People who say Trump has a double never seem to provide any convincing photographic proof, with analysis conclusively showing any differences in biometrics, such as we see with Noe Biden's teeth and ears.
It's a combination of things. His suits are dark, and dark clothing makes you look slimmer. His golf clothing is light.
His suits are deliberately a bit baggy and cut in such a way that it disguises his bulk.
Also, and this is only a rumor AFAIK, it has been said he wears a girdle. If you look at him wearing suits, you'll notice his midsection is smooth. When he is wearing golf clothes, his stomach pooches over his waistband.
I would wager if he's wearing any sort of support, it would be a back brace, not a girdle. And I would think a backbrace would mess with one's golf swing, which is why he doesn't wear it while golfing. But I don't golf, so I very well could be wrong there.
I really don't think he's wearing much, if any, armor on the golf course.
They would give a smoother appearance under his clothes. Absolutely no disrespect to him or other large people, but he has a more "squishy" and "jiggly" appearance to him, rather than the smoother and structured look armor would give.
Also, I would think that body armor would make it difficult to swing a golf club. I don't play golf or wear body armor, so I can't be certain about that.
To be honest, if I had been sitting in that meeting, I probably would have done the same thing.
OT: My uncle is a huge golfer. When I was a kid, he took my dad out and my dad had only played a couple of times at this point (early 70s). My dad got a hole in one and he said my uncle was jumping up and down and hugging him. At the time, my dad didn't understand why he was so excited (obviously, now he gets it). The club even mounted the ball on a little trophy for him. To this day, I don't think my uncle has ever hit a hole in one.

Agree about the back brace. He has some junk in the trunk in a good way. I also think the suit coat covers him up quite a bit.
