Trump Vows to Shut Down Department of Education if Reelected — A Bold Move to Combat DEI, CRT, and Woke Sexual Content | The Gat...
In a fiery speech in Philadelphia this past Saturday, President Donald Trump vowed to completely shut down the Department of Education if he returns to the White House.
And, he's just getting started on closing down centralized agencies that should not be at the federal level. Can't wait!
Ditto
Long time ago, the Department of Education was a little back office attached (I think) to HEW or some other federal government agency. It did little and America had an excellent education system, mostly run by local boards and citizens.
When that office was elevated to a cabinet-level agency, you can track American education scores in literacy, mathematics, and other metrics in a steady decline ever since that agency was created. They have had their fingers in every school system in the nation and have ruined a once-great system.
A pox on the Dept. of Education, in fact a pox on ALL federal agencies. If they were all shuttered and the personnel fired, America might have a chance at greatness again. I would leave only one agency intact, the National Parks Administration, the rest have outlived their usefulness, if they ever WERE useful at all.
Take away their SWAT team though. Give them fire extinguishers.
What the hell does the NPA have a SWAT team for? Bigfoot attacks?
Conservative Campers.
You know, the kind that will take over a fire tower.
Add to that, in the obummer era, they order billions, with a B, rounds of ammunition for all of these departments. This is what drove the price thru the roof. The manufactures were prioritized on fed procurement orders. Still wondering what these small departments were / are doing with the huge amounts of rounds (way over the standards from previous years). Was it simply a way to reduce availability to the general public or to stock up for future brownshirt exercises (or both).

Keep the military, post office and national transportation/ highways maintenance. And Congress has to take back the coining of our money. They neglected their constitutional duty and shopped it out to an evil dynasty that's ripping us off and enslaving us. But I'd like to see Homeland Security, C_A and FEMA go away next. The health industry and its regulation needs to be reorganized too. Trump has so much work to do.
Maybe if he picks the right VP candidate, that person could carry on the mission for two more terms.
Like abortion, he wants to remand the Dept. Of Education back to the states. That’s fine but the blue states are comprised of the same leftist communists and will gladly take the power over your kids. The difference is Trump won’t use federal money to fund their woke agendas. That will be the excuse the left will use to raise state taxes. The only way to defang these marxists is to do to them what they want to do to police.. defund them. Take their money away.
We need the states to reduce the size and scope of their budgets to the same degree as Trump does to the federal goverment. Otherwise, these bastards will take every penny Trump saves us. If Trump reduces the federal goverment by 40% then the states should do the same and reduce their budget by 40%.
It's too exciting.
Great! Shut down CPS too while you are at it. Stop harassing parents with the threat of losing their children.
That's a biggie!
MAGA => Eliminate Dept of Education (aka Dept of indoctrination and dumb asses) and all Fed Gov Agencies
Make America Gifted Again
Can I upvote as many times as Georgia voters here??
If POTUS did nothing else, this would be a giant step toward MAGA.
They should name every abhorrent bill or appropriation something unambiguous - “Department of Education” (We Are Indroctinating Your Kids), “PATRIOT Act” (We Are Violating You In Every Crevice Of Your Life), “Roe v Wade” (“Your Tax Dollars Fund The Satantic Blood Sacrifices Of The Witches That Control You)
I approve this idea! 👏
How many employees are at the DOE? Probably a hundred or so. Yea, they all need to dust off their resumes. Hope they can still write because our kids can't thanks to their efforts.
4400 employees. Median salary is $115k a year.
...and save 68 billion dollars.
And how is he going to do that? I mean, what legal maneuvers does he have that will allow that?
He can't just wave a wand and poof!, it's gone.
Yes he can. The dept. of Education is part of the executive branch. Was only created 50 yrs. ago under democrat Jimmy Carter.
Ok, how exactly?
Are we talking about eliminating it in name or spirit, or actually getting the government out of education?
Because if it's just to eliminate the Department of Education as a cabinet level department, then all Congress has to do is vote to "abolish" the department, and then move people and funding around to different agencies in the state and federal level. Which will be one giant clusterfuck.
But to get the government out of education all together? I don't think it's possible. The President isn't a dictator. If Trump just decided he could get the government out of the educational system with an Executive Order (which I'm not sure is even legal), he's going to have a horrible time ever getting Congress to negotiate with him in the future.
It makes me wonder if Trump could just eliminate the Department of Education with an executive order, or anything similar, why didn't he do it his first term? He's been saying he was going to eliminate it back in 2016. Or any time since, for those who think he's secretly still the President?
And what would be stopping the next Democrat president (or Biden, for those who think he's really the President) from making Executive Orders to undo every single thing they could that Trump accomplished?
From everything I've read (and it's been a good bit), there is really no way for him to just eliminate the federal government from being involved with the education system.
But if there is one, please share. Because it would be really nice if it wasn't just all wishful thinking.
I'm not getting my hopes up until someone can point out a legal path he could take that would actually do all this.
PS, I'd love to see how the people who use the school system as free child care will cope with having to parent and educate their kids.
I don't think Trump would say he will do it if he can't do it. He is not getting government out of education, just the federal government. Education is supposed to be a state function and it has only gone downhill since Jimmy Carter created the Dept of Education.
I know people aren't going to like what I'm about to say, but frankly, Trump has promised to do many things he was ultimately unable to do.
Build a border wall between the United States and Mexico to curb illegal immigration, and have Mexico pay for it.
Repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) with a better healthcare plan.
Implement significant tax cuts, including cutting the corporate tax rate.
Renegotiate trade deals, including withdrawing from or renegotiating NAFTA and the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
Bring back manufacturing jobs to the United States.
Implement stricter immigration policies, including a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States.
Invest in infrastructure projects to create jobs and improve the country's infrastructure.
Strengthen the military and increase defense spending.
He was never capable of completing these promises.
Typically, when this is pointed out, people will come to his defense by saying Congress wouldn't work with him and blocked him from doing these things.
And that's exactly what we're talking about here. The promises he makes are impossible without support from Congress. He can't do it himself.
So why do you think he'll be able to get Congress to do what he wants this time? What has changed?
Edited to add: This is not an attack on President Trump. I'm not blaming him for any of the outcomes of those promises. But they did happen.
People really need to be a bit more realistic. I think there are too many people who are basing their expectations on things that simply can not happen. It's nothing but empty wishes.
I think this is why many people eventually turn away from Q. They keep getting their hopes up over and over again just to constantly be disappointed. There's only so much of that people can take before they just give up.
I'm not saying don't have hope. I'm saying, don't just think something will happen simply because you want it to. Be realistic in your hopes. Don't hope something will happen that legally can not happen. Do some basic research on it. Find out what the law is concerning what you're hoping for. Don't just believe everything you read that makes you feel good.
Earn that "elite research board" title.
Not to worry fren. He's just getting started. 1st term was exposure agenda. 2nd term is were we make America great again. Watch, pray and see what happens.
I think almost all of these institutions need to bombed to smithereens and rebuilt from scratch.
What a glorious day that will be Bones..

Yes, it is. 🫡
Department of Health and Human Services? Yea or nay?
Eliminate or reorg...what do you think?
Well, if we're serious about getting the federal government out of our lives, we need to eliminate it.
Shuffling things around and reorganizing is just going to end up with the same problems.
I agree... Government should uphold our Constitutional Rights & Protect our Sovereignty. The smaller the better.
Only way to do that and decapitate them is to cut off their funding. We know how much of a shit show that congressional spending is.
The issue is that Congress is in control of the budget. They then send it to the President, who can either sign it or veto it. The President can't decide where, or how much, money is spent.
This will constantly be the issue. Congress and the President have to work together. The Presidency is not a dictatorship. He can't just wave a wand and magically eliminate an entire department. He can't pick and choose where to spend money. He can either agree, and sign it, or he can veto it, and then Congress can vote to override the President's veto.
Unless Trump is certain Congress supports him, then he simply can not promise that these things will happen. And we see how Congress has acted in the past.
Good start!'
This is also an important vector for disabling the cradle to grave medical industrial complex. Think about it, no Department of Ed mandating compulsory vaccine schedules. An entire generation could escape the cancer jabs. We would see a massive decline in childhood autoimmune disorders. Finally, a large enough sample size to compare against the jibbyjabbers. Irrefutable evidence
Department of FEDucation
🪦
Love this so much!
Small step forward. The real step is only Constitutional federal agencies and no government involvement in education at all.

Department of Education ----- Jimmy Carter
I went to school before that ---- schools were much better then.
WE DON'T NEED NO FUCKING DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
