Enoch was the actual author. The fact that the book was written only a couple hundred years before Jesus was born makes it extremely unlikely that anything in it could be from the real Enoch.
The thing is, just because the book of Enoch is not in the Bible. Does it mean that people still can’t read it and gather knowledge from it. It’s just not to be confused with the actual word of God. I think there are many books throughout the ages of people can gain knowledge from that point to God and Christ.
I don’t disagree with that statement, and take that stance on other works that a lot of people here don’t appreciate. Just be careful to keep them all in question, where some parts are good, some bad, none authoritative, and weigh all conclusions against scripture being sure to check the original words used in the original language, because while scripture is accurate, many translations are not.
So Christian's got it wrong for 1,500 years until Martin Luther came around, broke his vows, married a Nun & removed books (that 1st Century Christ-Killing Jews also wanted gone) and Luther simply added words to justify his new Theology?
The original 66 books were the only books until the early Catholic Church started to meet and need justification for their doctrines. If you actually look at the early church in Acts they only reference the original writings from Luke, John, Matthew, Mark, James, and Paul.
Apocrypha, the collection of Jewish writings composed during the time between the Old and New Testaments (400 BC to the first century AD). These books were accepted by the early Christian Church (composed of the Jewish Apostles) & these books were only protested after early Christians began to use it & protested by (Christ killing) Jews in 90 AD, sixty-six years after the same Jews killed Christ.
The Jewish scholars at Jabneh (c. A.D. 90) did not accept the Apocrypha as part of the divinely inspired Jewish canon. Since the New Testament explicitly states that Israel was entrusted with the oracles of God and was the recipient of the covenants and the Law (Rom. 3:2), the Jews should be considered the custodians of the limits of their own canon...
Catholics & Orthodox follow what the early Church believed. Protestants side with the people who killed Christ. Basically, Protestants are Jews who eat pork.
Yet Pauls gospel is different from Jesus. Throughout Galatians and elsewhere in his letters Paul attacks the law, says it is over and of no use. Yet frequently quotes it! Doubleminded!
Jesus however says - Matthew 5:17-20 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Did you read it '... till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled' since many prophesies remain to be filled time of Jacobs trouble, Gog of Mago Ezk 38/39 invasion and much more, - even Jesus return not yet fulfilled - so then all is not fulfilled and by Jesus words is not done away with.
Even Paul himself continued to live under the law! Acts 21:24 Take them and be purified with them, and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads, and that all may know that those things of which they were informed concerning you are nothing, but that you yourself also walk orderly and keep the law.
Paul demonstrates he walks orderly according to the law.
The New Covenant we read of in Hebrews 8 is repeated verbatim from Jeremiah 31:33 and following "But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts" - what law was in view? Mosaic law! What changes - the Covenant from Sinai is conditional required Israel to obey God's commandments, the New Covenant is the same but is unconditional on mans performance God/Christ does it all!
Some people (even some here) ignore those plain and direct words of God / Jesus. They are so embedded in the TRADITIONS of men that they’ll deny the law.
PS. And they’ll cry and whine when confronted with these facts because they are deceived by their so called “preachers” / “priests”. Sad but true.
PSS. I don’t claim to know all or be better than anyone (quite the opposite), but the word is the word … and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
Paul was raised as a Pharisee and so yes, of course he talks about the old law, but it was fulfilled. That’s the whole point of acts 26. Paul also went out of his way to appease both Gentiles and Jews. Not sure what you’re trying to prove here?
Appease is indeed a relevant word here - what it actually means is 'I don't care what God says ...' Is He the God of Confusion (appeasement) Certainly Not! Appeasement is a fraud on the people! Paul lived his life fully observant of Torah Acts 21:24 as indeed did Jesus and at no time did He teach differently - who died for you?
Absolutely nowhere does Jesus say the Old Covenant has passed away, indeed only Paul says it, Hebrews says to the contrary:
Hebrews 8:13 In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
So at the time of writing Hebrews the writer makes very clear the Old Covenant had not passed away it was growing old etc so either the Old Covenant passed away at Christ's resurrection or it did not as indeed Jesus made clear in the Sermon on the Mount Matthew 5:17-20.
If you are not sure then I suggest you actually read and understand what Jesus said!
Jesus did say he did not come to abolish the old law but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:16). We are fully under both laws but the new covenant that Jesus outlines in the Sermon on the Mount concerns your heart and not just your actions. Still not sure what your point is, are you trying to say Paul writes contrary to what Jesus taught?
I think you mean 5:17 but all is not yet fulfilled eventually by the end of the Millennial Reign it will be but not till then.
Matthew 5:18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
Has heaven and earth passed away? Not the last time I looked - Jesus' own words are clear it has not yet passed away so the Old - better former - covenant is still in place.
Indeed as Jeremiah 31:31ff is clear the New Covenant is the same as he Old! The difference is at Sinai it was conditional, The New will be unconditional.
The Church keeps saying it has gone, and this was the continual thrust of Paul's 'gospel' and his letters.
Paul writes contrary to Jesus teaching in many many places.
Because the Rothschilds hired a "reverend" name Schofield back in the early 1900s to change the wording to the the traditional Bible to make it more zionist friendly. Since they own the Oxford Press, they determine what gets printed or not. Don't believe me? Look up the "Schofield bible" and research it yourself.
Haha. Point taken. I'm pretty relaxed all in all but thanks for the video.
Trying to teach others about how deep the corruption goes and for how long its been going on is like trying to teach old people how to use the internet over the phone. It's impossible.
Please provide evidence that Schofield actually changed the wording of what you label as “the traditional Bible”.
There are a problems with your claim. Here are but a few:
To suggest God’s Word was changed is a direct challenge to His sovereignty over His Word.
I believe the Scholfield Bible was merely a traditional Bible with Scholfield’s notes added to it. No biblical text was changed. It is a common practice among Bible scholars and pastors. None of them have been accused of changing the wording of the Bible.
There are many historic documents that verify biblical text because they all match. Including multiples of the many authors works that make up the modern Bible as we know it. It’s not like Scholfield can just come along and decide to change biblical text without the support of said historical documents.
The book of Enoch is not the word of God. After reading the Bible for decades I can tell it’s not written in the same voice. That is why scholars do not consider it part of the cannon of scripture. It is a historical account as referenced by Jude. But I ‘hear’ a different tone and the personification is just unexplainably different.
66, 88, 102…..is there not enough scripture in 1, 2, or 3 books that have redemptive qualities to be saved? Few read the Bible in its entirety anyhow. It’s why the elect are being deceived about Judeo Christian values.
While it may not be inspired scripture, it is as you attest a historical account as referenced by Jude. This reference by Jude is important in that the followers of Christ knew what was contained in the book of Enoch. Also, it’s important to note that the Angelic View of Genesis 6 and the rest of the Old Testament were the accepted view of the Early Church Fathers. The Sethite view was introduced later.
Also, the Apocrypha was not written by the Apostles and appears to not have been divinely inspired with guidance from the Holy Spirit (the "voice" mentioned above).
2Tim 3:16: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"
God tells us his Word will be preserved and has been for thousands of years, without the Apocrypha included.
Ps 12:6-7: "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."
Funny enough, 1st century Christ Killing Jews also didnt want those books in to be included in the old testament. They didnt have a problem with them before they killed Christ & persecuted the early church, but they couldn't deal with them after the early church used them.
I'll stick with what the early church believed, thanks anyway!
No Movies to Beta test ideas back in the day. Nor quick ways to spread the books. By the time the book was spread wide enough to get data it would then be nearly impossible to memory hole it.
But the basic principle remains from the beginning :
"Come on, let us go down, and there confound their language, that everyone perceive not another’s speech." ---Genesis 11:7 --1599 Geneva
The book of Enoch was removed because it implies we were visited by extraterrestrials, which, if true, would blow apart the whole God concept in the Bible.
The Catholic Bible has 73 books, the Protestant Bible has 66.
The Catholic version of the Bible became church dogma at the Council of Trent in 1546.
Martin Luther removed the 7 books of the Bible: Martin Luther rejected the deuterocanonical books because they were written after God stopped speaking to the Prophets. He called them "Apocrypha, that are books which are not considered equal to the Holy Scriptures, but are useful and good to read." Luther believed these books were valuable but not essential to the Christian faith.
Fun fact: Also originally removed by Martin Luther was Revelation. It was put back.
Removed by the Catholic canon: an epistle to the Laodecians. While scholars believe that Paul did in fact write an epistle to the Laodecians, almost all agree that this epistle in the Vulgate is a forgery.
There will be a lot of Hebrew, Greek and finally Latin in the study of this.
Eusebius also supports the decisions made at Trent in writings from a much earlier time period. They were already debating about which books were acceptable to read during mass in much earlier time.
IMHO, the bible's 66 books in the KJV were/are the inspired (and preserved) Word of God. Anything else that man has added by way of extra books or new age translations are abominations.
But 66 is wrong? The books of 1st & 2nd Samuel, Chronicles and Kings were originally 3 books, the 'minor prophets' were in a single book, so it never 66 books that is mans work from the 12th century onwards!
The Roman Catholic bible also includes the apocrypha. The Catholic church added these books to their canon because there's some support in the apocrypha for purgatory. There is no support for purgatory in the 66 books of the Bible. The early church did not include those books since they did not meet their criteria of Holy Scripture. The apocrypha is however, useful historical background information.
Here's a good article that discusses the book of Enoch:
https://www.gotquestions.org/book-of-Enoch.html
The entire old testament makes repeated references to the dome over the earth and the water that makes up the sky beyond the dome. It's all flat earth.
It would help to actually understand the issues involved in gnosis.
To understand principles is gnosis. To be handed explanations is considered 'profane'.
The information/knowledge behind the origin of the organization could be considered a form of gnosis. Misuse of this knowledge is a seperate issue. It isn't really taught in the modern degrees, the degrees are bought and so the whole organization has become either ignorant of the principles or twist it into blackhat agendas. Because knowledge is a powerful thing to use against the 'profane' who don't see it. The answer isn't to shun and ignore those who misread and twist, but rather to KNOW how their belief errors. To TAKE IT BACK. The meme/theme of Q which is Divine Inspiration.
ie: You can 'believe' Trump is going to do something, or you can 'know' what is coming by correctly parsing the Q posts. Knowledge over belief is True Faith that gets results.
The white gnostics of the Essenic community of Qumran called the profane 'seekers after smooth things'....easy answers. Hard work provides results as God helps those who help their selves.
One can look into the Council of Nicaea if one wants to understand how the process of forming the Biblical canon worked.
As a catechumen of the Eastern Orthodox church, this is discussed as part of catechism.
Our church has a tiered Canon, essentially. Highest is the 4 Gospels, then the epistles & letters of the New testament, then the Old testament which is read as a type or shadow of the new covenant. After this comes writings thought to be inspired but were not universally accepted at Nicaea, such as Enoch. Of course fully heretical texts as the various Gnostic texts from 2nd & 3rd century were excluded whole sale.
Luther made his own alterations, from what I know to match the masoretic OT, not realizing this Hebrew version was likely rewritten to remove as many references to Jesus as possible, to prevent conversion of Jews to Christianity. Also to support the Reformation (which ended up a rebellion and founding their own separate church).
My Latin teacher in high school used to tell us that the translation for the prayer at the end of mass was obviously mistranslated but (at the time) never fixed.
In English they said "the mass has ended, go in peace to love and serve the Lord, and one another"
But in Latin it said "the mass has not ended, but only begun, go in peace to love and serve the Lord, and one another"
Like maps , men do not chose all the same details . The one seeking needs to find the narrow path to his destination.
And yet some never miss the opportunity to miss an opportunity , so Jesus made the path possible for ALL. Seek and ye shall find. But many are deceived into believing the source of path is outside themselves. Fruit from the Tree of Knowledge created a curse and a blessing...Choose Wisely
"Neither shall men say, Lo here, or lo there: for behold, the kingdom of God is within you." -- Luke 17:21 --1599 Geneva
This is one of the stupidest arguments in Christianity. You believe in a God powerful enough to breathe entire galaxies into existence and powerful enough to design the intricate systems of cells and bodily functions that keep you alive, yet that very same God is not powerful enough to inspire and direct human minds to write, compile and produce His Word- our ONLY instruction as to who He is and what He wants other than Christ? That thinking is absolutely insane. Even the folks that put Jesus on the cross, having the most evil intentions at heart, were really being controlled by God to do His will for good and His glory.
The Bible, as it stands today, is exactly what God wants it to be.
Even the folks that put Jesus on the cross, having the most evil intentions at heart
Wat?
Jesus got killed more or less because he was popular and at risk to cause a revolution. Either to overthrow the Jewish religious leadership, or to fight Roman occupation. The Romans and Jews agreed to scratch each other's backs and eliminate a potential shared problem.
That's basic logic. It's "wrong" to kill someone but calling it even "evil" is a bit of a stretch, much less the "most evil". Biden is more evil than the people who killed Jesus.
Because ever Scholar believes what you just said.....NOT.
Jesus the Name above all NAMES....yet his name was NEVER JESUS, his mom never called him Jesus, no friends or relatives ever called him that. NO OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN WHERE YOU CAN BE SAVED....they screwed the name. Are you that blind friend. If the Name doesn't matter then why is it the only name that saves?
Maybe in the end you will wake up and find who did all this...Geez-Us. We are the Sons of God. The Father is here, the Sons are here. PROMISES MADE....PROMISES KEPT
I managed to complete listening to both Old and New Testament, took me 5 years more or less. In the end I realize after all these readings.. the "understand" part of the journey comes from our heart. Don't matter 66, 88, 500 books, like the Libtards..if you can't see or understand God, it doesn't matter how much you were shown, how much people tell you Jab is bad, God is real. They'd still be screaming "trust science" while not knowing what a woman is, or how forgiveness or hypocrisy works. .
back in the day they would only hear a few words from Jesus disciple or Jesus himself and people came from all over the world to follow him. A child , like I was, at age 7-8 only heard the story of Jesus and fell in love with Jesus immediate Knowing i was hearing the truth.
Faith is like a muscle - you work out everyday and apply it to your daily lives, see how God works and your faith grow stronger with every life’s challenge and daily grind if you’re willing to see it
because the additional 22 books are demonstrably not canonical... and its a lie that its much older. The oldest copy extant is a little more than a thousand years old.
If canonical status, -as you seem to view,... hinges on age or influence
you: Ethiopian bible is older than any other bible.
me: no it isn't
you: why are you worried about which is older?
Jude "quoting" (actually - paraphrasing) Enoch is not proof that the Book of Enoch is Canonical. I have read it as well as other Pseudo-scriptures and find them lacking. You assume that since I disagree with you I must never have studied them? Have you ever listened to or read anyone who gives evidence as to why they are not canonical? It's really an important point.
The "Book of Enoch" is a late writing that is full of brown stuff. The Apocrypha was always a part of the KJV until printers started leaving it out to make Bibles cheaper. Then Protestants thought that was the way it should be. Large family Bibles in the 1700s many times included the Apocrypha as well as the writings of the church fathers, such as Magnesians and Trallians. My Sunday school teacher brought her own Bible to class one Sunday back in the 1960s and showed it to us.
And thou Bethlehem Ephrathah art little to be among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me, that shall be the ruler in Israel: whose goings forth have been from the beginning and from everlasting.
While we’re at it, is anyone familiar with the theory that the New Testament order was changed to mislead? I ran into that years ago but have never run into it again…
So many internal contradictions in the Bible, it is clearly not “the word of God” in the sense Biblical fundamentalists believe. It is however the history of the Hebrews in their view over centuries that leads to the greatest story ever told in the Gospels - which is about Jesus Christ - and his ultimate injunction: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul. And love your neighbour as yourself.” Just do that.
Sadly many have used 'This is the word of God' as a way to control and/or crush anyone taking a different view.
The way to take the Bible is from the 40,000 ft view and see God's plan of redemption and salvation working out without getting tied up in minutia - but this is what happens when people claim the Bible is the inerrant word of God, it cannot be due to both transmission and translational errors.
IF you READ ENOCH you would understand one of the KEY ANSWERS lies in that book. I think the Bible stories did not all come from over there, but the ANSWERS LAY IN USA SOIL....if these were silent the very ROCKS would cry out. Me reading the Stones here shows perhaps some stole these stories from here in the USA.
Look a teacher or Pastor TAUGHT you to think what you think, because most never look beyond it. I have watched the Scholars for 40 years, study it, researched it.....still no CONCRETE ANSWERS. That all changed when I looked here in the USA
In the beginning was the WORD...if you start there I promise you will see it.
Hebrew no VOLWELS...but what if they wanted to HIDE it, can you UNCOVER it. Maybe some one did. Words are a Construct.
Exactly the opposite of English. The jews won't print the name of God, they miss out the vowel and print g*d instead saying its done out of respect. What if God in Hebrew means something anathema to jews?
The 39 Books of the OT were VERIFIED by nine other than our Lord Jesus. I figure since God is in control, He saved the NT writings from being destroyed and had them assembled for our learning. I'll stick with the Books we have in the Bible and please try and avoid deception!
The Hebrew Bible which you reference did not have 39 books! 1 & 2 Samuel, Kinmgs and Chronicles were 3 books not 6. The minor prophets were 1 book not 12, the Book of Daniel was not considered prophecy YET Jesus says it is Matthew 24:15.

Who is right Paul or Jesus?
Very well said.
This information is very important, in this day of itching ears. People believing anything they read, no matter the source or veracity.
Just had a discussion about Schofield at church last Lord's Day, praise God.
Schofield also introduced liberalism into the Bible.
Haha. Point taken. I'm pretty relaxed all in all but thanks for the video.
Trying to teach others about how deep the corruption goes and for how long its been going on is like trying to teach old people how to use the internet over the phone. It's impossible.
Your response made me lol!!
Because an ignorant populace is much easier to control.
Always circles back to "Useful Idiots"
The KJV originally contained the Apocrypha. It was first left out to save on printing costs.
Negative. Books were removed by "reformers". This is easily verifiable if one takes the time to research.
But 66 is wrong? The books of 1st & 2nd Samuel, Chronicles and Kings were originally 3 books, the 'minor prophets' were in a single book, so it never 66 books that is mans work from the 12th century onwards!
Why did King James spend a fortune to rush a new translation only a few years after 1599 - Geneva ?
The Roman Catholic bible also includes the apocrypha. The Catholic church added these books to their canon because there's some support in the apocrypha for purgatory. There is no support for purgatory in the 66 books of the Bible. The early church did not include those books since they did not meet their criteria of Holy Scripture. The apocrypha is however, useful historical background information. Here's a good article that discusses the book of Enoch: https://www.gotquestions.org/book-of-Enoch.html
Nope, the "reformers" (revolutionaries) removed them.
Book of Enoch supports flat earth cosmology
Book of Jasher supports flat earth cosmology
Book of Jubilees supports flat earth cosmology
These books are referencing and quoted in the 66 cannon
Might be why it was pulled out.....
At the time it was written, everyone thought the earth WAS flat.
Just doing some critical thinking, don't go flaming me for it.
Realize also that Jesus was Jewish at one point. I'll just put that out there as a "critical thinking" check.
The entire old testament makes repeated references to the dome over the earth and the water that makes up the sky beyond the dome. It's all flat earth.
Any books with gnostic connotations were shelved and the branches still deny their own roots.
The Apocrypha was in the KJV originally.
Thank you was about to point this out to the rabid crowd! There until late 19th century when some Americans objected!
Gnostics... like Freemasons? No thanks!
Reading many comments here people are clearly unaware of the many manuscripts used for various versions of the Bible do not agree at the detail level.
Matthew 17:21
NKJV - However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
ASV - verse missing
Darbys - But this kind does not go out but by prayer and fasting.
ESV - verse missing
HCSB in parenthesis thus not in their manuscript [ However, this kind does not come out except by prayer and fasting.]”
ISV But this kind does not come out except by prayer and fasting.”
KJV Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
NIV verse missing
YLT and this kind doth not go forth except in prayer and fasting.
So which is correct if all are the actual words of God? And this is only one example!
At the Macro 930,000 ft0 view the Bible taken as a whole is consistent but at the detail level there are significant differences!
My Latin teacher in high school used to tell us that the translation for the prayer at the end of mass was obviously mistranslated but (at the time) never fixed.
In English they said "the mass has ended, go in peace to love and serve the Lord, and one another"
But in Latin it said "the mass has not ended, but only begun, go in peace to love and serve the Lord, and one another"
Not sure if they've fixed it since or not.
The point of the story was even priests were often poor Latin scholars, translating can be tricky, and we should do better.
Bit like the Wicked Bible version which was printed, in error and was recalled and pulped - the 7th Commandment to read 'Thou shalt commit adultery'!
Come on.
Why would Luther add words to his version of the bible? What miracles did he perform?
Very welcome 🙂 pesky humans and their finite minds!
They'd still be screaming "trust science" while not knowing what a woman is, or how forgiveness or hypocrisy works. .
If you dont have the full bible, can you have the fullness of the faith?
Yes ABSOLUTELY
back in the day they would only hear a few words from Jesus disciple or Jesus himself and people came from all over the world to follow him. A child , like I was, at age 7-8 only heard the story of Jesus and fell in love with Jesus immediate Knowing i was hearing the truth.
Faith is like a muscle - you work out everyday and apply it to your daily lives, see how God works and your faith grow stronger with every life’s challenge and daily grind if you’re willing to see it
The kjb apologists have entered the chat
because the additional 22 books are demonstrably not canonical... and its a lie that its much older. The oldest copy extant is a little more than a thousand years old.
seriously.
no one is saying you can't read those books.
the argument of this post is that they should be included in the canon of scriptures. They clearly do not rise to that level.
and the "Book of watchers from 3rd/4th century" is only fragmentary.
there are older "fragments" of the NT. Papyrus 46 and 52 as well as the Bodmer Papyri for instance.
you: Ethiopian bible is older than any other bible.
me: no it isn't
you: why are you worried about which is older?
Jude "quoting" (actually - paraphrasing) Enoch is not proof that the Book of Enoch is Canonical. I have read it as well as other Pseudo-scriptures and find them lacking. You assume that since I disagree with you I must never have studied them? Have you ever listened to or read anyone who gives evidence as to why they are not canonical? It's really an important point.
I agree, this is subject to discussion. I've heard people say "God wrote the Bible". A lot of human strategy went into it.
Understand it is still Gods word. Each book is Gods message, each is complete
I like Maccabees, full of the twists and turns of warfare, prophecy, betrayal and holiness.
It also highlights the 2,000 years old belief in purgatory... which is why Prots had to remove it!
Micha ,cliff note version?
Micah 5:2 --1599 Geneva Bible
And thou Bethlehem Ephrathah art little to be among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me, that shall be the ruler in Israel: whose goings forth have been from the beginning and from everlasting.

Here’s an interesting podcast related for anyone interested: https://alfavedic.podbean.com/e/274-breaking-down-the-bible-conspiracy-w-dr-stephen-pidgeon/
While we’re at it, is anyone familiar with the theory that the New Testament order was changed to mislead? I ran into that years ago but have never run into it again…
Hmmmm. 66 books versus 88 books.
Name a couple of them then, handshake

Hebrew is a strange language, every word has meaning and every letter in these words has a meaning to itself.
How else can you have a living breathing language ?
All you need is a leader with the appropriate authoritiii to make is say whatever is needed at the moment.
"Come on, let us go down, and there confound their language, that everyone perceive not another’s speech." -- Genesis 11:7 --1599 Geneva
Picky, picky, picky! Kek
The text all should be reviewed by Christian only leaders.
