Will he be mad at me for being with my bf before we marry? We’ve been together for 5 years in a deep committed relationship. We intend to marry. I don’t believe in Gov marriages. What makes me married to my spouse in God’s eyes? He has promised, committed and even gave me a promise ring with vows to me. And has always stayed faithful to me. I feel guilty about it daily and repent about it daily but I keep seeing people say God says it’s okay as long as you intend to marry. Help!
Church marriage was invented by Church to keep some unholy registers at a time when Indulgences were also usual: Didn't Jesus bless the Cana wedding by offering them the best wine, instead of brandishing his whip at them like he did at the temple merchants?
When we were prepairing for our wedding in our parrish, the priest told us we already were married, and the Church’s role just consisted of blessing our Union. So yes, you are married because of your commitment, just make it blessed and official.
Your feelings of apprehension are well founded. I don't want to cause you more consternation as you sound really confused but I would brace yourself for a coming crisis of faith as all the world's organized religions are revealed to have been massively manipulated from antiquity.
Ashlanddog is a champion here and I have much respect for him but seriously, neither he nor anyone else can honestly answer deep questions on the nature of reality for you.
The bottom line is all this is a matter of faith unless you undertake some direct personal mystical experience. No-one knows what God said because the deep state has had so long with these manucripts.
God would not "speak" anything anyway, he would instantly transfer huge conceptual edifices directly into total understanding without something so pedestrian as english. It is all so anthropomorphic. These religions take the human experience and consciousness level and apply it to the God head. The fact that you are feeling guilty all the time is evidence that the deep state propaganda is working to confuse and obfuscate any decently enlightening knowledge of God or our own consciousness and how we fit into the universe.
Just have an open mind and realize that you have been lied to. It is all we can do at this point, but decent, unobfuscated, unmanipulated truth is nearly here.
I believe in some states after living together for so long, you become a “common law wife”. Some folks are forced into this, such as my brother, his girl would lose money from a previous marriage as well as income from the state, plus, I think they have some tax advantage that I don’t know about for sure. Check into the common law wife for your state.
Marriage was necessary to protect the offspring between a man and a woman, to declare the child's lineage as a legal heir, to acquire their father's name. It is a legal contract. Children born out of wedlock were not entitled to any claim or title. I have no idea how God "really" sees it. I trust that God guides us through life with his laws, so, in the first known laws, the Ten Commandments, adultery is a direct refusal of his laws. Have either of you been married before, or still married to another? If not, how could you be seen as committing adultery? If you are preventing conception, how do you feel about using birth control? Some Conservatives think that all birth control outside of the rhythm method is sinful, some do not. God blesses marriage but does not command it, is the general rule of thought. It is a ritual, a legal bond, and it protects the offspring, all good reasons to comply, but in God's eyes? As far as I understand, he condemns lust, fornication, and adultery. abortion and homosexuality. I do not get why two people cannot commit themselves to each other in the eyes of God outside of ritual, but I would pray on it.
So basically are you saying the Protestants just disregarded certain biblical scripture they preferred over those used in the original Roman Catholic bible? Meaning the Catholic Bible is closer to Christ’s apostles intent?
What you are really saying though based on historical fact that the Catholic Bible is closer to the true meaning of what the Apostles preached. It is afterall the first formalized religion based on the early Christians. Not saying that everything the Catholic Religion is correct bc it is an organized religion. However, It was the Protestants that split off from them.
Get yourself a King James bible and read it and pray for understanding. Anything or anyone that contradicts what's in that KJV Bible is a heretic and an apostate. You should run from them for they are deceivers.
There are many PERVERTED versions of the bible. These two documents outline the history and examples of these perversions.
If God says it is sin - it IS sin. Doesn't matter what this mixed up world says or what the many deceivers say. Put on the whole armour of God. God bless you.
It would have been nice to read the texts written in stone. I saw a version of Socrates quote on a cemetery once. After looking into it, I read that an author penned the quote, but the quote seemed to point to Socrates statement at his trial.
Just read the charges were corrupting the youth and introducing new deities.
Regardless of minor events and other things in whatever Bible version you read, there are MAJOR aspects that are common to virtually all: God created the Universe, Earth, and humans. Humans sinned. God instituted a system for humans to atone for their sins through various sacrifices and actions. Humans were not capable of atoning for their sins by attempting to follow all the requirements "the law". God came to the Earth as a human, Jesus, who showed humans how to live, and sacrificed Himself as the FINAL payment for the sin we are all born with. All that is required to have sin's forgiven ("atoned for"), is to accept the free gift of salvation from God through acceptance of Jesus as your personal savior, and repent of your sins. Salvation is not a license to continue sinning.
All religious texts around the world, were written by men with an agenda. God is all around us at all times, and no books or temples are needed to be with Him. "Every day, people are straying away from the church, and returning to God". Lenny Bruce.
Buyer beware. All copyrighted versions of the Bible are subject to change. The "Word of God" purchased today will be put up for sale with "new revisions" tomorrow.
Greed drives the manipulations and the "Christian believer" thinks new is better.

So long as you’re not using a super modern translation like the New Message or Living Word versions, you’re going to be fine. You’ll get the truth that you need whether you use the NASB, ESV, KJV, etc. (though I personally recommend the KJV).
The main point of contention between denominations is which books should be in the Bible. I personally hold that the 66 books in the so called “Protestant” Bible are actually the Word of God. These books have been verified to be written by who they say they are written by. In the case of the New Testament, it has the books that it has because those books are known to be written by people who witnessed Jesus after His resurrection, and have been quoted by church fathers by at least the second century if not the first.
The books of the Apocrypha do not have the same track record as the core 66 books. They’re not bad, and they even provide some helpful historical context, but they shouldn’t be held as Scripture. You’re not really missing out on any doctrine by neglecting it.
Some links for further reading; it’s good that you’re asking these kinds of questions. It’s always important to know for sure what you believe in:
No….the 66 canonized books are solid. The Catholic Church has added in Maccabees. If you read the Old and New Testament you can tell without doubt there is One author although forty writers. It has the same tone…Maccabees doesn’t fit in with the rest….it reads differently.
Satan is the master counterfeiter and the author of confusion. Multiple religions and bibles are made to do just that, confound the simplicity that is Christ.
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
2 Corinthians 11:3 KJV
The message is clear and simple: man was created to fellowship with God but sin separated that fellowship with Adam and eve eating the fruit they were told not to.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
Romans 5:12 KJV
So from that sin onward, all men are born dead spiritually, separated from that fellowship with God. Before sin, Adam and Eve walked in the garden with God.
“for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”. Romans 3:23 KJV
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:23
But God being a just God, made a way to reconnect that fellowship that was broken in the garden.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:6
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
There is only one way to re-establish that connection and it is thru the death and resurrection of Jesus on the cross, A pure sinless sacrifice.
“that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.. Romans 10:13
Jesus is the only way, if there was anything else you could do then Jesus’ death would be in vain and not needed.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
Now that the foundation / fundamentals have been discussed there are many versions of the Bible and they take and change key points and words. Some not as extreme as others but when studying the scripture it can change hidden pictures / elements. For instance in the book of Samuel some versions remove the reference man child, why is that important? Because it’s a picture of Jesus in the Old Testament small subtle changes over time pervert the pure words of the Bible. yes it was manipulated/that’s why the common material between Matthew & Luke is known as the Q-Source. someone (maybe an undercover white hat?) made it easy for us to identify the important words of Jesus without the ‘elite’ knowing what’s going on.
Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself. The bible points to this... All parts missing will be brought to light. All parts edited will also be known. Truth is stronger than deceit. The light in the darkness...
Yes, much has been taken from the Bible. I guess this is less well-known than I thought it was. I was taught from an early age that the translations and re-translations of the Bible take meaning from it. Changing words and specifics changes the meaning of the verses.
My wife's niece provided a "bedtime Bible stories" book to my children. I've read through some of it and I find myself needing to add context and detail to some stories, and outright correcting other stories.
I don't care who is critical of this, because I know that all translations are flawed, but I use the King James Version Bible because is among the oldest translations and that it retains much of the meaning contained therein.
Consider the verse "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." A re-translation changes this to "who strengthens me". But is this really the meaning of the verse? Does it really mean that I can do all things through Christ, so long as they are the things that strengthen me?
Think about it, find a good translation (not a re-translation), and most importantly ask God which is the correct Word of God. Ask Him earnestly which is the correct faith and how to find it. Ask and ye shall received, knock and it shall be opened unto you. Ask in faith. Go to Him and implore which faith is correct and which is the Word of God.
Yes, Catholic Church changes the scriptures to suit man. Rev 22 paragraph
18 for I testify unto every man that hearth the words of the prophecy of this book if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. Revelation 23 paragraph 19 And if any Man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
I know you are truly seeking , there are others here that can help you much more than I, I am the least of God's creatures. I consider myself a literal Christian. And I always do my own research and interpretation. Some churches and preachers tend to pick and choose what scriptures they want to live by. For example, some churches say homosexuals will go to hell, that is true , but that verse that they ride on also list the adulterer , the alcoholic , thief's , murderer ect , all in the same paragraph. Must read everything into context. And you don't need a priest to talk to God for you, you can have your own personal relationship with Jesus. Catholic Church is like the pharisees.
Was fornication/premarital s3x added in by the Catholic Church to stop Jews from breeding more soldiers? If they’re scared to burn for having sex, they won’t do it. Right? What makes you married? Because I’ve heard the Gov came up with it. I know God made marriage. Adam & Eve were the first. What makes you married in the eyes of God? Sex? A promise? Deep Commitment?
I believe that in days gone by, in England, the Church did not hold weddings and they forbade you to hold a wedding on Church grounds. Some people who wanted to involve the church got married in the church's lych gate.
My guess is that as the power of the Catholic Church grew, they spotted that countries were forming alliances by marriage. Kings in one country would marry princesses from another to bind those countries together. The Church hierarchy would realise that if they controlled marriages then they could control the global alliances. Enter the Church's rules on who is allowed to be married to whom - and priests would need to get involved.
God is real.
His Son Jesus died for our sins and was resurrected on the third day for our justification.

May God lead you and shelter you.
Church marriage was invented by Church to keep some unholy registers at a time when Indulgences were also usual: Didn't Jesus bless the Cana wedding by offering them the best wine, instead of brandishing his whip at them like he did at the temple merchants?
Not commenting whether it‘s a sin or not. Only raising a thought:
If you‘re allready commited to each other, and live like a married couple: what keeps you from actually marrying?
Don‘t answer me, the question is for you, as is the answer.
Yes, this. You can do a private ceremony and then a public one when you can afford it.
When we were prepairing for our wedding in our parrish, the priest told us we already were married, and the Church’s role just consisted of blessing our Union. So yes, you are married because of your commitment, just make it blessed and official.
Having sex was considered “married”.

The Book of Enoch says the “Fallen Angels” committed the greatest sin. They blame us for it, though.
..."Enoch's Book" is an interesting read...
Wrong.
If you are in the army, you can have faith in your commander. But, if you do not do as he commands, you get your butt kicked.
Faith + 0 -= Court martial
Likewise, you can have faith in Jesus. But, again, if you do not do as He commands, there is no salvation awaiting you.
Faith + 0 = (I don't know! But, it's certainly not salvation).
...when you create a "world"...
...then you can make the rules...

Great thread.
yes, I believe it has.
why weren't all the Gospels preserved ?
why did the communists have book burning?
why do we have fragments of early Greek philosophers and not the whole text?
why were there just fragments of the Gospel of Thomas, Q, Mary, etc...?

The answer is kind of.
Different versions of the Old and New Testaments exist. However, most of the differences are a few words or verses altered or deleted here and there. Different versions of the OT give different ages for the patriarchs in the genealogies. Stuff like that. All extent manuscripts agree 98+% of the time; there’s no evidence that significant portions of scripture have been altered or deleted.

Yes ... You can start by chapter and verse, the use of exclamation points, comma's,hyphens, full colons.
For instance: Luke 23:43. Think no grammar is applied. Nothing. What meaning would you derive from this?
Enjoy!
