Before being the Masons, the organization was known as the Mysterious Force founded in about 45 AD by the grandson of Herod the baby killer along with a group of his buddies to combat Christianity. A copy of the founding document was passed to the eldest son all the way up to 1717. Freemasonry was a clever way of getting the gentiles to work against themselves without them blatantly knowing it.
