That’s right. Managers and very senior software developers rarely if ever make code commits. At my company, we “add value” by reviewing, coaching, coordinating “code commits” of the developers. However, my company has a 9:1 developer to manager ratio.
If I bought a company that had a 1:1 developer to manager ratio, I might start arbitrarily firing middle managers as well.
My uneducated guess would be that Twitter employed less developers/coders than would be normal because most of their stuff was made by CIA/Mossad/MI5/[insert intelligence agency of your choice here] and just implanted as-is into their operating backbone by the boardroom class.
I could be wrong, I'd leave that likelihood to guess as a percentage to you though.
You would also have to weigh the value of the code commits and if they are overseeing other people who are doing a lot of work too.
I mean, if you are managing 20 people and only 2 of them are working, that means you aren't working and those 2 can be shifted to a manager who has 20 people with 18 working and 2 needing to be laid off.
There's no way someone as successful as Elon Musk falls for the "Resume Commits" of people who were smart enough to make sure something (docs, comments, stupid code refactors) gets updated a lot.
He knows who is who and the first wave can be hidden behind people "not doing anything"
If they have found a chunk that identifies certain demographics and applies certain actions (eg "Conservative or Ivermectin" then apply a lifetime ban)then "Quality" is irrelevant.
Some of the best programmers/engineers I have ever known would think about what they were doing for weeks and then write/submit it over a day or two. Number of commits appears arbirtary to me. But that was games and not global propaganda machines.
Obviously just bullshit from the retards being fired. It's not like they're going to come out and say "I was justly fired for being biased and a lying piece of shit".
The dude thinks he's special and adds anything to the company... all these people at Twitter are delusional about the real world. Most people can be replaced in an instant and Elon gets that.
It’s funny how they use our terminology. The “badge of honor” was for getting banned by old Twitter, not for getting fired by Musk. “Goons” aren’t tech executives, they’re government workers who enforce the coercion of labor.
"know nothing about other than how much work they actually did."
That's a new one. But I like it.
The goons still have a job.
Gets laid off. Rants about goons online. Expensive stupid car won't start. Needs help from goons.
Lol if only.

This is the world that they want, right?
Are the goons the ones that take a gasoline powered generator to recharge the Tesla dead on the side of the road?
Inquiring minds and all...
I picked up on "code commits" which is a reference to changes or modifications made to software.

Very interesting thanks for sharing that.

I think I saw something about nine managers to every coder at T
Yeah, but at no point did Taylor Leese mention FAFO....
Not one single time, nor did he even imply it.....
At best, all he did is complain and whine, like leftists always do.....
calling a little BS on all this.

if you make a metric, it will be gamed. I imagine he wants to first fire the rot, then fire all those that are just there to milk and game the system.
The quantity of commits is probably going to look like a bell curve where both long tails are probably worth firing
then go fishing for quality

Are they keeping the Wine on Tap dispenser?
Replaced it for a whine on tap dispenser.
Excellent memes in the comments.
