I am sorry for your loss. Grief is so hard, so overwhelming. It is because death is unnatural. We weren't meant to die and we weren't meant to lose our loved ones. It's a tearing of the soul that only God has a solution to. And we underestimate His grace, we can not comprehend the greatness of His grace. Trust in that grace for Sam. Trust in that grace as you grieve. Praying for you, be kind to yourself.
Sin brought death into the world. There was no death prior. People, animals, or otherwise.
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" -Romans 5:12
The pre-flood environment and atmosphere (air pressure, oxygen, etc) was far different than what we have now, which is when man's age went from 900 years to 120 and finally to where it's at now. Fun fact: reptiles never stop growing. Imagine how big lizards get if they lived 900 years. Oh, that's right, we have actual skeletons, not to mention drawings and carvings from various cultures showing dinosaurs always lived with man. But they try to brainwash us when we're younger than five, as it seems all dinosaur stories start out with: "Millions of years ago." Satan has a counterfeit message to everything.
God didn't intend for us to go through what we do and gave us freewill to choose Him or falling to temptation. Others can answer your question better than I can, I'm sure. :)
Sorry, I don't build my worldview around a book written copied and translated by people with very questionable motives.
My ancestors were brave clever and strong. I honor their memory. I don't care what your book says. Heaping contempt on your ancestors is bad psychic hygiene.
So sorry for your loss - and as a Christian when we don’t know where they stand, it’s especially distressing. But remember the Cross of Jesus. While Jesus hung between two thieves, one mocked Him while the other asked Jesus to ‘Remember me when you come into your Kingdom’. What was Jesus reply? ‘Today you will be with me in paradise’. I believe God left this ‘picture’ for us that love Jesus as a message of hope for our loved ones. In this man’s dying breath, as he hung between heaven and hell in his final minutes of life, he called out to Jesus. And Jesus heard! It is a comfort to those left behind that love the Lord, that our loved ones are not without hope but Jesus is always there with them in their final moments. And while you might not have spoken much to Sam, I’m sure the Holy Spirit working thru you did. God Bless!
I too believe my Dad did too. I was with my Mum when she died. She was 93 and was very active but in her last week she didn’t want to get out of bed. My husband had left to drive a short few miles to get a shower attachment to make it easier to shower. As I sat next to her on the bed, she said to me I’ve been remembering a lot of old hymns that my Aunties used to sing to me. One was the Old Rugged Cross. And she hummed it as I sang quietly with her. I also noticed that the Bible I had given her was on her bedside table. Then she said. I had a dream. I asked what about? She said it was a room and those Aunties were in that room smiling and singing. Those Aunties were beautiful Bible believing Christians. I had my head down, perhaps wiping a tear as I cannot remember but she was reaching out to me and couldn’t say anything and I realised she was in trouble. My husband heard me screaming out and I saw his head pass by her window as he rushed into her room. She had gone as I held her up. Too quick for me and there has been multiple times since I have needed her wise words, comfort, wanted just to talk with her, laugh, cry. But I believe God chose me to be with her in her last moments and I’m so thankful. I believe she’ll be there when it’s my time to join her and my Dad and others that have gone before. There is always Hope. But put your Hope in Jesus Christ and cling to that ‘Old Rugged Cross’.
Heavenly Father, we ask you to receive our brother, Sam Chandler, into your heavenly fold. If he stumbled in faith, fill him with Your Love and Forgivenesses. We ask this in Jesus name, our beloved Lord and Savior, who would save every one of His lost sheep.
🙏
Me too. I posted here right after my husband had a major stroke in December. The outpouring of prayer and support was unbelievable. And he's made a full recovery.
Wow! Thank God he recovered!!! So happy for that! When my dad passed....also in Dec.....this place helped a lot. Esp bc yall are the only people who actually believed what killed him....vax. Much ❤ fren!!!
We are spiritual beings having a human experience. May the spirit of Sam travel to a higher plane on the wings of an angel. May his soul find peace and may he be blessed with another caring friend like you on his next experience.
Eternal Father, I offer You the body and blood, soul and divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in union with all the masses said thru out the world today, for the poor souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in our own homes and in our families, and our dear friends especially Sam Chandler.
Thank you so much! I thought it was St. Gertrude but wasn’t positive. I read her life story. (Love reading lives of saints!) It’s a very powerful prayer. So nice to know a fellow patriot cherishes it also.
Losing friends is different than losing anyone else. You chose your friends out of the millions of people around you. You have no obligation to them, but enjoy their company enough to offer it anyway. That is meaningful in a way that isn’t obvious until it’s gone.
I am sorry for your loss.
Please don’t forget that he isn’t the one in pain right now. You are. Don’t forget to take care of yourself.
Prayers for Sam for a speedy passage to heaven And prayers for those who loved and cared for him to find peace and comfort knowing that he is surrounded by love and light. Hugs to you, friend.
Only Jesus knows the last moment we face on this side of the veil. His mercy invites each one even at that last moment we don't see. Your prayers for your friend were not in vain. Not one prayer was unheard. My brother faced the Lord last December with me by his side. I know in that moment Jesus stood before him and gave him a chance to say 'Yes.' This is the Father's heart. He is just, but he seeks that all come to him.... Trust the Father.
This brought tears to my eyes and I believe you are absolutely right. Back in 2004 my Dad, who never professed to believe in God, suffered an aortic aneurysm and was in hospital on life support as we all gathered at his bedside. My Dad never “darkened the door of a church”, as he used to say, (except for my wedding) but he was faithful about seeing us to church if we wanted to go. All 3 of his children know the Lord, and all 3 of us felt strongly that night that as he lay there on life support - in those final moments - he and Jesus were having a conversation. I’m certain I will see my Dad in Heaven because you are right - this is the Father’s heart. Scripture tells us it is not His desire that ANY should perish. My Dad would’ve maybe felt he didn’t deserve mercy, but he would not have rejected it. I believe Jesus always stands at the door, knocking - even in that last moment of our earthly life.
Lord please guide Sam to your ever shining light. Please give Sam's family comfort and strength during their time of need. Please help our brother CaptainQirk mourn this deep loss. Sam's torch will never be extinguished as his spirit will always shine bright and true. Rest in peace Sam :(
Sorry for your loss. I have lost friends, it gets easier with time. Sharing the fun memories and the laughs helps. In the future you will hold a drink up to him and chuckle about a past memory you shared, you will feel him laughing with you. Keep the memories alive and happy.
I am sorry for your loss. It is always hard to lose family or a good friend who is more like a brother. I am glad you two had a chance to bond the day before, you will always have those precious memories. You never know what tomorrow brings, or why God decides to call us home when he does. I lost my sister 4 days after Christmas, 4 years ago, 1 week before her birthday. We made dinner plans the night before and the next day she was dead. No ill health that we knew of. She was 12 years younger. We never know why God decides it is our time to be called to Him. But we know he has a plan and I pray she is reunited with our parents and her beloved dogs, just like I pray your dear friend is at peace. I think it is always hardest for those left behind. You always wonder if you could have done more or prevented the loss, but God makes the ultimate decision and it is part of His Master Plan. May you find peace and remember all of the good times you two had and may the two of you be reunited in the future.
take it or leave it, but this heathen's advice is take some time away from social media and just process things. pray if you need to... read your bible, talk to a repsepcted clergyman, whatever helps you heal...
Also, because you mentioned drinking, an old proverb, "drink to remember, not to forget."
So sorry for your loss… Any person who would give the shirt off of their backs to another is following Jesus’s golden rule. I’m sure your friend is with Christ, brother. I’ll say a prayer for Sam <3.
We all grieve and heal in different ways and different paces. Do not expect yourself to heal in any particular time frame or put that sort of constraint on yourself. My heart goes out to you.
The Lord is close to all whose hearts are crushed by pain, and he is always ready to restore the repentant one.

I am very sorry for your loss, Fren. His rest and your peace of mind shall be addressed in the 20:00 CET daily prayer today.🙏🏻
Thank you so much.

Beautifully said! Thank you
Amen!
We weren’t meant to die? What do you mean?
It wasn't God's plan, then the original sin (disobedience) brought it all down on to mankind.
Original sin made our bodies age and eventually die? Honest question
Sin brought death into the world. There was no death prior. People, animals, or otherwise.
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" -Romans 5:12

That’s an interesting thought about dinosaurs
Pretty cool to consider. I hope the truth comes out
God didn't intend for us to go through what we do and gave us freewill to choose Him or falling to temptation. Others can answer your question better than I can, I'm sure. :)
Thank you :)
Blame your ancestors for anything bad that happens. It's super healthy wink wink
Nah fren. It's not blame it's what happened.
Sneffles is correct the Bible is clear.
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:" -Romans 5:12

Love this. I believe that my father called out on his death bed snd Jesus heard him. Sam is resting in God’s peace now🙏

Halya, I read that beautiful prayer years ago, and try to say it often. Most aren’t aware of it. Do you recall what saint wrote it?
St Gertrude.

Esp on days like Memorial Day I pray this as many times as I can all day long.

Wonderful and powerful if we all pray it!
