Stick with a 1 tsp baking soda and water rinse. See if that neutralizes the odor without elevating your blood pressure. Plus it costs a lot cheaper. This is what people in the olden days used for almost everything. Including underarm deodorant, toothpaste, cleaner and deodorizing your clothes in the rinse water.
There are many "products" that don't put us in harms way. We use them every day. They grow in our gardens and produce delicious fruits, veggies and herbs!
I know of a family acquaintance, older lady now, she used mouth wash everyday for decades because she was anal about taking care of her teeth. She ended up getting mouth and throat cancer. Never smoked or used tobacco either. She survived but lost a good portion of her tongue and can no longer speak.
I would say 99% of products has some type of harmful ingredient. You can not avoid it. It’s in our food, clothes, medicines, appliances, toys etc. Almost anything you can make your self from scratch would be a better option. I grew up in Europe and after moving to the US my health went down hill and i suspect it’s due to the FDA and what chemicals are allowed to be used in products. Europe has much higher standards and safety regulations.
Try making your own! It’s main ingredients are coconut oil and baking soda, you can add other things like peppermint oil, salt, charcoal, and more
Worth a shot!
I use Dental Herb Company. They have both toothpaste and natural mouthwash with ess. oils. My holistic dentist did a test on various brands and found this one to be the most effective in killing bad germs which cause cavity and bad breath. I love it and my mouth feels so clean after using it. Another brand he tested that was good is Closys - but make sure to get the one that’s fluoride free.
I just switched all my products to all natural and stopped using mouth wash. Brands like Mrs. Meyers, Dr. Bronners, Seventh Generation, Burt's Bee, Badger. Switched all my soaps, deoderant, detergents, tooth paste, sunscreen, everything.
I had a bit of ED for years and within weeks I started feeling like a teenager again.
Baking soda to brush teeth with, and a little hydrogen peroxide to kill remaining bad bacteria. Our mouth is the dirtiest part of our body, even over the butt hole!
I'm torn on this one as I've been fighting periodontal and coronal artery disease which are interrelated. My BP is on the high side of normal. The bacteria in recessed gums can get into the blood stream and cause heart problems. And it could also be the 30 other unpronounceable ingredients in Listerine causing the problem as well.
Unfortunately, you’re right. And the sad part, many many products are designed to harm you or in multiple ways. Even something that should be safe and natural, like a piece of fruit could potentially be genetically altered and have pesticides on it. If you get a processed product flavoured with that fruit, it’s probably just a chemical concoction to mimic that flavour.
I do not use mouthwash and I have borderline high BP. My husband uses mouthwash and he has no BP problems. I guess we are the outliers in a study like this.
On a side note: Try and have a tablespoon of yogurt each morning. It will do your mouth and gut a world of good. Not sweetened or fruits added yogurt, but the strong Greek style yogurts which taste horrible lol.
Corsodyl, no fluoride and more effective at killing bacteria than listerine(don't really think it does much to the natural bacteria that your own body keeps and replenishes in your mouth as the active ingredient is clorohexidine, which is what is in the most commonly used wound clean/wash that isn't peroxide).
A few days after I nixed fluoride my mind and senses seemed sharper somehow, it was enough of a marked difference to be noticeable.
As a side bonus, when I used fluoride toothpaste I always got the 'whitening' kind because the abrasive or whatever in them made my teeth feel cleaner, so when I started using toothpaste without fluoride I got Biomed whitening.
Funny thing is, all that fluoride 'whitening' crap never did anything of the sort, a few weeks of using Biomed whitening my teeth got NOTICEABLY whiter.....
Biomed has hydroxyapatite in it, which is essentially what tooth enamels is made out of and it has been clinically proven to strengthen enamel, which is basically the whole argument used when it comes to fluoride usage..................
(have a feeling that it actually working and being a alternative to fluoride is the very reason why hydroxyapatite isn't to be found in any of the big-name toothpastes......)
Read the label. It says it kills some high percentage, but not 100%. Test it if you want. Use the mouthwash, then test your mouth a few hours later. You will find bacteria, plenty of them.
The issue isn't mouthwash per se. It's an issue of which mouthwash and which bacteria end up proliferating after you take out the majority of ones already there. This is a major problem. If you've got cavities, gingivitis, receding gums, or a bunch of other potential issues, a lot of that is caused by letting the wrong (fast-growing) bacteria take over and become prominent and then feeding them too well with ultra-processed foods and refined sugars which also supercharge their growth. The microbiome adapts to the pressures you put on it. Wipe out "good" bacteria in favor of the aggressive, fast-growing, sugar-eating, acid-spewing ones that wreck your teeth, and you'll get that.
Now, this guy mentions nitric oxide, which is not a theory I've ever heard, and I've certainly never read any paper that substantiates the claim he's making, but we know how this concept works in the gut, on the skin, in the vagina (this is where yeast infections and UTIs come from), and in the mouth. We need a healthy microbiome of bacteria. We're symbiotic creatures. But I will say this. I use mouthwash daily. I do not have hypertension. I'd like to see his study.
It really does come down to diet! And not brushing/rinsing with hydrogen peroxide after eating. All carbs give bacteria, good and bad, opportunity to flourish. If our mouths are cleaned after eating, most normal enzymes in our mouth that start the breakdown of food will kill all the rest of bad bacteria.
Purchase and mix together the following 3 ingredients:
Coconut oil (3 tablespoons)
Xylitol (1 teaspoon)
Tea tree oil (5-6 drops)
I typically make and mix a triple batch and keep in a glass container that is coverable. Coconut oil at room temperature is usually solid.
Use 1 teaspoon per day swishing it in your mouth for 6-7 minutes, then spit out into garbage, don’t swallow. Do this daily until the plaque is gone. Suggest making this a part of your daily routine.
If you remember the original Batman movie in 1989, it foreshadowed todays reality with many common products, by themselves, being fine, but certain combinations were deadly.
I believe we are seeing it come to life in this day and age.

And carnivore diet prevents plaque from even forming in the first place.
Amen.
You can also use a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide with water.
Yes, this is an excellent mouth rinse and it helps too when someone has a bad tooth.
Use natural charcoal to whiten your teeth and clean it.
There are many "products" that don't put us in harms way. We use them every day. They grow in our gardens and produce delicious fruits, veggies and herbs!
You got that totally right.

Horrible
I read that mouthwash was first invented to strip wax from floors. No thanks.
Yup! Listerine was originally an industrial grade floor cleaner.
Edit: and aspartame was originally a wood varnish
Shimmer, it's a floor wax and a dessert topping! 🤣

Think they knew back then? 🤔

Much concern over BPA in a water bottle. How much BPA in a Nike running suit? Crickets.
During the plandemic, I noticed that almost every single brand and type of mouthwash now had fluoride in it.
I found a toothpaste without fluoride and never use mouthwash

Try making your own! It’s main ingredients are coconut oil and baking soda, you can add other things like peppermint oil, salt, charcoal, and more Worth a shot!
And sea salt.
all sea salt contains microplastics
I can try this today!
Tom's used to be fluoride free. Not sure anymore. Weve been on luminuex products for awhile now.
Clean products are catching on but definitely expect to pay more. Not actually more if u look at bigger overall picture
I use David’s toothpaste
Tom's has regular and fluoride-free. I still buy their fluoride free one at Walmart

We switched to Hello brand from Colgate…so much better.
I use Kingfisher.
I use Moringa mineral rich fluoride free toothpaste that I get from crackazon. My dentist asks me what I do to keep me teeth and gums so healthy.
I just switched all my products to all natural and stopped using mouth wash. Brands like Mrs. Meyers, Dr. Bronners, Seventh Generation, Burt's Bee, Badger. Switched all my soaps, deoderant, detergents, tooth paste, sunscreen, everything.

I use hydrogen peroxide to kill all the germs in my mouth and then a dental probiotic to put the good bacteria back in. Seems to work pretty good...
Baking soda to brush teeth with, and a little hydrogen peroxide to kill remaining bad bacteria. Our mouth is the dirtiest part of our body, even over the butt hole!
I make my own mouthwash - Everclear, water, cinnamon, clove and tea tree oils.
But that everclear is still probably killing off most of the microbes in your mouth, the same as real mouthwash...

Have you tried Dr Bronner’s Peppermint mouthwash?
Also did you see the thread on clearing arteries?
YEP!
just now?
Well then you are starting to think.
I use Chlorine Dioxide. Best mouthwash I've ever used by far.
You can use it at night and wake up with NO morning breath. It is amazing.
True. And here is just one of the times they "told us"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cROY4m4Ftiw
Because they always have to tell us if they're poisoning us.
Here's an old example from my time:
Shimmer, it's a floor wax and a dessert topping.

They've been telling us for a long time!

All by plan.
lots of healthy products, and for mouthwash, try: https://www.healthrangerstore.com/products/colloidal-silver-mouthwash-cinnamon-12oz-354ml

Why buy a bunch of crap from the store or online all the time? It's totally stupid.
I never used it, herself does. I’m going to share this and flush that crap.
Thanks for the heads up.
How to remove dental plaque. This formula and process works well!

The word product is derived from Latin for the results of multiplication, which says much in itself.

Things are clear in a gun store. Most people understand which is the dangerous end. Simple.
