Yes it is chemically addictive. If ever decide go cold turkey, 2 (rough) weeks and then it’s easy because the microbiome adapts.

Becoming “fat adapted” where the body transitions out of burning the free carbohydrates for energy and instead uses the fat reserves, is a totally different mode. Sugar cravings are absolutely gone.
