He's a well-known comedic and dramatic actor in America who was felled by something back in April that hospitalized him. The family would not disclose what had happened, and it was kept very hush-hush, so speculation was rife. People wondered if it was a drug overdose, a vaccine-related stroke or heart attack, a suicide attempt, etc.
Sounds like he's still not giving out any explanation, but now at least we know he can stand, walk, talk and see. So that's something, anyway...

Why not just tell people? He's one of the most public facing types of people in our world today and he relies on his fan base to get viewers on game shows and to draw audiences for movies.

The image link you gave and others I found online put side-by side with a still taken from this video gives some interesting contrasts. Going further if you take today's still image and make it partially transparent and overlay it on top of the 2019 image, you can line up his eyes, nose and teeth exactly on the two images, but then you notice this:
Can we write all of this off to excessive weight loss? Some, but I don't think the bone structure can 'shrink' in both width and height, can it?
