Every calendar I have ever seen is laid out Sunday to Saturday. Where is that one from?
I have read that the real sabbath is Saturday, but the Christians were pushed to use Sunday instead. I don't know if that is true, but it seems like something the evil would do.
No. You don't understand what the sabbath is. God rested on The 7th day. The Israelites created an earthly sabbath to emulated God sabbath to honor him and show they are his people. His sabbath is not theirs. Christians are born into christ and thus enter into God's sabbath not the sabbath of the Israelites. God works on all days as said by Jesus but God is not in sabbath. Therefore Christians are not in sabbath.
This error.
Christians are obligated to keep the 10 Commandments “.”
Sunday worship was instituted by Roman Catholicism, where their own writings acknowledge the true Sabbath (Saturday) and claim the power to change it. It is an attack on the Creator and Creation.
No amount of traditions or non-Biblical gyrations will change the word of God as He himself wrote in stone in Exodus.
Jesus (God incarnate) worshiped on Saturday. In fact He observed the Sabbath while in the grave He died on Friday afternoon (before sunset and the start of the Sabbath) then rested in the grave during the Sabbath and rose on the first day. And no his resurrection didn’t change it to Sunday because the disciples kept the Saturday sabbath as did the early Christian church for centuries until the ani-Christ system changed it.
In fact this beast system also eliminated a commandment regarding worship of idols, then split another to keep it at 10.
Look it up yourself, don’t take my word (or anyone’s word for that matter). Read KJV Exodus then compare with the Catholic version of the commandments.
This group is too smart to not seek out truth, but I’m ready for the down doots and … well you know.
it was obligatory for the nation of Israel, but not for Christians who live during this present age.
The 10 commandments are no longer obligatory?
9 of the 10 are stated in the NT but sabbath is not. There is several types of sabbath stated in the Bible. the sabbath we talk about was specifically for the Israelites. The one Jesus talked about is God's sabbath. We are part of God's sabbath not the Israelites.
Also, have you ever sinned, ever told a lie, ever stole even something tiny? Ever filled with anger over someone? Ever looked at a woman lustfully? These are all part of the 10 commandments. If you do any of these, you have broken the law, and you must pay the fine which is eternal death.
You are so focused on these things you are commanded to do but don't know why they were there in the first place or who they were for or why. Jesus, paid your fine, and you are now legally allowed to live. All you do is trust in christ, believe in him. If you trust him, and have faith in him, you will naturally try and emulate him and do good works. But works and following commands is not how you earn your way to heaven. You have already been granted entry. Not because you deserve it, but because God is good. Jesus died for you so you will have eternal life. This is the good news. It truely is Good news. Just trust in God, let Jesus christ be your guide and walk with him the best you can. Call upon him for help when you stumble. That's all. The truth is written on your heart remember? You already know him. He already knows you. But now, grow your relationship with him. Learn all you can. Talk to him.
Doesn't Paul explicitly state in Hebrews 4:
God does not rest from work on any day, he rested on the 7th day not every 7th day
I thought Sunday was observed as the sabbath because that's the day Christ rose from the grave, the 1st or 8th day of the week after 'resting' in the grave on the 7th day. 8 being the number of completion. My headcannon says this is why we have 2 day weekends. Saturday as the true sabbath, and Sunday in observance of Christ's resurrection. Just my 2 cents worth
You only got one down doot, and that was probably from the person trying to blow smoke up everyone's ass.
It makes you wonder why they would do that.
Thanks for putting up the facts. I didn't know the details, but when I read it, it had the ring of truth to it.
Seeking genuine the truth isn’t for everyone - including those who claim to be “truthers”
Anti-Jewish measure, I think, not to share the same day of rest as the Christ killers. But there are a bunch of culty "Christians" reverting to Jewish practice. Jesus gave the summary of the commandments, and He didn't care about what day of the week it was.
All you can do is accuse me of being in a cult. WOW okay, I hope you feel good about that “brother”.
Q: When did Christianity begin? Please be specific.
Isaiah
Nah. Christianity = Jesus.
Christianity began when Jesus was baptized and God the father spoke and acknowledged Him as his son.
Jesus began his ministry and gathered His disciples.
And during His approx 3 yr ministry He and his disciples kept the true Sabbath (Saturday). Do you deny this? Can you point out anywhere in the scriptures where God the Father or Jesus His son changed the Holy Sabbath (written in stone by God) to Sunday (the day of the sun)?
Of course. "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." Also, you're projecting a bit, I never argued for the Jewish Sabbath nor the Sunday version. I believe a day off each week is needed and that it probably can't be the same day for everybody. Someone still gotta cook for everyone, sry up and clean up afterwards. Critters need feeding too, and heck, emergencies don't care what day of the week it is. So then?
Saturday Saturn day Sabbath or Sun day Son day Sabbath?
This has nothing to do with anything.
European calendars. I don't think there is anything wrong with worshiping on Sunday. Praise God every day. But if you pay attention to the Easter story it is clear that Saturday is the sabbath. This changing the calendar is evil. The 7th Day Adventists seem pretty based about speaking out about evil like this.
These people…
GAW, you are sometimes a stiff-necked people. You are sometimes a headstrong people, when you need not be. I tell you, if you wanted to play a game of semantics, you should worship God on the first day of the week, not Sunday, though we speak of the same day, since you are giving credence to the European definition of yearly time vice God’s definition.
…
See, no one cares about this argument.
…
The same can be said about Easter (coming from the German word Dawn, with one weak tie to the goddess of fertility Eostre, in which the person who made the connection initially that everyone based it on said himself there was no evidence to this claim), which comes the Sunday (or 1st day) of the week after Passover, which floats around, since it’s based off lunar timeframe and prescribed in the Bible/ Leviticus, which is all based around God freeing Israel from Egypt, and God caused the Egyptians to even give their wealth to the Israelites for their long journey to the promised land.
The amount of foreshadowing to Jesus within the Passover context is astounding. Including the lamb, no broken bones, but the covering of blood, Jesus was stabbed, not one of his bones was broken, blood and water poured out, giving us coverage for our sins, and strength to make it through the wilderness.
The worshipping on Sunday stemmed from “the Way” found in the NT church where they celebrated the resurrection of Jesus instead of the end of creation. Throughout the Bible is found 2 covenants, a covenant of works which was given in Genesis 2, then the second covenant was found as early as Genesis 3, the covenant of grace. God gives a promise based on no merit.
The covenant of works ends at the resurrection of Jesus, for he had satisfied the law’s righteous demands. The second covenant will end at his second coming, when he makes all things new.
This change of covenant led to the change in the day of worship.
The importance of the 1st covenant ending, is that God's promise to bless was no longer tied to man’s ability to keep the commandments. The whole aspect changes, you do good works out of a thankful heart. This isn’t a new concept, for King David recognized it, as well as the minor prophets, yet that is now the main message, to live a life of thanksgiving for what Jesus had done, that’s why we obey, not for earthly blessings, though that may be a cause-effect that happens as a byproduct, but that is our command.
It does matter because it’s written by the hand of God Himself. Spinning it into a nothing burger is evil.
Sorry that is simply a fact.
The Creation in Genesis. It literally represents the creation, that’s why it matters fren. And the remembrance of the ACT of Creation by the Creator is the 4th Commandment written by Gods own finger.
People will deny or deflect this because (like normies) their false teachings are more important than God’s word. Sad but true.
I’m not trying to hurt anyone or be an asshole. Instead, just like we try to breakthrough to normies about the plan is similar (break through the lies of the deceiver). This is much mor important than Q, but I also have faith that Q and God are in sync.
If Q was out of line with the Bible, I would have nothing to do with it. There’s enough deception in the world. That’s what I like about this place. The value of truth is very high. But discovering the truth about this or that is a hard thing.
This or that meaning a news story or even someone’s story.
OK so where did the 7 day week (weak?) come from?
Time is weird
... you are aware that we don't use the same time system right? Different number of days etc. The point is, a faith in God, worship God trust in God. We don't earn our wat to heaven. So don't worry if what you are doing is on the wrong day.
Yes, faith, worship and trust in God… doesn’t change the point that we don’t use the same time system, number of days, and God only knows what else, because we’ve been lied to consistently.
I love the tradition and celebrations for Christmas and Easter as much as anyone else. But the harsh fact remains that those traditions and celebrations are based on pagan rituals — and I struggle with that because it is likely sinful.
Inconvenient truth, but still truth
That's partially false, many of the claims of rituals you say are pagan that Christians adopted are false. It's reversed. Many Christian holidays were taken and made pagan.
The more we ignore the lies, or pass them off as innocent or no big deal because we’re still worshipping God and our hearts are in the right place, the more we allow the lies to persist — making us complicit in furthering the lies for generations to come.
This is why we study history in context and with zeal. You say lies are persistent? Which ones specifically? And what nases are you using to determine what's a lie and what's the truth?
The very lies you previously acknowledged were nothing to worry about even though they are in fact the wrong days. C’mon
Unless you are an Israelite you have no business with keeping the sabbath of the Israelites. It was obligatory specifically for them.
well stated.
And the pagan rituals and myths are based on primitive astronomy. Read about astrotheology.
People remember stories better than numbers. How would you teach children about the cycles of the sun and moon?
I have come to the realization that we in fact cannot known if we celebrate anything on the "correct day" and that obsessing over that to the point where attitudes and words repel people from embracing faith, is not what Jesus prefers for us. Intention is everything. What is truly in your heart, you attitude, your words, at any given moment. People could pick any day in any season to be grateful for what God and his son did for us. Celebrate in a big or a small way. It reaches The Most High.
The cycles of the heavenly bodies often do not line up exactly. How many days per year. How many months per year? Neither are integers exactly, and why should they be? To make our calendars simpler?
Obsessing over the solar return of historic events as if it were a moral issue is most definitely a turn off. Its like a girlfriend who gets abusive when you forget the anniversary.
All true. As is the fact that Christ was likely born in September, not December 25, but it all got co-mingled with pagan Saturnalia. We “should” tie the crucifixion and resurrection with Passover, as Jesus was truly the Passover Lamb. Using historical texts to support the Bible, the crucifixion likely took place on a Wednesday that year, meaning the resurrection would have been just before sundown on Saturday. But let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water here. If we make “Easter Sunday” a dogmatic kind of thing, instead of a celebration of what God did for us, getting the exact day/date correct is the least of our concerns. The day itself isn’t the point if you don’t turn things into a ritualistic obligation.
One of the points made pretty clearly in the crucifixion story is that Jesus never claimed to be an earthly king. Jesus' whole mission was spiritual. The relationship we're to have is a spiritual one, the journey to live a better life, a spiritual one, and the rewards, also, are spiritual.
We spend a lot of time worrying about dogma, thinking we ought to do things exactly as they were done 2,000 years ago and recorded in a book. Islam does that. They wrote a book, declared it cannot be change, no further prophets will come to offer new insight, and that they should live exactly as a degenerate Bedouin raider who raped and pillaged and slaughtered his way across the Arabian peninsula 1,400 years ago. They call it Sharia. And patriots reject it at totally inconsistent with the US Constitution. We refuse to live under such rules. Dogma doesn't make a thing right. The fact that it was done that way a long time ago doesn't make a thing right. Christianity is not about replicating a 2,000 year old Roman-Jewish provincial experience.
Early church leaders understood this, and today, we have over 2 billion people on this planet who all profess Christ as their Lord and Savior. Christianity is the most widely followed religion in the world and there are thousands of denomination, variations in the precise dogmatic details of how we worship. But I'd argue that a Russian Orthodox Christian is every bit as sincere in his faith in Jesus, and his desire to live as God directs as a firebrand Southern Baptist preacher or a Catholic nun. Christ's message is a spiritual message. It's an aspirational message. "I know you're not perfect. You never will be. I'll die for your sins and take them upon me if you will try to live a good life. Pursue perfection knowing that you'll falter. Follow God's commandments and Christ's example as close as you can, and yours will be the Kingdom of Heaven."
I was raised Mormon and I have my issues with the Church, but the core message is the same, the core pursuit of Jesus' message transcends the mistakes of the faithful (or the unfaithful). You can argue with me, but that's the wisdom I think we're supposed to glean from this Bronze Age book about a carpenter that we hold so dearly. That's what I choose to celebrate today.
Luke 23: 52-56 lays out the timeline:
Wow.
Edit: BTW, Babylon = Talmud.
WHO CARES!
I can celebrate the resurrection of my Lord and Savior any day of the year. I don’t need anybody to tell me what day is not a good day to do that.
People like this are so insufferable.
It doesn’t matter what day it was, it happened! That’s all that matters. I am grateful.
Pretty sure God cares - particularly that there’s very little interest in seeking the truth of the matter.
We’re all fallible and we’re all sinners, and as I’ve stated above, I’m guilty of enjoying the traditions and celebrations for Christmas and Easter as well. But don’t brush off a desire for truth about something critically important as ”insufferable”.
The first half of the Bible is God caring about something very much, and then making that BEYOND CLEAR to his worshippers. Why then would He suddenly change philosophy and just watch disapprovingly over something that He would care about?
See the Flood, or Sodom and Gomorrha, or the entirety of 2nd Chronicles, or that time that God let the Israelites roam a desert for 40 years because of idol worship, or that time God had smitten a carriage driver for touching the Ark, or how He let the Babylonians enslave and conquer Israel.
" His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth” John 4.24
It's based on when passover is celebrated. The Jewish calendar is not the same as ours.
Apply some basic research.
that was really interesting, thanks🐸 and would explain why Q says 'ascend' if we're in a world based on Babylon.
Also would explain why, when we went to a rally,
we heard one of the top conservatives pronounce
the word 'conception' with an emphasis on the prefix -con-.
It was really noticable since he also made subtle hints that He knew about Q.
A lot of people back then worshiped Mythras the sun god. It could have been spillover or an attempt to pull them into the fold. It's a theory.
