In mid-May I fractured my L4 verterbrae. I have had Osteopenia/Osteoporosis for almost 20 years. I ended up having the verterbrae collapse and now am facing major surgery in two weeks. Both my fall and the collapse were probably because my bone density was not good.
It will be a two day surgery on Sept 27th and Sept 28th. I am scheduled to have the verterbrae removed with a cage fusion placed from L2 to S1.
I have never broken any bones before nor have I ever had any major surgery. I am 70 years old. I was a very active person before falling, doing three minute planks exercising daily with women much younger than I am, riding my bike and doing all my own landscaping/gardening. So the last 4 months walking with a walker and now a cane has been very hard on my psyche.
I am not jabbed but signed a release to get a transfusion because my husband who is also not jabbed insisted I do so. Still I let my surgeon know I am not comfortable with a transfusion. Please pray it will NOT be needed.
In the meantime, I am now considered at high risk for fractures and am giving myself injections of bone protein (currently on a sample of tymolos but will be on forteo after the script is approved).
As a believer I do not fear death. However, I do not wish to end up with any permanent pain or disability. Nor do I wish to have this surgery fail and have to go back in for more surgery. I read up on lumbar spinal fusions and discovered there is a 50% failure rate.
So please pray I make it through surgery without any blood transfusions. That I have a successful surgery and heal up properly.
Thanks in advance to all you prayer warriors!
Lord I lift up your precious child swimkin...you know her every need and especially the desire of her heart that the surgery will be successful and that she will not need a transfusion. Lord I pray that you will guide the surgeon's hand and that you will extend your healing hand on swimkin whether miraculously or through surgery.
I pray that her health will be restored and that you will give her and her husband peace about everything they are going through. You tell us your grace is sufficient even in times of trouble. And we have the assurance that if we abide in you, you abide in us. There is NOTHING to difficult for you. I pray that swimkin pictures the poem "Footprints in the Sand" knowing that Jesus carries us when the trials are too great...give her assurances of your all encompassing love and compassion for your children...we ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ...who is, who was and who will always be our Lord and Savior...Amen
P.S. I am NE of Atlanta and am O+ and I would be more than happy to donate unvaccinated blood for a transfusion if it is at all feasible...
ThanQ. I also am O positive. But my surgery will be at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC
Well, that is a ways...but God willing you WON'T need it. Can you give some blood to store before surgery? Being older I sure commiserate with your situation...sometimes our health can turn on a dime as we get older. And don't you just hate trials and tribulations...but this will make you so much more dependent on God and His plan for our lives...refining fire...God bless you and your family as you prepare for surgery and all that it entails...
You can give blood for yourself to he used in a surgery 3-5 weeks beforehand. You might check to see if you can do that. Prayers for you!
I would seriously look into this.
God bless you and I know that you are in good hands. I left my cancer at Big Duke eight years ago. Duke orthopedics are some of the best in the world.
Oh shit. I’m in Tryon. I’m type o neg, rh neg and vax free. Never donated before cause it scares the shit out of me
I can only get O positive blood. But can donate and did in the past to all other positive blood types
Typo, negative blood is the universal donor. Since you’re all positive, I can give you blood and you can use it safely. Type O negative can only get type O negative blood.
Oh ok. That makes sense.
My blood indicates that I’m from the Nephilium bloodlines too.
Rh negative, yes, is considered a possibility of that. Not positive blood types.
It’s just like having a blood sample taken, just longer.
Before the cancer made me stop, I was a multi-gallon blood donor.
There will be cookies and juice! 😎
Amen.
Prayers offered just now and I've added you to my daily prayer list.+++
Please keep us posted on how it goes. We care. :-))
ThanQ!
Yes...if you can't post please ask your husband to post an update.🙏💕
Dear heart, I pray for a successful surgery and that you come out afterwards as healthy and hearty as you have been. Recovery can take time, so I also pray for patience for you. Do what physical therapy you need to do and that will serve you well. A 3-min plank...IMPRESSIVE!
Yeah I know. I’m still doing crunches in my bed since I haven’t had the back pain for awhile just to keep my core strength up
👍👍👍
👏
Analogous blood (donate your own and have it preserved) is an option but I'm not sure you have time for that before your surgery.
I wish you the best in your surgery and recovery. Be sure to read and understand the consent you are providing to the doctor about what "medical" decisions he can make for you while under anesthesia. I've heard (but not verified) they can decide you may need certain "vaccinations" and give them without you knowing. I don't say this to add more concern to your plate but just as something to look into to assure this won't happen.
Prayers up
Prayers for a successful surgery and a quick recovery.
Praying for your surgery and full recovery.
You can donate your own blood. They store it, like they store any blood for tranfusions, and can administer it during surgery if necessary. Safer as it’s yours, not some anonymous donor. I believe it’s done several weeks before so your body can re-charge the blood. Delay surgery if necessary.
Can’t delay. The collapsed vertebrae is pushing on my spinal cord. Was already told to go to ER if I get paralyzed.
Surgery is already delayed from a second opinion. Also have a two hour drive to go there. So banking my own blood is not an option. . I am on extra iron to boost my own blood. And doctor has split up my surgery into two days to lessen my chance for a transfusion.
I wish you the best.
Many years ago (20+) before my mastectomy, one of the ‘requirements’ of my doctor was that I go to the blood bank, give blood - that blood was to be used for my surgery should I need it, if not, it went to the blood bank.
My prayers are with you! 🙏
Dear God please heal this wonderful Patriot whose heart is filled with nothing but love, and needs all of us now including you. We ask you to restore his health to where he was, to continue doing the wonderful things in life he makes good with his time here on Earth. We ask this in Jesus name amen.
Prayers will be sent right now.
There is also a machine that "recycles" your own blood. I have been against transfusions since my teens, a personal choice, and had to have major back surgery in 2013. The drs. Thought I was being difficult when I said no transfusions, but were able to employ that option for me, since my surgery was on an emergency basis I was getting wheeled into surgery when they learned of my refusal of transfusions. Discuss with your doctor the options available to you for that. Hope your surgery goes well & wishing you a very speedy recovery.
Prayers on the way fren.
God be with this person and the surgeon.
In your sons name Jesus Christ.
Amen.
Done 🙏🙏🙏 Good luck. Got a plate and fused 3 vertebrae in my neck 7 years ago. Glad I did it. Still isn't how God made it, but its a lot better than it was.
Prayers up! Take K2 with D3 vitamin for your bones. I have a friend that successfully had his neck bones fused.
Prayers sent in your behalf, praying all goes well.
Praying.
Will pray. Best wishes. I recently had shoulder replacement surgery and know how you feel!
Prayers for you u/swimkin 🙏🙏🙏

You will be in my prayers. I don't know if it means anything but reading your post I just had a very strong feeling that everything will be okay. God bless you.
May God Bless and Protect You. May He guide your surgeon with divine skill and wisdom for a successful surgery. And may you heal fully, quickly and be completely restored in your physical abilities and be pain free. Amen.
Prayers going up for you Swimkin.🙏
Praying for you
I am praying for your surgery to be successful and that someone who is unvaxxed and O positive from near Duke Regional Hosp., Durham, NC will see this and get in touch with you to stand by and/or donate blood should you need it.
You are so in my prayers, swimkin.
I cannot find it at the moment, but there is a medical article I believe in the Epoch Times, about the fraud around bone density and osteoporosis.
Short version: the condition was invented by docs using the bone densities of 20yr-olds, and anyone outside of that suddenly had this new condition. And therefore they need calcium supplements to make their bones denser, thicker, harder. However, we're not really supposed to have hard bones all through life, they're supposed to be more spongy as we age. But now we've made them hard and BRITTLE so currently more older women break major bones than ever before, because we don't absorb shocks, we can only break like chalk.
Middle and seasoned citizens, do NOT pay attention to scans that result in pill pushers shoving calcium down your throats!! Eat well and naturally and you will be what you're supposed to be.
Prayers for you, sister, from the Triad. Keep us updated if you can, praying that everyone attending you is based and watching out for you like God's own angels.
I had a great aunt who was a hunch back. Osteoporosis runs in my family. It’s real. I am aware the biophosnates many get put on for this only cause your bones to be bad and more brittle. This is something I didn’t know until a year or so ago. Basically, they just stop your bones from shedding off old bone. They keep the bad stuff and make it worse. A little over a year ago I went on a natural supplement was actually building my bones up. I was happy to learn this in April before I fell when I had my last Dexascan. It works slowly . Unfortunately, I probably needed to be on it for a couple more years as many who were in it said they no longer took the biophosnate drugs. I was looking forward to going off those drugs. I’m still on it but Now I’m also on a bone protein injection. But can only be on it up to 18 months and then they’ll want to put me back on a biophosnate again.
Sorry for the genes, I've known several women who had great genes but over-calcified and wound up in a lot of unnecessary pain and suffering. Prayers for you and yours, and that the medical people do the right thing by you.
Swimkin, this is difficult. We may not fear death but it sure would be nice if, unitl then, life is comfortable and peaceful.
Compassionate One, please hold your precious child in your hands. Heal her, protect her, let her feel your love. Give her a wonderful life to enjoy with dear husband. And so it is. ❤️🙏❤️
I pray that you have a quick and successful operation and recovery. Please consider boning up on probiotics ahead of the surgery, my father contracted c diff during a robotic back surgery. It was the prophylactic antibiotics that allowed it to happen. It’s very very dangerous past a certain age, and he has never fully recovered from the devastation it wreaked on him. It’s not something widely known but it is exceedingly dangerous.
Thank you. I will look into doing some probiotics. Hospitals have some nasty germs floating around for sure
I will most definitely pray for you and ask for your to receive healing from the Lord. If you need to talk - I'm available - we previously talked - I just had 4th lumbar surgery - L4 fusion, L4,L5 fusion with cage and bone graft. Bone graft doesn't seem to be doing well at this point. But pain wise, it wasn't as bad as the fusion in 1989. Much less pain.
I hear it takes a long time for bone to grow back. Im glad to hear you had less pain this time.
Praying for you to have a successful surgery with NO transfusions needed!
Father God Please Touch Your daughter with Your Perfect Healing. Guide the Dr's hands and give them wisdom. We ask this in Your Precious Name! 🙏🙌
Any churches around you that do healings? Mine does...Brattleboro, Vermont. I'd seriously look around and see what's there.
