I wondered that! Woke up to a big gust that made me tremble in fear, the house was shaking. Our chicken coop (big and extremely heavy) got picked up by that same gust and flipped completely over. Chickens just went back to using it, their perches work just as well upside down.
Lost power 24 hours and internet 28.7321 hours. So glad to get internet back! (And that it wasn't my house that got flipped.)
Well, that's one hell of a generator then. Storm was Stacy Abrams sized; it's easily been 6 years or more since we one that strong.

Military often cuts the power when moving in to arrest VIPs. Other possibility is that the DS will try some desperate maneuver to cause chaos by taking down the grid.
Why the reminder for 2-4 weeks of supplies than? Should we be expecting the power to be gone for that long? Will any of us be going to work even?

So this is pretty anecdotal, but since most the stuff on here is anyways... a near retirement grid operator at my church recently (this last summer) lost his job for not taking an order from his manager (manager was new to the company, very political takeover of the position) to switch off power to an area. He was telling me it was illegal and that there are only certain people he can take those types of orders from.. he said they were filling the place with young people that didn't seem to be as passionate or thorough with their jobs. Obviously they can pay them less, but there may be a bigger reason...

In southwest Washington here. Yes, huge winds and storms last night. Around 12:30am our power went out but then came back on almost instantaneously. Happened a second time, exact same thing, at about 12:45am. Exact same thing happened last week, maybe Wednesday or Thursday, but I don't remember it having been that windy or stormy.
