If something had gone wrong, it would forever tarnish the USA's reputation and prop up the Soviet Union in the grand pissing contest of the Cold War.
So, sure...
Land on the Moon and send just enough of the real footage to the Ruskies so they know we actually did it.
Then, televise a censored, edited, or outright mock copy of the original to show "live" just so it looks like astronauts are competent to the nth degree.
If the Ruskies deny the fake televised version, then air footage that indirectly supports the "live" version to shut them up.
Besides, we'd never been to the Moon. What if Armstrong stepped foot on the surface and immediately his suit was torn apart by acidic soil and then he popped like a pimple as his suit imploded?

I could talk about this for hours, but I completely agree with you. You'd be crazy to televise the actual event. Anything at all could have happened. There were literally, and I'm not even exaggerating this number, thousands of things that could have gone wrong from here to there and back.
We went, I'm 99% sure of that, but what the world saw on TV was not the moon landing.
We were there prior to that "televised" event. Amazing how our rocket tech has gone backwards/ stagnant since the 70s, similar to our electrical distribution, which is over 100 yrs old. Don't forget those Navy patents in 2019 one with zero gravity vehicle and the other regarding zero point energy, both with a schematics that looked over 70 years old. It really shows how much [They] control everything.

That's been my thought for quite some time, that the moon landings really happened but if they were using technologies that were far beyond what was publicly known they would want to keep it hidden, or maybe more simple if most of the film was damaged by radiation then the only option would be to fake some film for TV.
Alternatively, and because there's effectively zero evidence, there are those who talk about the secret space program, their tune is generally that they DID make it to the moon, but the aliens living there told them not to come back.

Project Orion (the current NASA project after the space shuttle was shelved), completely contradicts any notion that we went to the moon in the Apollo missions.
NASA engineers, talking about the capsule to be used for any future space expeditions, admit that they "haven't figured out how to get astronauts safely through the Van Allen Radiation Belts" yet. They literally say this.
Then, an Apollo astronaut was asked specifically about the VARB and he had no clue what it was.

Watch the doc American Moon, you can find it on YouTube. I believe there is a route that can avoid the worst parts of the van Allen radiation belts, but that's not the route the Apollo missions took. They went straight through the bad parts and then back through the same parts. Up until 1969, even months before it, the radiation was a real concern. There was no solution. People started stepping down in the months leading up to the mission. Then suddenly they just quit talking about the belts and pretended it was no longer a problem. Then they staged the moon landing. Whether or not we went with another crew and landed there or not is a different debate.
It’s hard for me to believe we’ve ever landing on the moon. Humans think we are so smart. And we can’t even make a windmill work well. An electric car that’s near worthless. I mean this list can go on forever. And I’m supposed to believe we landed a spacecraft, on the moon, with human life aboard, and took back off from the moon, to reconnect with the ship....in 1969! Please.
That’s a joke. Even modern movies like Martian, with state of the art tech that isn’t available even now, can’t fictionally make it successful without a high risk of failure. Point blank, it never happened. We’ve been to space, sure. We went up, and came back down. But docking, undocking...landing, relaunching off the moon, please.

Exactly. Elon Musk, probably with the assist of military, had amazing difficulties just trying to get a rocket to land itself. And we’re supposed to believe, in the 60’s they were ahead of us now? I mean its laughable.

I'm of the opinion that they had to land on the Moon but not because there was "alien tech" there and certainly not because it was the only way to beat the Soviet Union in a pissing contest...
Rather, landing on the moon activated a temporal marker that allowed other Esoteric and Spiritual events to take place.

As insane as it sounds, by landing on the Moon we propelled the scientific community in such a way that it unlocked the ability to conquer the subconscious mind.
Note, that after we "landed on the moon" the field of psychology became mainstream in ways never before seen.
Some may say it was just bound to happen on the natural course of scientific discovery, so my claim is based on correlation rather than causation, and sure, that's the logical viewpoint.
But it still doesn't detract from the notion that certain Markers must be achieved in order for Humanity to progress in certain fields of understanding. You can't raise up one point of a triangle without eventually requiring the other two points to follow suit. One point is inextricably bound by the other points such that one must concede and elevate the other two in order for the whole to rise up.

Were the moon landings we were shown the real ones, or were the moon landings done by those outside programs? In other words, did the moon landings occur under secret programs or were NASA's moon landings the real ones?
Ugh not this crap again. We landed on the moon, there is definitive proof in the form of retroreflectors left there as part of the Lunar Laser Ranging experiment. You can actually test this out yourself.
There are plenty of real conspiracy theory type things that turn out to be true...but this is not one of them.

Why wouldn't have Q said, "No. Moon landings are real?" The question was did NASA fake the moon landing? No would have made more sense when answering the question.
What if the response was actually communicating that FAKED moon landings are real. Programs exist outside of public domain.
