This woman understands the American Dream. It is the land of opportunity. Each person is accountable to their own decisions and can make their life a success in whatever measure they choose. We do not have a caste system. Anyone can succeed and anyone can fail, all on their own. It is easier for some than others, yes. Is it harder for some than others, yes. The success stories of those that overcome difficult circumstances is why we look at them as heroes. The rich and famous celebrity children are expected to succeed and ridiculed when they fail.
I see why kids can't read, write or do arithmetic. The teachers are too busy with other stuff that is best left to parents to discuss with THEIR children.
Agree, parents need to drive the direction their kids take but reality is teachers have a lot of time with kids. I'm impressed that this 'good' message came from a young teacher.
And those hours you get with them are very administrative - feed, get ready for school, get ready for bed, get homework done because somehow all those hours weren't enough to get actual work done, etc. They rig it against parents, this is by design. Homeschool however it takes, for their souls!
That's true. It's conditioning them to work at some job. I did that for 22 years, now I'm freelance. I want him conditioned for that but I need to figure out how to homeschool and still be able to work. My kids mom doesn't live here, thank God.
Gotcha, praying for you and kid. Homeschool is a family thing, if you can't get help from your family then find other families and pool your resources. Much of school is daycare, and they know it. It only takes an hour of book learning each day for a well educated first grader, add 15-20 min per day each year after. Good luck, fren- God will guide you.
Thank you. On the bright side, he goes to Christian school, no more public. I'm pretty comfortable with him there. Just wish i didn't have to pay more on top of taxes but it's only money.
That's exactly right, and I speak from experience. Parents have the idea now that their kids are the teachers' problems and that they have no responsibility for what happens in the classroom. Teachers then spend at least half their instructional time correcting behaviors and trying to keep the room from completely disintegrating. It's such a waste of time. Kids who want to learn suffer the most in these situations. And you can thank a lawyer for that.
More than that, honestly. Look up the Humanists that designed the public indoctrination system. They openly said it is designed to replace family and church with government and state, to produce compliant workers for the inevitable consolidation with communism. No morals or even independent thought, just the opposite.
10% of kids have dyslexia and need specialized instruction. An increasing amount have learning disorders probably from glyphosate, fluoride, etc in the food supply. Also, they moved the standards down to where 6th grade math is now 4th grade math. I was amazed at how much they expected.
She’s not teaching WOKE. She’s correctly giving kids hope. She’s telling them they need to take responsibility—she’s urging them to stop thinking of themselves as victims.
From the first day of kindergarten until the last day of high school, from the hours of 8am to 10 pm, kids spend 7% of their timer in front of teachers... the other 93 % is spent in the care of parents/guardians. etc. We saddle teachers with an undue responsibiltiy in regard to the future of our children. A child rises or falls based upon the guidance an influence at home.
Our first authority figures are our care givers/parents, and we mimic their behaviors. As we get older, we see that our parents may have been wrong about a few things (from personal experience; my parents were somewhat irresponsible and cold-hearted). We then, as adults, have to decide who we really want to be, and we begin to apply independent thought to our actions. This is what I gleaned from teacher's comment.
yes ma'am

Yes and this is why the woke agenda in schools is so dangerous. Teachers get 8 hours a day, give or take, with your kids. I might get 5 or six

That's the spirit! Do keep an eye on them anyway, around here even the 'best' happily went common core.

'Tis the problem with letting strangers raise your child.
