I was out and about today for work, I saw hundreds of people, and two masks. Rural Indiana largely ignored mandates, with the smaller cities mostly playing along, barely half-heartedly.
Since election time however, most everybody's been done with it. Like other places, people are tired and want normalcy. With the idiots in charge, and rhinos being outed everywhere, even fewer people have patience like before.
It's been beautiful, mid-70s, and not many people care about masks.
For myself, I talked my mother out of getting the vaccine with evidence from everywhere. My dad still wants it, but he will come around eventually.
They're flying this month for the first time in over a year, both retired. Nervous about getting covid-19, they still haven't got it, it's understandable, they're old. :-)
My dislexic ass read that as “Indiana Jones” lolll
Eff me, came here to say exactly that, I have the tune in my head now.
You are not alone in that my friend
We need to form a support group or something.
Who’s Indiana Joins? I just think the poster made a spelling mistake, it happens. ;)
Same
Ditto
me too!!! olo.... er... lol !!!
I live in Indiana, most stores and restaurants are still making you wear a mask, a lot of small local shops don't, but most of the chains said they will keep their mask policies. The mandate went away quietly, not much advertisement of it, a lot don't know it's gone, but as word spreads of which stores don't require a mask, people will flock to them. For the most part, Indiana's policies were pretty lax, they said when they put the mask mandate in place, there would be no penalty for not wearing it, and I know a lot of people that never wore a mask through all of it.
yeah local law enforcement mostly all said they weren't going to get involved. I suppose if some Karen got violent they would step in, lol.
Here's what I want, I want our legislation to make it so the guvnah can't ever make mask mandates ever again. Or at least do something where whatever "emergency" powers they have doesn't drag on for a freaking year.
I agree with you. Just moved here from South Dakota for work and most here are based, while some in larger liberal areas probably would whine. Only place in SD I wore a mask was Menards because they get butt hurt and doctor offices. Here Lowes is much more lax, walmart who even gives a crap and most everywhere else that's corporate you see about half and half. Great to see us doing away with it all.
Same on the legislation stepping in. I thought they had started making some bills to limit the governor’s powers since he kinda abused it in this whole thing but I’ve heard nothing on how that’s going. Most other states that removed the mask mandates their legislation also pushed bills through banning vaccine passports and future mask mandates. I’m thinking about either emailing them personally or asking my rep in the House to get busy on such bills..
Yep, mainly the big box stores and chain resturants are making masks an issue.
I don't in Texas either. Haven't worn a mask anywhere at any time for as long as I can remember. I still see sheep wearing theirs though. Last night I was in the pharmacy drive-through and saw a guy pull up in the next lane wearing a mask in his car. By himself. Ugh
Correct, corporate fascism.
I was planning on attending a NHRA track in Indianapolis on May 1st. But I decided not to go because of the mask policy. I am not going to be outside in the sun all day with a mask on.
They lost my money for 2 nights in a hotel, 3 track passes and the cost of food over a mask that does not protect anyone from anything.
I think the NHRA is in the next county over...Hendricks county. They no longer have the mask mandate as of the end of the NCAA being over.
Thanks for the info fren!!!
Ohio will be one of the last because Dewine is a fucking Rino.
Yes. But living close to the border I plan to take all my dining out, entertainment and shopping dollars to Indiana! Way to go neighbors!
I wonder how long it would take me to get to work if I moved to Indiana...........
LOL not long. Small "big" cities and fairly clean. However we have been experiencing lots of Chicago drug/thug crime especially since we now have a Dem mayor in the capitol. Our Gov. is a RINO, but it was better him than his Dem opponent. Southern part of the state has drug issues from trafficking through KY and Cinncy.
Depends on what you do. There are tons of jobs in certain sectors.
I hope that every state that has done away with the mask mandate follows up with a ban on the vaccine passport. The two really need to go hand-in-hand. If a governor feels it's safe enough to go without a mask, then it must be safe enough for people elect to get a vaccine...or not. Still waiting on Kemp to declare a ban on the vaccine mandate/passport, but with recent cancel culture backlash over the voter ID law, he may feel a little gun shy to further rock the boat.
The vaccine needs to be banned. Not just passports.
Agree, I just read today on "telegram" that now they are saying the vaccine will only "last" 6 months. LOL if true, why bother?
...But think of the shareholders! ?
I thought the post read Indiana Jones joins the ranks
My mom and brother are very awake! My brother is 47 and has been "awake" since birth practically..lol! He always lived a different life than most. My other brother doesn't talk to me much anymore. He hates talking about the events of today...
Your parents could get some HCQ and ivermectin before traveling if they like from americasfrontlinedoctors.com. I came down with something recently that has some symptoms similar to the Wuhan Flu so I called and got some. That will help them if they come down with anything.
Native here, the dubious county I work in is planning to keep the mandate for all of their offices. Strongly dem county. They will be dropping dead from lack of oxygen and still clinging to their faith in the pointless attire.
Just curious, what county? I'm in Allen, (Ft Wayne), we have a Dem mayor, but for the most part it is very conservative. A few of the small shops I frequent had the health department make them put up a sign, they didn't make you wear a mask unless someone walked in wearing one, then everyone put theirs on. Today I noticed a lot of signs said masks recommended, changed from masks required. For the most part everyone is sick of it except for the covid / global warming crowd, they beg to be oppressed.
I hinted at it with dubious. It's Dubois. On the southern end. They were militant at the local walmart about it. I boycott them as much as possible anyway. I see people wearing masks by themselves in cars sometimes. The fear is strong with many in that county bit surrounding counties, at least the citizenss, are catching on. I did get a lot of glares in a local store for not complying two days ago alongside my fellow rebels.
Sorry, I didn't catch the hint, I am not as familiar with the southern part of the state, but always great to hear fellow rebel Hoosiers stories. Thank god we only have pockets of idiots here, the state was pretty cool through most of this compared to the states around us..
Marshall County here. Mostly a solid group of based patriots. Venturing out to South Bend, you get more of a mix.
My GF is from South Bend, her family are older dem folks who are stepping back from their party due to the craziness, especially from what former mayor Pete did to the town.
Agreed, patriot. Though Florida's governor makes me jealous.
We're in KOS, so 35 min. From Ft. Wayne. Warsaw is mostly based, lot of conservatives too. Businesses here dont care if you dont wear a mask, except for Menards, but that is for another post.
So both my kids are writing letters to their principle, asking that the mandate be moved to a recommended at school after spring break is over. ✌??
Menards had a mask rule before the state implemented theirs, they told me they would sell me a mask if I didn't have one, I left and haven't been back since.
In the 90's my old band played a bar there called Rex's, if I remember right, the bar owner bought the cab company because the cops were harassing patrons, so he gave them a free cab ride home if they drank too much, always thought that was awesome.
Great to hear getting your kids involved, I'm not surprised people here actually parent, but it always feels good to hear it.
FYI, Rex's is still there, although its gone down hill a tad. They are mostly known for their fights, and roudy drunks.
They have a lot of good nights too, though.
I'm thinking of making a post about menards, as a case study. On the one hand, masks=stupid. On the other, I firmly believe a company can make whatever rules they want, America is great that way. I really like Menards as a store, so I put up with it there, even though I didn't anywhere else. I had interesting talks with employees about it too... I should write that up.
You should, I feel the same, a company can make their own rules, and if we don't like it, we spend our money somewhere else, voting with our dollars I guess.
Live in Indy? That Asshole Hoggsett!
F him, I am familiar with him, he is 10x worse than our dem mayor, he tries to spend every dime that they take in, and is corrupt AF, but the city council is majority conservative and that is about all he gets away with.
Indiana pedes rise up
The damage is done though.
Government doesn't have to mandate shit if the businesses require it.
Once again, we get too little too late.
Unfortunately employers are allowed to keep pressing the masks onto us employees and while my company has lessened the mandate restrictions, it’s still not good enough to me. All it will take is one person to whine and we’ll be back to wearing them fully again..
Good to see more fellow Hoosiers here though, and more that are beyond sick of the masks!
Nice! So sick of suburban NC. Masks are everywhere, all of the time. I wore one twice, once for my son's surgery and once so my 7 year old daughter didnt have to miss a father daughter event with friends, only for 2 minutes to pass a desk.
I am sick of seeing people in masks, tired of people larping like they are fighting through some kind of trauma A trauma where nobody is sick. Was with a group of 30 and 40 year old Dads. They all talked about the vax. Most of them had gotten it or are going to.
My brother got the damn vax. My other brother and I tried to talk him out of it. He is a MAGA guy, He isnt nervous about covid, He just thinks it is easier to go along, he was worried his company would push it due to travel. He stayed away from mRna, but went with aborted baby parts. Getting an experimental vax for such little risk of actual virus makes no sense.
I love hearing stories about peoole waking up, just wish I could see any of it locally, everyone is dead asleep here and it is driving me crazy.
NW Indiana (Purdue) blue county...RINO mayor is keeping the mandate "at least" through Purdue graduations (5/15-16); however the "twin city" across the river RINO mayor is following RINO Holcomb's advisory status. I plan to shop across the river sans a mask or with it pulled below my nose as I have the past year if individual businesses keep the charade going.
Agree, however the idiot mayor in Marion county STILL is requiring the stupid mask. How this clown got reelected is beyond me. I suspect that Andre Carson is still in office because of corrupt cheating every two years.
From Boone County Indiana: been going to Lowes and Tractor Supply neither demand you to wear a mak, the construction guys told Lowes we will quit coming if you inforce it,
I travel through rural Indiana and like you say, even at the peak people in the small towns didn’t wear masks. People passing through who did wear a mask got some strange looks.
I ran into a major supermarket in an Indiana city today. Masks signs were gone, but the store recording was still saying customers should wear masks. Probably 90% still were wearing masks. But no one gave me or the other 10% a hard time for not.
Good because I am going there the third weekend this month to stay at an Airbnb with my sister! It’s a halfway point. She loves to shop but I won’t with a mask.
State mask mandate is over now since the NCAA is over. But, each "local" mayor "may" decide according to local "stats". LOL
Fully expect our idiot Dem gov Andy here in KY will keep the mask mandate as long as possible
Show mom and dad this video. https://thephaser.com/2021/03/talk-about-covid-19-mrna-bioweapon-ivermectin-the-importance-of-vitamin-d-dr-ryan-cole/
This hoosier is a happy one today...but still seen alot with them on...
I'm going to have to move there. Mass is so retarded.
