Many young people today just don't get it. They expect to have a first shift job as there first full time job. They expect the same pay as the guy with 20 years experience.

They just expect. Where I'm at. We can't fill the jobs. When we do about half are gone within 4 months. $31+ an hour to start as the lowest pay.

When I was young. I worked during the Carter misery index days. Because I wanted a job. You can always make it in America. Many of my friends mowed yards and such. They are quite successful in landscaping/concrete today. There were some who would rather smoke pot in moms basement then work. Almost to a man their plan is waiting for parents to die to get their home.

Lack of effort is not new. But it is more wide spread.

Libtards love to say they are smart because they have degrees. Huh? Being a hundred thousand dollars in debt with a useless degree and working at Burger King does not make you smart.

When a person wastes his time getting a made-up degree and laments that once he graduates he can't find a job that needs his made-up degree, it is evident that he didn't learn any marketable skills while in college. Ending DEI wiped out lots of worthless jobs wit worthless degrees. We all know the degrees. Women's Studies, Gay Studies, African-Latino- (fill in the blank) studies. WORTHLESS. NO JOBS AVAILABLE. Go back to college and get a degree in something useful, or learn to say, "WOULD YOU LIKE TO SUPERSIZE YOUR ORDER".

Even the most sarcastic comments on X are speaking useful truth to this (insert adjective here) behavioral scientist. I doubt she will recognize it, much less apply any of it to alter her own behavior. I know whereof I speak. Many, many years ago, in the age of mechanical phones and cameras with film, I graduated with the belief that I was invaluable because of my impressive talent and superb education. I wouldn't take any work that was "beneath me," and as you can imagine, the world beat it out of me until I became sensible to reality. In my experience the more arrogant you are, the worse the beating will be, and that's not a bad thing. "The blueness of a wound cleanseth away sin."

I would like to stray off-topic after noticing some sympathetic comments, which I would be willing to bet are coming from people sporting the "Don't lick me" toxicity warning of brightly colored hair and the "Don't hire me" warning of face piercings and tattoos. But there is another thing these people have in common I would like to highlight. They all use big words to frame their ideas and think they understand the world. Their professors in college taught them to do this.

Many of their most favored words end in "ism," and a lot of those were dragged out of the dusty discourses of the 19th century, although professors looking to make a name for themselves have invented new words overflowing with syllables to describe imaginary problems they also made up.

Notice that capitalism is the culprit––not people, not changing circumstances, not bad company decisions. No, the very system is to blame for people losing their jobs or not being able to get one, so it must be brought down so all people in the world can be equal (ly poor, every time).

Now, whether this person can see it or not, he or she (not they or zhe) believes capitalism operates as a sentient entity. Capitalism has motive and intent. Capitalism manipulates entire economies and populations with the intelligence and power of a god. On this point the person must have some confusion because he or she mentions "they," which indicates the agency of actual people, but I doubt whether he or she has any idea of who they, the ones pulling all the strings, actually are.

At the very least this person is simply using the time-saving frame of capitalism to gather unrelated things under a heading so he or she doesn't have to think anymore, but I doubt that he or she understands what capitalism actually is, only that it must be hated and assigned blame because he or she has been told it is the monster robbing him or her of whatever he or she doesn't have or can't do.

By the way, capitalism didn't make those people at Epic Games lose their jobs. It was their own bad decisions combined with bad agreements and putting woke crap players hated into their games.

The next lesson will be hearing people say they're sorry after pretending to listen to your tale of woe and then finding out nobody cares. No one is sorry, except you and you can't unload that sorrow onto others. It doesn't work that way. You now have to take your next lesson which is quickly lowering your cost of existence in a world where prices of everything are going up and up and it doesn't care what you can afford. Everything will need reviewed. Your reality is not negotiable. Rent, food, clothing, transportation, etc. are all decisions you will need to make. Most degrees are worthless, there are a handful that yes are necessary but I DONT have a degree and I worked my behind off and raised 2 kids alone. I never had an option of not working because I needed a higher paying job ( we would all love) This younger generation feels so entitled. There is no more commitment to working hard or your way up the ladder. Its im just gonna apply for 6 figures or nothing.

The people who often claim to understand influence, systems, power and how reality gets negotiated. Always seem to be the people who misunderstand how influence, power, and systems actually relate to how reality is negotiated.
