Now thats COOL! I did not think of it , as I live in Brazil, and set my VPN to the US allways, but yep! I just set it from Brazil to Brazil, and it works... THX Going to spread it
Please make sure to test your VPN for leaks before attempting to connect to X over VPN (just search for 'VPN Leak Test'). A misconfigured VPN can leak exposing your real IP address.
Also, make sure your VPN software supports a "kill switch". A kill switch will stop all network traffic should the VPN connection fail (which they sometimes do). If the VPN fails without a kill switch while accessing X, you could be unknowingly hammering on the firewall that's blocking X and your real IP address will be logged. Here are some tips on how to test that your kill switch is working.
You also need to be sure that the VPN company you are using won't fold under legal pressure from Voldemort. If they keep logs, there is a risk that they could turn them over if threatened with legal action.
Not trying to scare anyone away from using a VPN.. just understand the risks. I'm concerned that a lot of people in Brazil with little knowledge about VPNs will install a cheap/free VPN and think they are protected. Voldemort will be looking to make an example of anyone he can catch.
It is good to be aware of the weaknesses of a VPN, and that it is not perfect security.
Your post is informative enough to point people towards the correct path, although I also share your concerns that people will get VPNs that are either free or dirt cheap because they can't (and shouldn't have to!) afford or justify another monthly cost.
Up vote for "under legal pressure from Voldemort."
Thanks for the info. I don't know much at all about VPNs, just the basics.
This is Sage advice. Thanks for your contribution.
Can you tell us which VPN to use?
I use NordVPN and I’ve always liked it but usually the best VPN is one that doesn’t have to do any advertising. I’ll ask some security friends and get back to you in a couple hours.
Edit: Windscribe is what one recommended.
I hope ExpressVPN is a good one. It has a cost - I think &10 a month? I pay for a yearly around $65? I’ll have to go back and check. I use it because Dan Bongino recommends? I could be fooled by him though - don’t know who or what product to trust anymore :-(
ExpressVPN has been around since 2009 and looks pretty good. They claim not to keep logs of your connections. Their software also supports a kill switch.
Does it allow you to “set” it to Brazil?
I think Protonmail now has a VPN, it may be an option.
Cost is a good thing. Don’t trust any of the free ones
Be careful not to be tracked and prosecuted UK-style.
But yeah, I will set my VPN to brazil too!
Unconventional warfare indeed
This tactic wont trick skilled engineers for 2 reasons:
Your long total ping, minus the penultimate second to last ping distance from Brazil VPN 100% proves you are outside Brazil, and can be ignored entirely from unmasking. A Local brazilian though likewise would prudently select Chicago or Dallas to evade.
A special tap near the fully encrypted X exit point can be TRACED to a home final router ACROSS A VPN using new special seive companies. Really. Tor and VPN for $300 cost can be unmasked!!! :

MOSSAD's Candiru uses Cortex packet sieve via paying Team Cymru who uses it, See at the bottom of : https://archive.ph/kfYd2
TL/DR : OP tactic has very minor benefit, but more benefit if each Brazilian uses a far away VPN, that can also add random jitter delay, then transit.VPNs can't hide anyone in 2024 if someone pays $300
I guess governments only start using skilled labor when it comes time to oppress the citizenry.
Just thinking logically seem like the ping stats would need to be -avg ping time- across a rang of time. I mean any router could have a certain latency do to things other than the common carrier distance right?
Upvoted! Thanx for this valuable info, which sounds completely credible even though I'm not qualified to make that assessment :)
So as a VPN ignoramus may I ask, in your opinion what is the point in having VPN ?
That’s crazy, never heard of that
Can you use TOR in an iPhone? I use my phone exclusively except a MacAir for watching videos for exercise and such at home. 🤷♀️
I cant decide which i like better this or trolling the uk police....Both definitely both
I BEEN KNOIFED!!
Have we got traffic warden?
How can any Brazilian think Lula was a good choice after this bullshit?
It was a rigged fake election. I would be surprised if 25% in real votes went to Lula De Felon or his evil leader Darth Maul de Moreas
But, but what if you're extradited to be tried by Ming the Merciless (Flash Gordon reference).
Hawk people will save me
Be ungovernable. Kek!
Don't have a VPN but I love it,

Great Idea!
I’m new to vpn, what will this do by having people flood x by setting it to Brazil? D
If brazil bans X’s ip address so that brazilians cant access the web server (effectively black listed by the govt) using a brazil based vpn (with brazil ip) would restrict you from accessing X… that idea wont work… now using the vpn for day to day surfing that would work.
With a population of 212.6M, if only 1% of the people of Brazil did this that's still a huge number of I WILL NOT COMPLY!
Cyber Warfare.
Please keep us posted re: your efforts!!
Brilliant!
4 computers and 16 browsers running it on near mute, inevitably. A tad overboard, but when I do, I do.
Love it!
I got a bunch of spare computers and virtual infrastructure. Anyone know of a bot I can run to just browse and click around? Nothing malicious, just something to generate normal usage patterns. I can set that motherfucker up on a dozen boxes and raise a big ol' middle finger to the Brazilian government.
So, then the government just sees the VPN provider's server accessing it and takes action against them?
All your VPN are belong to us.
