This is the actual Miss Alabama pageant winner, she is skinny and blonde as you expect. She automatically goes to walk Miss USA.

What this plus size lady won is National American Miss (NAM) Alabama, which is a pay to play pageant where anyone can pay $700 and walk. Sara has competed two times before, this was her third and last year of eligibility.

Now that she won, she can compete at Nationals for NAM, but she needs a hefty sponsoship fee and also her travel, room and board, etc

But NAM Nationals is still pay to play and NOT Miss USA.
