Too bad North Korea will never reveal the horror on his face when he discovers how racist that culture is.

This is what will be said and will be hard to get out in front of to disprove. The ones who know what is true will be corrupted or dead if it was purposely done. We'll likely never know and speculation will continue for decades.

Ivan Raiklin needs to stay off talk shows because he hasn't figured out how to not come across like a nut job, but his write-ups allow him to be more thoughtful and full bodied in his presentations. His receipts are pretty solid. Thanks for the link! I've bookmarked his substack that I wasn't aware that he had.

It also distracts from the Maui land grab for the first "Smart Island".

Isn't it interesting that they had this book written, edited, published, and reviewed within a day of the fire???

People really need to wake up.

They've been doing this since 1998. I used to run them. Used to "blade boxes". Now all the big cloud services (AWS, Google, Azure, etc.) run hundreds of VMs on single servers which can in turn be networked in a way that allows each VM to be replicated on other servers.

Maui has a USCG compliment of 25 personnel (including administrators). A budget of $87,000/yr. It looks like the few boats they have were busy rescuing people from the water.

The water depth around Lahaina maxes out at 35 feet until the shelf drops off quite a ways offshore (typical for leeward side of the islands - that's why you see most surfers during competitions getting hauled by jet skis to the far outside reefs). Any naval boats that might have happened to be in area wouldn't have been able to get in close enough to use the water pumps. Since there is not any large boat harbors on Maui, there is a very limited active naval presence. Even cruise ships hang out off the shelf and transport passengers to Lahaina via tenders (small passenger boats).

If you have ever landed on Maui's only airport, you'd know why military aircraft can't land there. Especially true when "hurricane force" winds are present. That drop in to Maui is a shear white knuckler. It has two runways and is considered one of the smallest airports in the US.

Also, sea travel is not like travelling between the Caribbean islands. The channels between the islands are treacherous. During a hurricane, suicide.

The kiawe forests of the Kohala coast that are mainly rooted in old lava fields are desert-ish. There are "forest" fires that run through them every few years. This is what was affected near the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel in southern Kohala on the Big Island.

There were big fires on the Kohala coast of the big island. Southern Kohala is mostly lava fields and Kiawe forest and are no strangers to wildfires. There are mostly big resorts just on the beaches there. Plus August is probably the lowest tourism month since its hot enough to melt your shoes walking down the road. The big resorts like Mauna Kea beach hotel wouldn't want to scare away the few tourists they get this time of year. I used to live in this area. Northern Kohala has scattered small townships.

I was raised Southern Baptist and Nazarene. During my teenage years in the 70s, I saw a marked change in churches. I tried quite a few of them thinking that the new pastor that took over the church after our pastor retired was just the problem. Every church I attended was twisting the words to unrecognizable meaning and pushing the collection plates multiple times during the sermons. The situation was uncomfortable to me and I slowly stopped going.

During those years, I found my new Church. I call it the Church of the Four Winds and the Seven Seas. I celebrate Gods creation and sit in awe and quiet my mind to listen to truths in the natural beauty of this world.

I am grateful for my religious upbringing and was able to find a church in a very small town when my son was young that was a good introduction for him. Thankfully, our grounding in morality is strong from this. Unfortunately, we had to eventually move back to the city.

I will still occasionally try a new church as I travel. Its a mixed bag out there, but still a lot of corruption of the words and still a lot of hard sell of the collection plate. So, I still rely on the forests, mountains, oceans, deserts, and other quiet places of this world as my church.

And yet mainstream archeology still goes on about how these are all tombs and/or religious sites. Such a failure of imagination.

I've been passionate about mythology, ancient history, archeology, geology, and other sciences my whole life. I think I was about 5 when I first watched a doc about the Mayans and maybe 7 or 8 when Chariots of the Gods came out. So for over 50 years, I have been paying attention and digging and learning... even teaching myself to learn some ancient languages.

I enjoy all the new science being brought in to confront mainstream archeology to make them squirm in their "ancient tomb" boots. We need more Schocks, Bauvalls, and Hancocks!

I hear this a lot about Californians bringing their politics to other states. It could easily be said that all the dreamy eyed people who came to California since the 60s to become movie stars and whatnot from other states is what influenced California to become what it has become. I saw people move in from other states and trash the lifestyle we had there for so many years. So enough of the bitching about that. Plenty of blame to go around.

I stayed in California for most of my 60 years and fought the fight... but the high cost of living despite making a 6 figure income, the crowds, the taxes, the filth, the utter bullshit and corruption.... the war was lost there. My son went to university in SF starting in 2015 and I enjoyed visiting him and the city... SF used to be such a great city to visit. But by 2018, it was definitely enemy territory. Now look at it. It's like a 1940s insane asylum movie.

I've been travelling since 2018 and have been trying to figure out which state I want to settle in. Nothing quite beats the natural beauty and variety of communities and climates of California, so its hard to find a replacement.

As a native Californian and former Californian, I can say that California was the prototype for what they want to implement across the country. I saw that beautiful state go to hell in real time.
