Perhaps he should ask himself why "mass shootings" don't tend to happen at gun stores or police stations but do tend to happen in "gun free zones" and in states/areas that have the tightest restrictions on gun ownership and carrying.

I remember a latino colleague of mine some two decades ago telling me a story about being in Florida. He bumped into a guy (edit: at a latino club, perhaps with some organized crime attachment with the individual) and felt his weapon. He was like, “excuse me sir”; both knowingly what had happened. An armed society is a polite society.
If he doesn't know the difference between passing concealed carry and passing constitutional carry he shouldn't talk about it. Florida has had concealed carry for a very long time. They are also one of the most popular states for non-residents (like me) to get a permit because of their reciprocity.
Constitutional carry is great, but I will still always get a permit. Especially for the state reciprocity. I've also found that if I get pulled over for speeding (or whatever) I end up chatting with the cop about guns, carry, and whatever is on their minds. I've never been disarmed either. The 3 times I was pulled over in the last 15 years all ended the same way - no ticket and a thank-you for carrying (but I do live in TX).
Traffic stops are one of the scariest things cops have to do because they have no idea what awaits them in the car. If they pull up my plate info and see I have a concealed permit, and then I give it to them with my license, they are 100% put at ease.
