"You attracted that rape." Says the villain to the victim.

"I swear I wasn't thinking of being raped. I was thinking of blessings." Says the victim.

"You being raped was a blessing, because if you weren't raped, it would have never led you on the path to wake up." Says the villain.

"I still dont see being raped as a blessing."

"You need to change your frequency."

The OP's idea of the importance of maintaining a positive mental attitude has been proven correct in the real world countless times.

If your point is that you shouldn't solely rely on metaphysical silliness to keep you safe in life, i'm with you on that.

My point was to illustrate the abuse in New Age circles.

"But I swear its not happening in mine though, we're really about what we preach."

Yep. Just keep dreaming and you'll rationalize yourself out of the reality that's right in front of you.

Just like the left is doing.

Out of one Matrix and into another.

OP will not respond to me because he knows that I speak about the same cult he's in. I'm closer to home than he thinks.

But apparently he's attracting this, right?

I'm not actually referring to people who've been blue-pilled. I'm telling you guys that there are people who respond well to a rough approach (tradesmen, bikers, military guys, etc) and people who thrive under encouragement and emotional sensitivity (new age philosophers, "hippies," the meditative types.)

Regardless of which pill is being taken, building a wide range of ways to approach people is never a bad thing.

God gave 'you' choices. God doesn't tell you what to do.

But 'you' are not your mind or body, you are 'you'.

Satan acts through your brain. What you perceive around you like your eyes, mouth, nose, ears, touch is interpreted by your brain. For example, watch degenerate porn, or be sexually abused by degenerates, the brains either likes it or don't, with a helping nudge from satan.

Therefore 'you' still have a choice in the actions you take, by ignoring the bullshit in your what your brain is saying. If 'you' are righteous then believe 'you' will do the right thing, not what the brain is telling you because you find out if you meditate enough, your brain is powerful but it's still a tool you use or don't. Again, choice.

We are made in the image of God, so if God is Jesus, then 'you' default mode is good. You can never go wrong unless you listen to your brain.

No, this is the Law of Attraction (or manifestation) taught by occult groups including New Age and some masonic groups.

Good things and true blessings come from God alone. Bad things happening to you are not always a result of your attitudes and actions. Jesus was crucified. Job lost basically everything. The apostles were persecuted. Our hope is in the power and strength of heaven.

I disagree completely. We have been led to believe that our thoughts are just something that comes and goes but that is not the case at all. Our thoughts are the power that God gave to us to create our experience here on this earth. We literally can create our experience with thought and therefore the control over our thoughts is essential to the lives we create. Further, satan feeds off of negativity and so by not controlling/changing our thoughts, we feed satan with our fears and negativity.

– 10lbsBass [S] 10 points 3 years ago +10 / -0

Thoughts come to us depending on our emotions. Our brain receives thoughts like a receiver. Controlling our emotions is like tuning our receiver. If you are angry you will receive angry thoughts. If you are happy you will receive happy thoughts.

"Our thoughts are the power that God gave to us to create our experience here on this earth."

We create the world around us [experience] through the power of thought. That is why they push fear and division. They manipulate our emotions ensuring we will have negative thoughts and create a negative world [hell].

Our thoughts matter but it is not our positive / negative thoughts that shape reality. That is a lie of the devil.

Our circumstances may be fantastic but we live in depression, chained because we are not thankful for what we do have but instead selfishly desire more.

We have been led to believe that our thoughts are just something that comes and goes but that is not the case at all.

There is a LOT we have been lied to about and Christianity as a whole bears the blame for this deception in perpetuation the status quo. Of all the churches I attended in my lifetime, only one comes to mind that every came close to teaching about the real enemies in power and even then it was a guest speaker sharing their efforts to combat human trafficking. The rest was always the same recycled talking points on Sunday then back to being a casual sinner the rest of the week... the evils of the derp state I learned from other, non religious sources.

But how could this be? Christianity insisted they were the good guys, fighting the good fight! No... they were there to prop up religion as a distraction. They reminded people, "well sure, you're not rich right now, but god has you working you 9-5 bullshit job for a reason! You're poor for a reason! You're tired of struggling? Did you hear about this Job guy? He had it way worse so you need to calm down. Oh by the way, don't forget your 10% tithe to us." I know it's hard to accept and while Communism is a shit system and not a functional or practical government system, Marx wasn't wrong to call out what he did. And his ideas were inevitable. The church teaches compliance and conformity just to their specific version. And the control goes beyond Christianity. I mean Islamic fundamentalism is easy to see and understand how it keeps the masses dumbed down.

But ultimately, you are correct. When I say the phrase "tree" what happens? You think of a tree. You manifest an image in your mind. Thoughts and words do have more power than people want to give credit for- especially religious types with a creepy obsession to control others and their lifestyles. To what extent, I know not. But I definitely don't think of my thoughts as insignificantly as I was taught to.

Fren you are trapped in an occult teaching that is not godly and will lead you to hell. I suggest you find a solid church that does not teach the prosperity gospel.

Thoughts and words matter. We are told to resist the devil. But positivity = power is the masonic Law of Attraction that teaches you will be like God, instead of submitting to His will.

It is the exact same as the "secular" social media gospel. Ignore everything bad in life, ignore the people warning you of hell, ignore the cabal controlling the world, ignore sex trafficking, all of that is not real...manifest a better future where you are happy. That is living in the matrix fren.

"The single greatest cause of Atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and then deny him by their lifestyle."

How convenient for your argument to gloss over what I say and respond with a very canned and contrived response. Church is just another center of indoctrination full of people who think they're with people who think exactly the same as they do (except non denoms, they seem to have more respect for individuality)

If you actually read my post, you'd see I called out the "ignore the bad" delusional way of thinking in favor of embracing honesty and truth. Anyone who seeks to hide the truth indefinitely are the ones blinded by Satan. You'll find I'm the exact. I'm just not nice about delivering the truth.

Teach us Your secret, Master! yap my Yahoos.

Then for the hardness of their hearts, and for the softness of their heads, I taught them Magick.

But... alas!

Teach us Your real secret, Master! how to become invisible, how to acquire love, and oh! beyond all, how to make gold.

But how much gold will you give me for the Secret of Infinite Riches?

Then said the foremost and most foolish: Master, it is nothing; but here is an hundred thousand pounds.

This did I deign to accept, and whispered in his ear this secret:

A SUCKER IS BORN EVERY MINUTE.

Rejecting new ageism outright in favor of boomer tier Christian Fundamentalist Conformity is returning to a tyranny that has already happened and will bring us back to where we started.

If you love Jesus, then one, stop trying to control people and let them come to Him on their own time and terms. Two, stop belittling people for their beliefs. It does not matter how right you think you are, you will never be better or more valuable than someone who has different ideas than you. One Father, one Son, one Gift of holy spirit God able to give what he is.

Christ had to be one in purpose with God, he always did the Fathers willl but he is The Son, the messiah, the savior, the deliverer.

God is all those things too and by extension sent Christ. But God is spirit and no man hath seen God at any time. They saw Jesus Christ the Son.
And a dove descended upon him and a voice from heaven said "this is my Son in whom I am well pleased".
Jesus Christ had to receive Spirit because he was born like all men since Adam fell without spirit upon him.

I do not believe Christ is God, but he is his son. U can't find the trinity in Christianity until 385 AD the nicene creed.

Anyway that took off.

That's a VERY narrow and juvenile way of looking at it. Positive and negative emotions are part of being human. Too much positivity can lead you into a life of delusion. And yes, too much negativity can lead to bad things as well, but again honesty can curb that.

Weekly fasting (1 meal or no meals in a day) or abstinence (no meat for a day) will help in regards to self-control. If you can control your food appetite, you'll have an easier time controlling your emotions or even your sexual appetite.

That's very interesting. I've never heard of that connection before. Is this something you have theorized about, or is there some source where you got this information? I have a very kind friend who is struggling with weight issues. She is also a very overly sensitive, overly emotional person. I have tried to help her with basic advice about things like the keto diet and working out, but I don't know how seriously she takes my advice.

Well it's all within the same genus or category of "self-control." And food is about as basic and universal as you can get. If you can control that little aspect about yourself, then controlling other aspects of your life becomes much easier bc you'll be leveraging the self-control you developed in that aspect of your life.

I don't know that she would be on board with full fasting, but I thought easing her in with intermittent might be a good way to start. I'm due to see her soon. Maybe I'll broach the subject again. I wouldn't normally stick my nose in, but I know she is miserable and feels she has failed repeatedly. I suspect she has given up. But seeing herself successfully fast even just one day might give her a sense of accomplishment, like you are suggesting. Thanks. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

I'm "easing into" the whole thing starting with an 8 hour eating window (10-6). I may cut it down to 6 eventually (maybe not), but likely never more than that. I want it to be sustainable.

Well good luck with that. I have been fasting 2 days a week and actually found it easier than I would have thought. As an example, I might finish supper on Sunday night, then not eat again until mid morning on Tuesday. Fasting is supposed to have a host of positive benefits, including improving brain cognition. I don't know how long I'll keep it up. But so far I have no desire to stop. It might just be a whole new lifestyle. I hope you enjoy the IF as much as I have enjoyed what I'm doing. Also, a type of intermittent fast, I suppose. Lol.

You are right, and I’d like to comment from the perspective of a psychotherapist.

When you say “Learning to control our emotions,” I think you are really talking about learning to control our thoughts. What we think about, like imagined conversations, beliefs, daily attitudes…. These are what start the emotions going.

And if emotions get triggered (by events or thoughts) what we think in that moment can either ramp them up or calm them down.

Noticing our thoughts daily, working on challenging long held negative beliefs when they show up, focusing on problem solving not blame, these practices help us to remain centered and to be prepared for any event that comes along.

Yes, that’s a good idea. Also, when you identify the negative belief, write a positive statement that counteracts it. Repeat that positive one often, and try to feel the good feeling it brings you. Eventually, it will be “programmed into your brain” and the new belief, with the new feeling will be your first thought, and you won’t have to fight the negative thought anymore. It’s like your new programming will overwrite the old programming. It takes effort and time, but it works. It took me a year one time before I realized my work had paid off and I no longer was daily criticizing myself.

Words to live by!!! After reading all the comments, I want to say that it doesn’t mean life becomes perfect or that I expect it to be. The way this actually works for me is, I know the farrier will be coming Friday to shoe my horse. I realize I don’t want him to come because I’m away. So I think he should come Monday instead. I literally thought this a few months back. Within 24 hours or less the farrier calls and apologized because he can’t come Friday but can Monday. This happens all the time. I literally can determine how I want an event to go by picturing how I want it to feel and it happens that way. I’m not upset if it doesn’t work out though. I just go with it. This works well for me so I agree with your post. People should try it. We do have more power than we realize.

For people who complain that you might be thinking positive thoughts, but you still end up with tragedies, you have to realise that the idea of positive attracts postivity is not a micro-level process but rather a macro level process.

If a person is thinking positive thoughts, then overall their life will take a positive direction. If a whole society is thinking positive thoughts, then the overall lives of the collective of people will take a positive direction.

Just because you can find an example where it does not work at a micro-level does not make this whole idea invalid.

Learning to control your emotions and emotional reactions is a huge part of growing up. And it's part of growing up that the left has made every attempt to downgrade and remove.

I’m aimless right now. I have many things to be thankful for, like my health, my job, and my character. But I’m all alone, aimless, directionless, and I don’t know what to do. But I haven’t stopped. I’ve increased my reading, and always training. I dreamt of starting a family before all of this, but I had to break away from the lies and separate from my long term relationship. Apart from asking myself everyday, what do I want, what must I do, I also have a strong contempt for most of humanity. This includes my family.

You are exactly where you need to be. It is not easy to process all of this information. It takes time and that time is better spent alone. You will come out the other side a better person with a new direction. Don't let others get you down. They will figure things out in time.

I'm trying my best to make sure I'm not motionless. Despite the breakdowns I am having, I am not stopping from moving. I am not stopping. I am focusing more on myself. Thank you fren for the words of encouragement.

You're welcome.

I was very depressed for a very long time. Learning to meditate and quiet my mind helped me tremendously. Sometimes it is good to stop and recalibrate. Step away from the drama and be in nature if you can. Force yourself to find the positive in every situation; over time, it becomes a habit and every day gets easier.

Have a great week.

As far as I'm concerned this is the most important post ever posted on this board.

It can be so hard at times to pay attention to your own thoughts but when you do...

Oh my goodness what a difference it can make!

I was contemplating the other day, that's it's useless to have worry, fear, anger etc ...

Just think about it, feelings, your body, your mind, are just tools. Just choose better tools or get rid of useless tools in your life.

I've been listening to Kat Kerr on Elijah Streams and she explains that the binding and loosing referred to in the Bible actually means that you can "loose" things from your soul like anger, bitterness, resentment, etc. and then you "bind" the love of God, the peace and joy of God to your soul. I have found that this really helps.

After watching lots of videos on youtube of auditors and random breath tests, which are very stressful situations, I have been able to reframe my attitude to being in such situations and will hopefully be much more calm, even jovial.

In fact, the best example of someone who is the master at this, is the Aussie Cossack. Here are two great examples:

"you can "loose" things from your soul like anger, bitterness, resentment, etc. and then you "bind" the love of God, the peace and joy of God to your soul."

This happened to me. I woke up one morning after having a vivid dream and nothing bothered me anymore. It was like I was set free. It was a dramatic change and it was instant.
