The more I dig into TPV, the more information is revealed that point to it being a subsidized disinfo intel operation. These are fake news sites, like News Punch, Real Raw News, etc. Shitlibs run these sites and even post disclaimers that they are fake, yet people OD'd on hopium will just see headlines and run with them without thinking. "Hillary executed by hanging!" "Hillary executed by firing squad!" "Hillary executed by being fed to sharks!" "World Economic Forum declares that they will make the Republican Party illegal in the USA!" Crap like that.

The funny part is that it goes both ways. I met a colleague to work offsite yesterday at a local hotel. We met for breakfast in the restaurant/bar. My colleague needed to change his laptop, and the only place that had plugs was the bar, but they were nice enough to let us camp out there for the day. I estimate we were there for about 6 hours. But thinking further, it occured to me that this is not about the actual sites at all - but rather whether someone posting a news is actually bothering to check the sources.
If they did, they wouldn't need the list of "banned" sites to figure out if something is a fake news. They would know it when they checked the sources.
That is the point I am trying to make. Its not about the banned sites per se, but rather checking sources before posting something.
If anons actually read the shit on these sites instead of see headline, post news!, most of the time it's pretty obvious there's something off about it...some can be tricky but most are not.

Ditto, and to reiterate the point, my journey with NewsPunch/YourNewsWire began when, as a green anon in early 2018, I posted and promulgated a YourNewsWire story on reddit /r/GreatAwakening, only to be embarrassed later on when I looked a bit deeper and noticed I had been skunked.
It's a learning/growing process. I'd encourage Merk not to stop posting, but to hone your posting skills. if you are posting quality or value, bans may sting, but they'll disappear.

Here's how I will often begin a dig. Search for the name, see what comes up. Find profiles belonging to the name. Search for the profile pic. Is it unique? Or is it a stock photo? Cross reference using tineye, etc.
There are plenty of ways to find holes in the image of someone as a legitimate author. You have to poke through the veneer, to see how much substance there is. The content they deliver is only one aspect of what needs to be examined. But once you can establish the robustness or lack thereof of the personage (aka the presented profile), you can begin to get leverage on the content, and start to build discernment that eventually sees the holes in the content very quickly.

What happens if a mod doesn't believe or agree with a post and bans a user, which later turns out to be true? Because that will happen. It could lead to censorship on a site dedicated to the TRUTH. Also, as soon as you're banned, you cannot respond with rationale, because you are already banned!
Is it possible, instead of banning a user, mods could just say why this post is not accepted? Make it a learning experience instead of punishment. Would it help the site to list what sites are banned for sauce?
In this fight, to remain a critical thinker, you have to have an open mind. Look at the evidence. Is is plausible, rationale, agree with your common sense and intuition? Because that is better criteria to judge a post rather than depend on what a moderator thinks is true.
When the headline is like "MIKEROSOFT PLANS TO DISABLE WINDOWS COMPUTERS IF YOU SPREAD MISINFORMATION!!!!11", and you view all the sources and do some searching and find out nothing like that was said, you can safely assume that headline is wrong. If a certain website is notoriously consistent at this, they become a shill/fake-news site.
If a new anon sees that site and shares it publicly saying the same headline, all of their viewers will think they're a fool for sharing false information. We want to stop that.
I'm willing to admit it's in the realm of what that company could do, but we need to source our things. Remember we are the news now, and we need to handle it with care.

However, I was banned for posting about Direct Energy Weapons and Maui with compelling evidence. While being admonished, I was told to prove DEWs were used at 9/11. Nowhere in my post did I mention anything about 9/11, which I have always believed to be controlled demolition. I couldn't even point that fact out, since I was banned.
Did you get in touch with the Banner and find out what their objection was? You deserve an explanation, at least.
Does appeal to being banned go the the same judge that convicted you, or does it go to a MOD TEAM who consider the verdict.
I appealed to the mod team. Different mods responded, but not the banner. I went back and forth with the mods who chose to uphold their lead mod who doesn't want DEWs and Maui posted for some reason.
I would really be interested in WHY they feel that way.

I read you comment a when first posted, but happened to see it again, and remembered that I have a document bookmarked that is probably the most definitive, fact based research available on the health of a meat/fat diet based on the observed health of Eskimos that the author stayed with for a long time.

Anyone who gets banned under this is fully within the right to appeal. The aim isn't to ban users who do this permanently. But to enforce the rules of No clickbait. and ensure users aren't doing this. The sites listed are clickbait sites.
We're getting pretty deep into things, and we're getting a lot of complains from users about these fake sites with clickbait headlines and no sources for their information. We don't want to send anons into bad sites like this.

Tip for people who stumble on stories that these sites have co-opted: Find the keywords or links to the actual story they are "reporting on", should be somewhere in the article itself or perhaps not, in which case you have to search the web for it, use the "news" tab on your search engine. Use keywords that should lead you to it, if it exists, then post that story direct from the horses mouth, not proxied by the clickbait losers
