There are people who have been staunchly conservative in the face many challenges - those are the people we need to find and support. Dr Scott Jensen (running for MN governor) comes to mind. He took a stand in the middle of the Dem-panic, and was attacked by the left, and if I recall correctly, nearly lost his license to practice medicine.

I don't think being skeptical is being negative. You can have a very positive outlook on life, while having a negative view towards those who can't be trusted or reasoned with. I learned long ago not to put trust in people - they are flawed. God is totally trustworthy, and I trust him to lead me on paths of righteousness. Which I have also learned, have nothing to do with my righteousness, but God's righteousness at work in me. Which is not to say I'm not flawed - just that as I behold and focus on my Lord, he is slowly transforming my life.
