Inb4 religion...Whats is a good reason why you havent armed yourself? With everything going on around us, it might benefit the world as a whole for you to equip yourself with an equalizer.
Go buy a cheap pistol at the very least and learn to put rounds on target. We need all the backup we can get.
Single woman over 60 and I have 3 hand guns in my gun safe. I take them to the range once every couple years to keep my comfort level. I hope to never have to use them but I will not let anyone infringe on me, my home or my rights!
Please do not broadcast your firearms. I assume you will soon have a boating accident fishing, and all firearms mentions would fall into the murky waters and unable to be recovered. ;)
You can tell us that story.
You must be psychic. That’s exactly what happened.
Hopefully, you've got something in easy reach. You never know who/what may come calling.
I lost them all in the lake while fishing, such a shame, all the ammunition too
😂 That's so crazy!! That's exactly how I lost all of mine!!😂😂
Must be an epidemic.😷
To the FBI glowies on this board, I have no firearms.
u/#durham
^ Look on the glowies face as he recovers them all from the bottom of the lake
LOL!
Cheap rifles would be much more effective and useful in the long run.
Exactly sometimes I don’t know the purpose of the many yt people showing off their extensive “arsenals” for what?!
Because it’s fun. Same reason some people have more than one car.
I have multiple cars and I used to have multiple firearms. Those were the good old days.
Same. Lost all mine in a horrific boating accident.
Ok but 2nd Amt is not about cars.
Never said anything about the second amendment, brother. It’s okay to own some guns just for fun. Not every gun you own has to be for protecting life and liberty. Just like how not every car has to be a reliable daily, I can have one to get me to work and one to enjoy on the weekends.
At least you put your weekend car to use. Showing off guns on YouTube is not what guns are for.
Fair enough, unless showing some off is what pays for the next ones 👌
We all should own something to protect ourselves, but damn that last sentence GLOWS.
a bit too quick on the trigger there, glowfinderanon.
I appreciate your input though...I love the ak47 platform :D
Nope, my trigger discipline is just fine.
thumbs up
You need to get your head out of the 'everything glows' mindset, amigo. It was a fun, and perhaps helpful, meme a while back. But now, we definitely need to start to take a stand - be bolder and less meek. The war is coming. We all know it. And we do know that the fbi, cia, etc are out to trap us. But FUCK THEM. They need to learn that we are not longer paranoid about what they might do to us. Like Red Dawn Radio says, "The first few men to take a stand are going down. Just the way it is. Sacrificed and made an 'example of'. But after that, the flood gates are open and there will be no stopping the trend they set." I hope that makes sense, amigo. Sorry about the long post, but I see so many men who've gotten stuck in what appears to be an 'overly paranoid' state, and I hate to see it. Buy more ammo, amigo, and God bless.
As a Canadian, I'm not a fan of guns but I 100% support the 2nd Amendment and swear to God it is what helped save all of humanity.
As a Canadian you are not a fan of guns? That’s problem number one.
Never allow the government to have the monopoly on use of force with firearms.
All Farmers should be allowed to own guns. All home owners and property owners should be able to own guns. I don't have to be a fan of them to support them. Recognize my open mindedness, not my personal feelings.
Don't be so open minded your brains fall out...and say you're sorry!
Thanks for sharing. I suppose when you own a gun you can be more forceful in your strong wordings. ;)
I don't own one for other reasons,...and for a Canadian that wasn't much of an apology.
We now charge for apologies. People started taking them for granted. I'm so funny sometimes.
kek
I don't own any because I have TD (thanks psych meds!) in my left arm, wrist, and hand. The last year or so I would dry fire my handgun and I came to the conclusion that I became too dangerous to live fire. I didn't want to go to the range and have everyone yell "Duck and cover! Here comes Miss Twitchy!!" So I sold it.
And as a note to folks who don't understand our gun laws: Yes, even though I'm mentally ill, I can still legally purchase guns because I have not been deemed in a court of law to be mentally ill. That means that I have never caused any trouble that landed me before a judge. I may be cuckoo but I pay my bills and I don't bother others. And as you can see, I have enough presence of mind to know that my twitching became a safety hazard. No one even suggested that I had become an unsafe shooter. I made that decision myself. People are more afraid of me in the grocery store because if I have a can or jar in my left hand, it can go flying at any minute!
Just for you I've found this clip of Dr Strangelove fighting his own arm.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaTR46iU1Do&t=120s
I have epilepsy btw. so no offence meant.
Lol. If we can't laugh about it it means we take life too seriously. Although I was mortified a couple of weeks ago when I was in a crafts store and I had something small and lightweight in my hand. All of the sudden it flew out of my hand towards another shopper. I said, "I'm so sorry. I have a twitch and I swear I was not throwing it at you." Fortunately she just laughed and said not to worry about it. Thank God for people who don't take everything so seriously!
My mother grew up in a culture where slap tapping when you laughed at a comment was common.
After I went to college, she was in the store with her sister & a younger fellow got her laughing & she swatted his butt. My Aunt was mortified & called my mom out on it. The guy laughed it off & shot back that he appreciated good looking women taking notice of his scrawny glutes. Both my mom & aunt couldn't stop laughing & apparently held the line up for a couple minutes trying to calm down.
If we can laugh at others mistakes, out lives will miss some fantastic laughs & memories.
edit: My mother did her best to make sure my siblings & I never picked up her habit. She hated it once she moved to Utah. Everyone though she was flirting. Oddly, that line of reasoning didn't help her boys stop LOL
Too funny! Your mom sounds like a great lady. And thank goodness that young man has a sense of humor!
She's going to be telling that story for years!
Oh how I hope she only tells it to people who have a good sense of humor!
True story: I had a full on seizure in a furniture store. I lost consciousness and bit my tongue. An employee grabbed a new pillow from the shelves and put it under me and I got blood on it. My wife told me that bit.
I always told people afterwards that she was the best quick thinking employee they had at the store. Know why?
In the heat of the moment, she chose the cheapest pillow!
Lol. Smart girl!
The SCOTUS has ruled that 'law enforcement' does NOT have the duty and is Not responsible for protecting The Citizen. That alone makes any 'gun control' law, null and void. The CITIZEN is responsible for their own protection and that applies to Chicago, NY, LA, DET. SF, and every other communist city. The 'police' simply can not and will Not protect YOU.
Shit. Why not a collection?
I have 12 ARs, 7 unbuilt lowers, 6 semi-auto rifles, 2 bolt action rifles, 8 shotguns, 14 pistols, and 1 revolver.
Nice! Whats your favorite one? I have to get a big safe for mine and Im debating whether to anchor it in the garage or have 5 people carry the thing to my master bedroom closet, which I dont allow anyone entrance.
Is the bedroom floor robust enough? The safe will get filled...
I am a small step above a plywood house in terms of the wood used...so now you got me thinking.
Do I put in inside the house on the 1st floor under the stairs or anchor it somehow in the garage?
Anchoring is necessary regardless where it’s placed.
Another variable is will you be able to get to it post fire? Will it fall through and be buried in rubble? In the hottest burning part of the house? Does it have suitable fire/heat resistance rating?
These are the things I needed to know about buying a safe. Thank you :D
Anytime! I asked the same questions as I was shopping. Good luck!!
Oh!!! Buy a larger one than you currently need...you will need it sooner than you think.
Man, naming my favorite was easy when I had half dozen. Now they are like children. I like them all.
Any gun I don't like gets traded or sold pretty quick. Like the Stevens Model 67 410 pump, Ruger 10/22 jam-o-matic, Savage Model 112 with worst trigger ever, Mossberg Patriot with the cheap plastic stock, and the Springfield 911 that would jam more often than a terrible garage band.
A short list of my favorites would be the Savage 110T-SR 300 mag that can shoot 1" groups at 500 yards, the M&P 10 I waited 10 years to get, the M&P 15 Magpul edition ('cuz I'm a Magpul fanboy), the M&P 45, M&P Shield, Kimber 1911, Mossberg 835, SKS type 56 with a monte carlo stock, AR-9 pistol, AR-15 26", AR-15 80% lower #2, the custom AR-10 heavy weight, the Bodyguard 380 I carry everywhere, the JTS AR-12, my Traditions Bison 1858 with a 15" barrel, Mossberg 590M, the ....
My short list of guns to get next are a Noreen BN36X3 300 Mag, Zastava ZPAPM70 with walnut stock, Henry 44 mag Big boy, Black Aces Pro L, Mossberg 590 Retro, a S&W Model 460 VXR 8", a 1896 Krag, building a AR-15 with Walnut stock, a ...
Oh my goodness .... haha this is goals. I only have a few compared to you. I have a weatherby that probably feels like your savage...such an awesome feeling to wield that kind of accuracy. I would like to pickup a scar17 for numbers sake. Other than that maybe build my dream m4 for a combat situation and a few pistols just to say I did it. I need to get that concealed carry, just hate being in class for 10 hrs
Shit. If I ever get busted the news would report it as "Q anon had 50+ guns and enough ammo to supply a small army! He had a dozen AR-47, 5 AK-14, 8 shot rifles, 4 deer blasters, and 15 glock revolvers. There was enough ammo for a week of sustain fire!!!" lol
Not everyone has the their mental health in check enough to not take their own life. Having a gun makes killing yourself easier imo.
Easier than jumping off a bridge, or overdosing on a drug, or slashing one's wrist??? Why should my Constitutionally guaranteed rights be restricted because of someone else's fragility? Their rights end where mine begin. That's the same as asking me to embrace someone else's delusion and requiring me to use their preferred pronouns. Not gonna happen.
Nobody here is suggesting that your rights be limited. This guy posted why some people might choose not to exercise their rights.
That's not how I read it,
"Not everyone has the their mental health in check enough to not take their own life. Having a gun makes killing yourself easier imo".
The comment directly states that people with mental health issues are more easily able to kill themselves because of the availability of guns. The implication is that if guns were not as available, people would be less likely to kill themselves. This seems to suggest that guns should be made less accessible.
No, that's not what it says. What it says is that people with mental health issues are more easily able to kill themselves if they have guns. It says nothing about availability; it's a comment on possession. Which makes perfect sense in the context of the question, which is "why don't you own a firearm", again about possession rather than availability.
No, the implication is that if someone is likely to kill himself, that person should choose not to possess a gun. Nothing in this post is about gun availability.
As you wish
Great point. I think that is one of popular responses to not having a gun and I commend people for knowing their own personal limits. We will carry for you anons, no worries!
Guns are tools. As with any tool humans utilize, there are fools who do not know how to use them properly and cunts that use them nefariously. I don't like them but I know damned well without weapons on a par with what the PTBs wield this old world would already be a giant slave colony run by {THEM}.
Some may interpret this differently, but this is why I don't have a gun:
Isaiah 2:3-4
3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
There’s also a statement in the Bible that says if you don’t have a sword, sell a cloak and buy one.
I wonder what the context was 🤔
Fucking hell, amigo. Suicidal? 15 years old?? Please reach out and seek men to help you out. Christian church is a good place to start. Visit your local fire dept and talk with the men there. These suggestion sound odd, perhaps, but the idea is to put you in touch with good strong men who might be able to help you swing your life and mindset into another direction. God is real. God is your father. Christ is your brother. And there are men here on earth who are willing to be there for you when you need them. God bless
I'm sorry to hear that. Whether you believe in prayer or not, I will pray for your health. I was diagnosed as bipolar as a kid (I'm now in my 50s so back then it was "manic-depressive") so I know what you are going through. Teenage years are hard enough but depression makes it hell. In one respect your luckier than I since mental health is more widely discussed. But on the other hand it has become almost fashionable to claim mental illness so that those who truly need help get lost in the shuffle. I hope you have people IRL who love you and can be there for you. If not, you have all of us here.
I own many guns and am a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment, but guns are not for everyone.
You're right. Driving behind the wheel is not for everyone either. Have you seen some of the people they give licenses to? Holy hell.
Stay away from parades!
Died Suddenly has me worried about this for the first time. I am teaching my kids to be aware of the surroundings more than ever.
Afraid I’ll be tempted to use it on myself. Childhood vaccines fucked me up.
I’m in no way encouraging you to break your convictions, but have you been to a gun range recently to shoot? For me shooting clears my mind like no other activity as it demands focus on the “now”. It’s where I go to stop thinking about the memories I can’t change. Just food for thought. Reach out anytime buddy if you’re feeling like shit and need to vent. Take care.
Thank you so much. You’re a sweet person.
I’m all for people having guns and have no convictions against them. I just know I have issues with anxiety and depression so I’m not risking it.
Admittedly, shooting would be fun.
Spent time in a penal colony. In fact, I'm still here. It's a shame, could use one for the spiders.
Never go for cheap, although glocks are semi-ok.
There are plenty of cheap, reliable 9mms out there nowadays. Especially the ones that are clones of a Gen 3 Glock, like the PSA Dagger, which can be had for ~$299.
Some glocks are ok, clones would worry me more than antiifas or BLM terrorists.
I’ve never owned a bad one. There’s a reason so many LE agencies use them. Certainly not the best out there though, just relatively cheap and reliable. No reason to be worried about clones, unless they’re made with inferior materials. The Gen 3 clones use the same operating principles as a genuine Glock and have parts interchangeability.
Parts interchangeability don't equal quality tho, but ok.
Just saying you could use oem Glock parts or take advantage of the huge Glock aftermarket when you build from a stripped frame/slide.
Whats wrong with Hi-points?!?!?! :P:P:P lol. I do have a hi-point carbine that I actually love. It was cheap like $250 before Covid. And it's great to teach newbies on because its basically point and shoot. Not much going on, little recoil because it weights like 8 lbs @_@. But accurate as all shit. The handguns are terrible though. Not very ergonomic whatso ever.
Hi-Point for the win! I love these guns!
Yeah a buddy of mine has two hipoints, .45 and 9mm, they are fun to shoot and work reasonably well.
If I wasn't fixed up on such things I might break down and get one just for a Truck gun. But no hicap mags, and yeah I've seen the stuck together mag-things.
Long ago I picked up .30 Carbines, less than 200 each, so there's Truck gunz. Then after that bought a Mini-14 for less than 250.
I carry daily and would not carry a 'cheap' handgun, if your Life truly might depend on it it's worth the upgrade to have dependability. And dependable doesn't have to be expensive, 500 bucks get's it done. That's one reason I'm a Ruger fan, they are dependable, accurate, indestructable and not expensive, and tend to eat everything you feed them.
I have crazy roomies. One was a serious alcoholic with anger issues. I have big dogs, many men here, and one wit left. Also, anything can be used as a weapon. If I think I am going to need one, however, there is a gun shop half a block away.
I am glad this is your decision to make.
I will share the gun store is only open certain hours and the background check may not come back the same day. Also consider payment method. Its possible to keep your purchase on the down low, and store a firearm disassembled, in two or more hidden lock boxes. It could then be retrieved and reassembled in less time than going out. My definition of "safe storage" is a level 2 holster on my hip, just to clarify.
Dogs are awesome. Happy Thanksgiving!
Didnt David kill the Giant with a low caliber projectile????? Basically same shit imho :P
Well, I own 5 sooo……. Time to buy another one!
How many guns are enough?...
Just...one...more...
Even my wife knows the answer to this one of life’s many questions...
The greater good

Even religion, if God is your source, do you have a job? If God is your healer, how much are you using common sense?
