Ah yes the "International Bankers and War Profiteers" - the only 2 groups which benefit from war. Both groups driven by the "love of $$$" - which scriptures declares is the "root of all evil (KJV)".

I've gotten into a habit: every-time I hear of some politician doing something that your average American would consider far out I dig into their family and religious background. And low and behold almost Every. Single. Time. my research yields the same results. It's easy to spot and once you see it you can't unsee it!

"All warfare is based on deception." - Sun Tzu's The Art of War. In chapter 1 Laying Plans Sun Tzu explains how strategy requires misleading the enemy:

The idea is that misdirection, surprise and psychological advantage win battles more efficiently than brute force.
Sun Tzu teaches that the highest form of warfare is to win without fighting, and the key to doing that is controlling what the enemy thinks is happening.
Keep in mind that 1 Thessalonians was written around A.D. 49-51. At that time the temple was still standing in Jerusalem. It would be destroyed in A.D. 70 by the Roman Army. So 1 Thess 5:3 could have been fulfilled in A.D. 70 with the destruction of the Temple.
The destruction of the Temple marked the end of the Old Covenant sacrificial system.
Yes it's hard to imagine just how clueless and gullible we were. I can't recall exactly how long it took me to realize 9/11 was a lie! But I do remember the red flag for me was the building 7 collapse. After I processed that bit of truth everything else starting falling into place and making sense. When I mentioned to my wife that I thought 9/11 was an inside job she thought I was nuts. But slowly she came around to the truth as well. It's been a painful journey as you have pointed out.
