It's likely they killed the cell phones to stop the livestreaming as, like everyone else is pointing out, CBs are a thing for truckers.

Mind you their jammers may be able to be set to jam certain frequencies and if that's the case then CBs and Starlink would become useless anyway as they'd block the frequencies those are operating on.

Now the town would likely have internet and landlines so all you're really doing is inconveniencing those people -- unless they're planning to pull that next. And they might. When the RCMP moved in it was the town people that moved in to block the RCMP from getting to the convoy until the farmers arrived so it's likely they'd declare the entire town to be part of the convoy.

It really looks like they're trying to bait them into a fight so they can turn around and use it for justification to use aggressive/lethal force on them. Hopefully cool heads prevail in the government's case because I do know just here next door in Saskatchewan how very ready the people are to fight. You think a bunch of farmers running your blockade was unsettling? The people here are at the breaking point and this convoy is the frustrations and anger of a country who know what the elites are doing and were just waiting for a spark to set things in motion.

Well that's my thoughts on the whole matter. Maybe nothing would happen if the RCMP went martial law or worse, but I just don't see it happening anymore. We're past that point.

I suspect something will come along in the meantime to suddenly cause them to reverse course. They're all giving themselves a very large window between now and then.

I think I remember hearing somewhere that the convoy has so much perishable food they've been donating some of it to the food bank. In addition they're inviting homeless to eat at all the portable BBQs along the street corners because they've been given so much food.

But muh narrative.

I remember listening to a British historian discussing the post-wartime restrictions and lockdowns from either the first or second world war (can't recall which one he said it was) and he was saying that after the war ended the government kept restrictions going for food, goods, and social gatherings. It stretched out from a few weeks to months to finally 3 years. Then the people had enough and fought back (didn't say how) and the government was forced to drop everything.

We're getting closer to this being over. One way or another.

Good catch. I thought I had seen this image before too somewhere when I saw it just now. Sure enough, pop into the comments and there you are 7 hours ahead of me in figuring it all out.

My worry is that for now they'll let up and remove these restrictions just so they can turn around later and enforce it with an even heavier hand. Because this has happened in so many other places already.

I have some family in that area of northern Alberta and have been hearing lots of fun stuff lately.

In addition, three other communities have now hired this company to do testing in their towns.

CBC News of course is now mad and have started smear campaigns against the company they hired to do the testing.

Good series. But stop watching it at the end of the second season. It just went off the rails at that point.

Seasons 1 and much of season 2 was the best of that series.

Already down. Any backups?

Sad thing is in the end we'll be the ones in the position to laugh, but I won't really feel like laughing. Not with friends and family that I do still care for.

I just wish they'd get this figured out sooner than when it's too late.

Reminds me of something I read once. A comment from some politician. Paraphrasing his response when he was asked but it went something like this,

Nothing is more frightening than a white man. Any other race would have been quick to anger and retaliate long ago. You can poke them for quite a while and you'd be right to think they're pushovers and that would be your biggest mistake. When you finally get them mad they go full out with a resolve that will not end until you are defeated.

Sue, sue, and sue them some more. And when they're on their knees pleading for mercy, sue them again even harder.

Okay, seriously now. He must sue them. It's because of their actions that Kyle will for the rest of his life probably have to watch his back at all times or even leave the country to live in another country where no one saw this drama unfold. They have ruined his life and simply put they don't care. Well they do care about money so hurting them with massive lawsuits is what must be done. I know it will put him through hell for a few more years but what else can be done?

I can't see any way these bastards will skate with the 'opinion' tag. Their very actions like cutting from closing arguments to reporters following jury buses tells us they weren't just voicing opinion, they were active in prejudice against him. Forget settlements and sue them to the very end.

They're not. This is the waves of terror. The governments eventually will ease up on the restrictions a little, but then will go even more extreme during the next cycle.

Here is an explanation of the effect. I'd recommend watching the entire video if you have not done so already.

I would never think of any of you as devils. Not where there is really true evil in the world and those whom would worship such things. May you all bring glory to your country and be a beacon for the rest of ours that is trying to rise up from the mess we are in.

Tonight was a test run to see how much they'll need to cheat, lie and steal in the next one.

Here's my config file I made up for yt-dlp. I edit it as needed so I imagine there's a few redundant things in here by now. To use it just create a file yt-dlp.conf in your home directory and it will be automatically called on when yt-dlp launches. These options work for me and YMMV.

I'm starting to think the media are watching sites like this and are now just trolling in their news reports.

AH Moe.

Enjoyed popularity in the high 80's to low 90's. Now crashing down at 40% approval literally a month later. Apparently now has to be chauffeured around with RCMP everywhere as there is hundreds of death threats against him.

Do none of these people read history books? This will not end well for any of them. And I will be there with the popcorn when the people rise up.

Our solution to the John Deere tax (the farmer's term for a price of a JD piece of equipment vs other manufacturers) was to go buy a Massey Ferguson cultivator or swather and some green paint.

No. Then again I don't use cell phones other than text messaging or calls. I won't connect them to the internet and I shut off data completely on them plus I only get basic calling plans. Now I have picked up a pinephone and I like it however I have had issues with my cell company using it for some reason and the only reason I can see for these odd issues is that it is not a phone they sell. Would be nice to have competition in my region.

I carry around a laptop where I go and it serves my needs nicely. Also runs Linux so I'm not worried too much about issues there, other than the CPU which is Intel based but I've looked into that as well.

It's not that I'm super paranoid, but it doesn't hurt to look into things yourself and research matters independently of the fact checkers.
