The B1, despite its problems, is a freaking beast.

Not that much into hip-hop, but in my opinion Gangsta's Paradise by Coolio is one of the best ever written in that genre [rap/hip hop]. A truly sad tale of how a young thug sees his life. From Dangerous Minds.

I'm old enough to remember when that guy [Charles Whitmore, I think] went to the top of the clock tower at the University of Texas and starting picking people off with a high-powered rifle. Some things you just don't forget. EDIT: Charles Whitman.

Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but you may have a point.

I think those people of whom you speak migrated to the Yahoo comment boards or were already there to begin with. Man, I just checked some of the comments, especially on the article where Brnovich called the stolen election claims horseshit. Man, there are so many people who believe that it was actually legit. Geez.

I remember speaking with an older guy who lived through the transition from Batista to Castro in 1959. He said that once it was obvious that Castro was going to be the new leader, it sparked and unfathomable panic in the streets of Havana, and people were scrambling to get out. I noticed when I was speaking with him, I saw an expression on his face that was equivalent to what veterans refer to as "the thousand-yard stare." He remembers literally being scared to death, but he made it out but had to leave his brother and sister behind because he couldn't find them in the crowd. He never heard from them again and tried every day to find out about them once he was settled in the United States. I imagine Brazil is going through the very same thing as we speak.

I posted on this earlier today and recounted that the last time I got this angry, I threw my dog tags into the Mediterranean south of Cyprus. The RE Division on the Ike was going through a period where some guys in the division were holding back their qualifications for higher watch stations because the duty rotation was easier the less you were qualified. That meant that the top qualifiers were doing six and sixes and the rookies were doing six and fifty-fours. Now, that might not mean much, but in the 80's there was still the Soviet Union and we had Lebanon, Libya and Syria, so things got a little intense. Fast forward to today. After all the shit we've been put through for the last two years and now these people want to forgive and forget? Ummmmm, not only no, but hell no and fuck no. NO DEALS.

No, it would not stop. There are people alive on this planet as we speak that live 24/7 consumed in their hatred for this giant. He would be hounded as long as he lives. Fortunately, they will be singled out and brought to account. Each and every one of them. I will be one of the first ones in line to implement the attack. Granted, there are those who would stress compassion. Nope. Not here. I don't care who judges me for being vengeful. The only one I have to answer to other than my wife is my maker, whomever that may be. I'm willing to take that chance. I have lost a mother and two older brothers to this shit. Compassion is the farthest thing from my mind.

I had to read this drop three times and will likely read it again. I have noticed a tension building over the past couple of months, not that it wasn't or hasn't been building since the election was stolen. The vitriol, the anger, the desperation, the tension tonight is palpable. Did you ever develop a sense of foreboding, and eerie chill, over something? It has happened to me before, and it is hard to describe. It is happening again, although this time there is a strange sense of calm in the background. Tomorrow, I'll get up and go to work, and have a lesson planned for the students regarding practical uses of Trigonometry, and on any other day it would be mundane - but as each day progresses toward the midterms, I am becoming calmer and more calculating. Something is going to happen. Apprehension is a fascinating human condition, and I am presently smack dab in the middle of it.

That's actually pretty funny.

All the more reason to go on a big fat road trip [if you can afford it] with loved ones and the pups. Some of the nicest people we've ever met were at campgrounds, and some of the rudest were on planes.

Oh, really? I don't fucking think so. I don't know this Emily character, but no, no, no. No deals. You and your ilk pushed a narrative that destroyed schools, turned people against each other, saw old people die in nursing homes without their families being able to say goodbye. No. My mother, with whom I had differences, was still my mother, and she suffered three strokes after taking that clot shot because it was pushed on her, then finally died. Go take a fucking leap.

At the rate things are going, every day something comes out as shocking. It's mind-numbing, actually - white hats, black hats, marshals instead of FBI - frankly it is getting to a point [in a strange way, a good thing] where everything that comes out smacks as needing to be questioned as if there isn't more to it.

I have never seen this country so angry and on edge, ever. As I mentioned yesterday, these days before the election are going to be interesting, but what really concerns me is what happens after the democrats have their asses handed to them. There's still nearly two more months before the newbies are sworn in, and Thanksgiving and Christmas lie in between. Some little voice inside my head is telling me that some people are just going to be done with it all and they will take the easy way out. What the fuck have we become.....

Watched The Sound of Music last night. Hadn't seen that movie in 50 years. Quite enjoyable. Doctor Zhivago up next, but I have seen that three times already and it gets better each time.

My thoughts exactly about the midterms. I am just wondering if there will be one particular thing, one point that drives the people to say "alright, that's enough." I know many people are saying that right now, but I have mentioned before "the spark," some event that sets the ball in motion, much like Hitler's invasion of Poland, the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, Pearl Harbor, the Gulf of Tonkin, or something like that.

You know, I just thought of something....you know who Josephine reminds me of? Nicolae Ceaușescu. He was screaming and carrying on right up to the point of his public execution.

So, Juan O. Savin is predicting the election is going to be delayed and this will result in a civil war. You wanna talk about some crazy shit. This guy is either smoking some of the best hashish ever created or he's onto something. He's trying to qualify it by comparing it to the often-referenced multi-dimensional chess game going on, and the "I could be wrong...." and all that, but we'll see.

Looks like they're calling it for Lula, but there's more to that story, I feel.
