Question for those who celebrate "Juneteenth"
Underrated Question
How are you going to celebrate the end of slavery when the federal reserve still exists?
One of the things I find so strange about Juneteenth is this.
Republican President Abraham Lincoln announced the end of slavery via his Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. This is the Date slaves were set free. We fought a civil war over this issue. The proclamation was officially announce midway through that war.
"Juneteenth" is a date some 2 and a half years later that commemorates freedom from slavery. Apparently, it's when some troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to re-declare what Lincoln said two and a half years earlier.
Wouldn' the correct date for Freedom From Slavery be New Year's Day? We celebrate July 4th and 1776 as our nation's birth date because the DECISION to start a new country was made on that day. We still had to fight the entire Revolutionary War after that date and had to write our Constitution twice, and draft dozens of amendments to get it right.
But, it's the day the decision is made that is the Date that matters.
I wonder if "Juneteenth" is just an effort to make sure people forget Republican Abraham Lincoln Freed the slaves?
It seems very similar to the 1619 project or whatever the hell date the New York Times came up with for the start of our country.
The Commie Left are purposely trying to rewrite history to Remove our history. Same with taking down our monuments. This woke shit is going way too far. It needs to be nipped wherever it buds.
I think it’s to cause racial division and to diminish fathers day.
I agree with that. It sure seems like a totally fake holiday to me, designed to create division.
The irony is that Juneteenth celebrates the END of Slavery, but it is soaked deep in the message that black Americans are still slaves. That's bullshit.
The slaves today (of all racial backgrounds and ethnicities) are those who believe everything the MSM says. Everything Big Tech says. Everything that Big Pharma and Medicine say. Everything that woke teachers indoctrinate with. Everything that Commie Dems and RINOs say.
Slavery is real, but it's all about mental slavery today. Far too many people buy into the trash placed in their heads.
All they need to do is wake up and realize they are FREE.
Free to think what they want. Free to say what they want. Free to be who they want to be. Free to set whatever goals they want. Free to pursue those goals. Free to stand up for themselves. Free to help others. Free to make a positive difference. Free to keep on getting up. Free to keep on going.
It is 100% Mindset.
Yup and the irony of Juneteenth being on father’s day is that single parent homes are the biggest problem in black America today. I saw lots of woke people virtue signaling about black people without addressing this current issue.
Broken families + welfare = cultural decay. LBJ and the Dems in addition to CIA crack destroyed a good portion of black America.
They are still slave, same as all of us.
I think they needed that date for some ritual.... boom Juneteenth
Division maybe...diminish Father's Day, DEFINITELY. Libtards generally hate whole families, with two hetero parents at the lead. Juneteenth will typically fall around Father's Day...and I'm sure that's by design.
Everyone needs to read every word of the Emancipation Proclamation. It did not free all the slaves. It only punished the Southern states who seceded. Slaves were not freed in a number of places, such as Norfolk, VA and New Orleans.
I have yet to find a single black person who has ever actually read the document. They have no clue what is in the document they believe is so important.
Most also do not know that the Confederacy abolished the overseas slave trade after its founding either.
They're free slaves now.... just like us
What's the TLDR on this one?

Thanks for the summary. It definitely sounds like the book is a counter narrative to what we have learned about Lincoln and history.
I think counter arguments/histories are important because it helps with discernment, opens the mind, and provides new perspectives.
I won't know if I will agree with the book until I read it. While I have an open mind, I already know my inherent bias is making the assumption that the author is a southern secessionist supporter that believed the South was right and the north was wrong.
While I grew up believing the north was righteous and the south was stuck in their slave ways, I also understand that many of the things I believed in are not true. I used to believe the federal government was altruistic and was focused on the health, safety, and survival of our country. Laugh Out F-ing Loud!
Maybe that was true at some point in time, but now I doubt it. Our Founding Father's greatest fear when they created our country 246 years ago was an all powerful centralized government. They new it would lead to tyranny over the people. The reason they declared our independence as a new nation was to break free from tyrannical rule. I think we can all comfortably understand how right they were.
Probably the single most important thing we can do to try and save our country is swing power as forcefully as possible back to the states. The place power should reside. Actually, the power should swing back to We The People, but starting with the states is a good first step to minimize federal control.
I applaud Florida and Texas in these regards. These are Southern States, so I do believe the South has it right when taking on the federal government.
Every time I've visited Texas, I've always left impressed with the clear message everyone always sends which is basically, "We aren't a state, we are the Republic of Texas."
If every state realized they are, in fact, individual countries, as our founders intended, we could take back control from DC much faster than people realize.
At the time of our Founding, "states" meant countries. This is why international politicians and negotiators are called statesman, and why we refer to national leaders as heads of state. The United States could realistically be called The United Countries of America. Every state has its own constitution. Every state has its own sovereignty. The only powers granted to the federal government are those explicitly granted to the federal government via the US Constitution. The federal government was created by the states, the states were not created by the federal government.
Part of the Great Awakening needs to include learning and understanding how our government was designed and how it is supposed to work, according to our Founding principles.
DC knows this could be the death of DC as they know it, and this is why they want to destroy our nation's history. They want to rewrite it so people forget where the true power lies in our nation.
Is there a book or something you would recommend to learn more about this?
Here are some of my favorites on the history of the United States:
A Patriot's Guide to the History of the United States, by Larry Schweikart
The Politically Incorrect Guide to the American Revolution, Larry Schweikart
Books that Matter: The Federalist Papers, Joseph Hoffmann
The Founding Father's Guide to the Constitution, Brion McClanahan
America's Founding Fathers, Allen Guelzo
I will check it out. Thanks for sharing u/PepeSee 👈🏻
Even fewer understand what Lincoln wanted to do with all black folks. The "great emancipator" didn't give two shits about freeing slaves for any reason other than to hurt the south's war efforts. I'm heading out the door so no time to get the sauce but the gist was send them all back to Africa.
Juneteenth has pmuch just been a Texas holiday forever. Because they figured out the war ended later than everyone else. As just a Texas thing I never really saw an issue with it. But when they randomly blew it up into this national thing and made it a federal holiday, that's where it's like fuck off.
Colored people time
If leftists were consistent there wouldn't be any in power.

BLACK SLAVE OWNERS
3,776 Free Blacks owned 12,907 Black and White Slaves in America. Black slave owners in the United States: http://ironbarkresources.com/slaves/whiteslaves05.htm
Why isn't BLM concerned about this: Black Slavery exists TODAY in Muslim-dominated African nations. https://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/24430
WHY SHOULD PEOPLE WHO NEVER OWNED SLAVES PAY MONEY TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN SLAVES?
Humanity has always been slaves our entire known history. Just because some people have fancy toys doesnt mean they are free
Just anpther stupid day to perpetuate the false narrative of modern apologists to something no one living ever had a hand in doing. In short, it's just there to keep the blacks in perpetual victim mentality.
Juneteenth, and all other days/months dedicated to "race" should be abolished...they're fuckin stupid FOR the stupid.
My town had a Juneteenth celebration in Central Park that lasted over a week. Left the park a mess. Their Mamas must be proud.
Burnnnnn
How do they call the Twenty 'eth' a 'Teenth' ? the 20th is not in the 'teens' This is how fkd up all this wokeness b.s. is.
It is on the 19th. Still dumb, though.
even dumber
please excuse my ignorance about this ignorant day. they never had this stupid wokeness shit when I was growing up
We get "smarter" together, fren. It's new to most of us!
yes. who comes up with this new b.s. anyway? I know nothing about it until I saw it on a bank door last week. Had no idea what it was. I stopped wathcing the brainwashing news over a year ago and l feel refreshed.
Resident Biden doesn't even know, so you're off the hook. For a laugh, I do suggest looking up his answer, then forgetting everything he said, as it is 100% incorrect.
I am pretty sure the original Juneteenth date was June 19th
In fact, in today's society we are all modern slaves, we work for that 1% that controls the whole world.
I would ask to those who celebrate 19th, do they prop the (white) General who signed the order to release them. Who came to their aid. And have them their freedom? I forgot his name, but he should be a huge part of their celebration. I’m sure he has been left out due to...no room on the poster for 19th....or something like that.
I have a question: IF ANYONE IS AN “expert” ON SOMETHING THEY PREACH IS SO HORRID TO THEM, then why hasn’t the TRUTH been told, experts now remember…the truth is THERE WERE MANY MANY WHITE SLAVES. Owned by black slave owners. Little even field there huh? They left that huge piece out. Imagine if it stayed. There’d be zero tension. Ask anyone preaching about slavery. They’ll try the “well not that many whites were…” BULL SH*T. I’m from the dirty. Deep South. See how they did that? Doing it now with certain things. And, HOW IS IT…that there were freed blacks that were able to do this??? They taught us they were all laid out in a boat like Egyptians, and hauled over. Did these people just happen to beat them to the states and play dumb? No. We need our history back. We are who we are, because of it. And If there is a fly in the ointment…then we deal with the flies they put in it. Take them out. Now is the time to do that if EVER. And the natives will be taking it back, when the word is said. Not sure how, but I would not want to be facing a full feathered headdress and war paint. That’s just barbarically cool! Haha ( I’m Choctaw )
There is a massive amount of historical lying and deceit that too many believe which enables the handlers.
My exact comments to my hubby last night! We are still slaves to the IRS
I'm still trying to figure out what exactly a teenth is. I have no idea.
1,000x's this! It sounds so fucking stupid! That & the grammar issues behind using they/them instead of he/she... drives me batshit crazy🐸
mic drop
DAMNNNN!!!!!! That BLEW a hole in the keel...Great Question....
For one, I am quite ready to get the show on the road, but as a military guy, patience is needed, so that every step is taken ALL the way to the end...
BUT...the ENDING is going to be a dozy I pray!!! Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammo!!!!
That war actually expanded slavery... And it's my theory that The South knew it would happen.
Correction. The damn Yankees and northern business interests, the ones who caused the war in the first place.
Celebrating the end of slavery is good for the human race, so if "designed for raciail tension", that's a dimwitted premise, nothing new there, I just enjoyed a new federal holiday! The more holidays the better!
Isn't that just another day the welfare group celebrates not having a job, a future, a career, a intact family, while living in a government subsidized craphole where drugs, violence, poverty, and abuse runs rampant. The brainwashed are truly unable to see the light. So freakin sad.
