Are there not more important things you could jerk yourself off and make sticky about right now?
They really can't let it go. I hadn't seen any threads referencing the controversy surrounding the mods for the past couple of days, but now one of the mods themselves has created and stickied one. It's like they want to keep fanning the flames.
If you re-read that cartoon with Twitter and Trump in mind it makes for a pretty stupid cartoon really. The libs did exactly that.. they thought patriots were assholes and the showed Trump and all of his supporters the door. So this meme isn’t the best analogy for anons that have already been shown the door enough. I literally don’t even remember seeing the N-word here ever, but the fact that there is a mod still bitching about it and stickying it seems pretty divisive to me.
It always starts with the "obvious". Then they label inoccuous things like "In God we Trust" as extemism and suddenly everyone wonders where the 1st went.
Also, if you are a business open to the public, you still have to respect the constitution, state, and federal laws.
Banning one word, specifically. One which was already against the rules and was considered alongside other slurs to be a potentially bannable offense, but now is classed above the others and is apparently deserving of a permanent ban regardless of context.
You shouldn't give a shit about a dumb fucking mod, any of them. Put yourself first and foremost and if anyone has a problem with that, fuck em. If they post something trying to push an agenda, the best thing to do is ignore them, ignore their bullshit.
This is not a free speech website and anyone that believes it is, has been fooled. All websites are biased and do not allow actual free speech, none of them that I have ever seen personally.
The only things that should not be protected with free speech is doxing or threats of violence. People tend to get a big head and power trip when given any form of power. The internet allows these weak minded fucks say whatever they want because they know there will be no real world consequences.
Maybe you haven't been to the chans or the other assholes of the internet :)
But seriously, this isn't about being able to say these words. We never could on this site. It's about the mod team acting like the same retarded leftists we fled reddit from. It's literally sickening to anyone who remembers why we came here in the first place
I never use racist words because racism requires hate and I'm not a hateful person but if I want to say fuck shit motherfucker god damn asshole eat shit etc, I'm going to speak my mind lol but I speak without anger and without hate.
That's exactly what I'm doing. Reminding the mods that they and their opinions are useless.
It's the userbase that makes the forum, not the mods.
No one here is advocating for blatant racism, so why the fuck are the mods stickying this bullshit? IMO the forum is compromised. Good luck frens. I'll stay to watch the fall, but it's a dark road ahead.
It's always we the people, not the few that control things. People have to eventually realize that. It doesn't matter if it's president, congress, senate, governor, county commissioners, mayors etc. It doesn't matter if it's mods on a website, new media, or any of them really.
People often will start out good and honest but power corrupts. Without us interacting with each other, this website would be useless and dead mostly. If no one wore a mask, government would be powerless to tell anyone to wear a mask. If everyone stopped paying taxes, the government would be at our mercy.
The government wouldn't be able to come in and rule us. Government rules because the people allow it and most people are fine with that because it means less responsibility.
There is nothing wrong with allowing people to have power because not everyone wants to deal with the excess responsibilities but they should all be held accountable for their actions. I like reading on here and talking to people but I certainly don't need this website, I just choose to be on here.
That’s my take on this.. it backs up Twitter banning people if they desire.
Though the first sentence is pretty false. It does not only mean they government cannot arrest you for what you say. It also means the government cannot silence you for what you say.
And the government CAN arrest you for what you say. If some idiot tries to prank his school with a false bomb threat, don't be crying "muh first amendment" when the cops come knocking at his door.
That is the odd point of it. You can get arrested for death threats against certain people too... maybe when they do that they are going against the constitution and shouldn’t even though it makes sense to make arrests in those cases? Not sure... something to think about, I guess
It's not an "odd point", 1A in principle is the right of the people to question, criticize, and ridicule. It really ought to be called something other than "Free speech" because there's no such thing in the absolutist sense. If you get caught conspiring to murder someone then you're not getting off the hook because it's 1A and you hadn't gone to physically commit the crime yet.
The right to question, criticize, and ridicule is what has been removed has been effectively abrogated, Dorsey has no right to remove people for their views if they're legal whilst also being exempt from publisher status.
Not sure I get the point of this.... seems like you're presenting it to prove a point that companies like Twitter, etc. are justified in their actions. By all means please correct me if I'm wrong; it's just my perception...
Right, and that's why I still say we don't really have a "free market". Because (and this is just my opinion) we don't have a free market when government picks winners and losers, using taxpayer dollars to prop these companies up. Then, said companies who got massive government subsidies end up making decisions that harm the public and yet people defend these companies as examples of the market at work (when they wouldn't have gotten there in the first place had the Government not had some say in the matter).
Thanks. I don't consider myself to be any sort of expert or even "well-educated" person when it comes to complex economics or political theory. However, I feel it makes the most sense when laid out this way. It's the same sort of irritation I get when I see people attacking Capitalism because of something a company does that's only allowed to happen because the Government allowed it.
Whenever I see threads like this, I just leave TGA for a bit and come back when the flames are put out and discussions and topics that matter start getting the focus again. I'm tired of the in-fighting because that's exactly what the enemy wants from communities like ours. They're already doing enough to hammer us from the outside and then we end up hammering ourselves from the inside as well. Sigh...
Whenever I see threads like this, I just leave TGA for a bit and come back when the flames are put out and discussions and topics that matter start getting the focus again.
Same. Imagine my disappointment to come back and see this thread, created and stickied by one of the mods.
This site is pretty much an online public forum. Anyone can visit and read it. It’s pretty much the street corner. Maybe a small street corner, but it is very public.
Can I go to your house and randomly start insulting your entire family while saying "can't tell me to leave, first amendment"?
No, because that's two separate issues. In that scenario, you're literally trespassing. If you approach someone in public and begin insulting their family, that is protected under the first amendment. It could, however, result in a fight, or be construed as harassment if it continues.
We're literally debating "the freedom to force others to listen to what I have to say".
I can't speak for everyone, but that's not what I and several others have been debating. Also, nothing is being forced on anyone; you're able to block someone if you don't want to see their posts.
True. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that the staff of any left-wing site will ban you for sharing an opinion that is contrary to their own, even if said opinion or the way you express doesn't violate their site's rules.
So we're an asshole for not wanting our children groomed through cartoons cats? Kek! But you know.. Sticky your own low effort shit cause you need that attention.
People seem to forget that most of these are just reiterations of inherent rights within us as given to us by our creator. They're not rights that suddenly come into existence because someone thought to write them down. I think we need to bring back mandatory civics classes posthaste.
I hope this Lefty perspective is not being posted here unironically...
Rights to free speech are about maintaining an open marketplace of ideas. The sentiment in the above comic is contrary to that. It should be obvious to any thinking person that a free and open marketplace of ideas is incompatible with the notion that you might be punished for speaking your mind.
It is not unreasonable here to keep conversation on topic, and neither is it unreasonable to protect against outside attacks meant to undermine the purpose of this forum. But that whole, "Your free speech is intact if we punish you for it, because we're not the government. We just think you're an ass hole," is a Lefty talking point. Anyone who takes it is nowhere near being fully awake.
It occurs to me that it might be nice for this forum, wanting to present a good face to the public, if there was a default filter in place that offered a public-facing, default, lightly censored presentation. Then, once people join, allow an option in settings to see ALL material. Of course, still ban ads, obvious trolls, etc., but otherwise let the individual users decide how much they want to see. With that, give individual users the ability to block and filter content further to suit their own wants/needs.
I would prefer a compromise like I suggested, because I don't trust ANYONE FOR ANY REASON doing my content filtering for me. Trusting others to filter our content for us is largely how we got to where we are. Furthermore, if someone has incorrect ideas, but we don't know because they are so effectively censored, how do we convince them to change their views? We cannot. We just make them bitter and fracture communities. Likewise, how can you bring truth to an ignorant community if that community falsely believes your perspective to be so wrong that they ban it/you outright without even an opportunity to be heard/considered?
Frankly, the pro-censorship slant I've see around here recently has been one of the most discouraging things I have witnessed recently and does not bode well for the US or the world. I am hopeful that it has been inspired by genuinely good intentions just poorly executed.
As Thomas Paine said, "He who dares not offend cannot be honest." Feelings should not anywhere provide a barrier against honest discussion.
Honestly if this continues, nothing will stop the creation of a GA2.win. And these mods will be unable to control anything said over there. This are the same kinds of cancer reddit mods that we had to run away from, and they've followed us here.
Mods still dont seem to grasp the concept of Streisand effect. Before the stickied PSA about banning anyone who says the N-word, I'd never seen it commented or posted on the site.
Rather than trying to get a public pat on the backs for doing your jobs you should have just remained silent banning racist remarks, and nobody would care. But now you've stupidly opened the floodgates, just for attention.
This makes sense for a normal small forum. But when something like Twitter is the de facto town square of the world for normies it becomes dangerous.
Especially when other big tech giants follow and censor the same people and the government shuts all normal places we can meet and exchange ideas irl bars, restaurants, ect.
Isn’t this exactly what is going on with cancel culture and exactly what we’re against. I get this has to do with the n word but why tf is this stickied...
They're mad we're not as racist as they want for their shitty click bait articles so they're trying to bait us into saying shit out of spite for cucks so they can say "look how racist they are!"
Hell is real, there are fates much worse than death, and it awaits all cucks.
Funny thing is, is that if the mod team left it at the first post saying they were banning racial slurs, nobody would care. Instead the mod team keeps bringing it up, stirring the pot more and more.
And that's why I won't be coming back. There's nothing here anymore that can't be found elsewhere. The mods have turned this community into fucking reddit with all the dumb colors and shit. I'm here for information not recreation.
See, when the constitution was written, they had person to person contact. They could pick up a publication or put it down. You could listen, walk away, come back, have discussions and arguments.
With big tech, that doesn't exist. Big tech is just a bully treehouse club. When they no longer like what you say, they pull up the ladder. When they hate what you say, someone shoves you out of the treehouse.
Don't pretend censorship of people is ok. THAT is what's happening. They aren't censoring just speech, it's whole people.
Remember, the left also doe not think arresting for speech infringes free speech. They believe you had the right to say it, but not the right to be unpunished for saying it.
Anyone who's criticized the mods for their behavior for the past several days has variously been called a retard, a shill, or a racist. What's one more insult?
Holy FUCK the moral grandstanding you faggots are doing over ((((((((((The N Word)))))))))) is childish and embarrassing. If you retards aren't self-aware enough to realize the same bullshit you've been pulling these last few days is the same shit leftards use to cancel wrongthinkers, we might as well just drop the fucking sub now. Get the fuck over yourselves you vindictive, holier-than-thou cucks.
PS "They want you divided" only applies if you give the word its power in the first place.
Hey faggot mods we get it. Are there not more important things you could jerk yourself off and make sticky about right now?
Might as well join blm take a knee and raise your fist. Fuck off.
They really can't let it go. I hadn't seen any threads referencing the controversy surrounding the mods for the past couple of days, but now one of the mods themselves has created and stickied one. It's like they want to keep fanning the flames.
It's like they want us preoccupied with this bullshit.

Same shit the media does. Want to end racism? Stop talking about it.
Funny how they are taking Twitter’s side in the decision to ban speech online.
It always starts with the "obvious". Then they label inoccuous things like "In God we Trust" as extemism and suddenly everyone wonders where the 1st went.
Also, if you are a business open to the public, you still have to respect the constitution, state, and federal laws.

Rigga please
u/#Pepeguitar
Very often one word leads to two...and then three. And since we’ve gone this far already 4,5, and 6.
I honestly don’t care about the banned word, but using this cartoon to justify it is hypocrisy at its finest.
No sht.
Once they've found a chink in the armor, they just keep hitting you there until a wound really opens up.
Is that really a sub? Wow, talk about pretentiously self-fellating!
You shouldn't give a shit about a dumb fucking mod, any of them. Put yourself first and foremost and if anyone has a problem with that, fuck em. If they post something trying to push an agenda, the best thing to do is ignore them, ignore their bullshit.

Damn, chill a little bit. Sheesh.....this is like the best place ol right now.
And with the mods posting shit like this what direction do you think it will go?
Are you defending Jack Dorsey?
Catsfive aka catsdorsey
That’s my take on this.. it backs up Twitter banning people if they desire.

Dude's a cuck with donation link to BLM
Randall is an SJW fucktard. This should not be stickied.
I defend banning "the N word." I defend banning antisemitism.
catsfive probably should be demodded for the weeks and weeks of retarded shit he has stickied.
Not sure I get the point of this.... seems like you're presenting it to prove a point that companies like Twitter, etc. are justified in their actions. By all means please correct me if I'm wrong; it's just my perception...
It's been used for that purpose before. I'm wondering why it's here.
(I usually counter with the amount of Government goodies Twitter got to make their existence possible)
Right, and that's why I still say we don't really have a "free market". Because (and this is just my opinion) we don't have a free market when government picks winners and losers, using taxpayer dollars to prop these companies up. Well put.

However, I feel it makes the most sense when laid out this way. It's the same sort of irritation I get when I see people attacking Capitalism because of something a company does that's only allowed to happen because the Government allowed it.
I think it's more about following the rules outlined in the sidebar.
But the timing does line up
Whenever I see threads like this, I just leave TGA for a bit and come back when the flames are put out and discussions and topics that matter start getting the focus again. I'm tired of the in-fighting because that's exactly what the enemy wants from communities like ours. Same. Imagine my disappointment to come back and see this thread, created and stickied by one of the mods.
I don’t recall the 1st amendment having a size clause...
How big is too big? How small is small enough where it’s ok?
This site is pretty much an online public forum. Anyone can visit and read it. It’s pretty much the street corner. Maybe a small street corner, but it is very public.
No, because that's two separate issues. In that scenario, you're literally trespassing. If you approach someone in public and begin insulting their family, that is protected under the first amendment. It could, however, result in a fight, or be construed as harassment if it continues.
I can't speak for everyone, but that's not what I and several others have been debating. Also, nothing is being forced on anyone; you're able to block someone if you don't want to see their posts.
If I say you’re probably the LEAST favorite mod on the site, is that ok?
The difference is that they have the power to "show you the door"
And that small amount of power has gone to the head of some.
Catsfive is either mentally handicapped, or a leftist shill. Needed to be de-modded weeks ago
I think you're still allowed to say that. For now.
So...censorship? How far does it go?
Yea, I think the 4th frame went over almost everyone’s head.
So.. Twitter?
Nope. Guess again. Other sites will ban you.
True. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that the staff of any left-wing site will ban you for sharing an opinion that is contrary to their own, even if said opinion or the way you express doesn't violate their site's rules.
Lol. I got 6 downvotes on this so far. Do other sites ban people? How fucking retarded are people that find issue with my above statement?
They likely misinterpreted your statement, as I did at first. At a glance, it reads like you're saying Twitter doesn't ban people.
So... you think cancel culture is okay? I honestly think you are the worst of all mods tbh
Great Awokening
Bazinga
Same comic that leftists use to defend Big Tech censorship.
So we're an asshole for not wanting our children groomed through cartoons cats? Kek! But you know.. Sticky your own low effort shit cause you need that attention.
This comic is dumb as fuck and here is why:
The first amendment PROTECTS freedom of speech. It doesn't CREATE freedom of speech.
People seem to forget that most of these are just reiterations of inherent rights within us as given to us by our creator. They're not rights that suddenly come into existence because someone thought to write them down. I think we need to bring back mandatory civics classes posthaste.

Yeah honestly been thinking we need a backup in case they go full chicom. Kind of ironic the mods of TGA would do it but you never know.
Mods still dont seem to grasp the concept of Streisand effect. Before the stickied PSA about banning anyone who says the N-word, I'd never seen it commented or posted on the site.

Yes.
Huge difference between a small, focused community, and EVERY major platform social media platform in the world.
cats, I've supported efforts to keep this place tidy, but posting this, here, is fcking weird, to say the least.
I don’t recall the 1st amendment having a size clause...
Yeah, I'll bet you don't like size clauses, faggot shill.
Funny. Supporting free speech is now what makes one a “faggot shill” on the great awakening. Odd how quickly things have changed on the .win sites..
It’s not a size clause it’s the difference between someone’s living room and the town square.
Why is this bullshit stickied? Maybe because our mods are actual fags?
Isn’t this exactly what is going on with cancel culture and exactly what we’re against. I get this has to do with the n word but why tf is this stickied...
Imagine trying to pretend you aren't a leftist from reddit trying to infiltrate the mod team while simultaneously referencing XKCD.
Not reallly trying anymore, are they :)
Just rubbing it in now like the left tends to do
They're mad we're not as racist as they want for their shitty click bait articles so they're trying to bait us into saying shit out of spite for cucks so they can say "look how racist they are!"

Remember, the left also doe not think arresting for speech infringes free speech. They believe you had the right to say it, but not the right to be unpunished for saying it.
Real nice site we had once...
Please leave your moderator position ASAP
Did this faggot mod just call us assholes?
Anyone who's criticized the mods for their behavior for the past several days has variously been called a retard, a shill, or a racist. What's one more insult?
I hear you loud and clear. I'm done with this site. I felt exiled when the Donald cucked out and became patriots, and now this sub is chucking out.
After being with the win community since nearly day one, I'm out.
Get bent.
