Love the story on 5, thank you for doing this each night!
Me, too!

I want to cry every time I hear Karen Carpenter's beautiful voice! Such a tragic waste..π
100%...probably one of the best voices ever...such richness to the quality of that beautiful voice...gone way too soon...πͺ
π
You can hear the pain in her songs. Her mom did that to her. She was never good as her brother according to her mom. At least he stuck by her and they seemed to have a good relationship. My granddaughter is almost two and we have played music from the start instead of kids music. She always calms down and goes to sleep when I play The Carpenters. I grew up on and still love those songs.
That's sweet! You never too young for great music!
Sheβs definitely got the music bug. If I turn on a video and sheβs not in the mood she says βall doneβ π Sheβs learned some sign language because her cousin has downs. She uses that one for everything.
How precious! She sounds super smart!
She is but Iβm kinda biased. Sheβs my first grandchild.
Wellβ¦start listening to Tori Hulub on YouTube. Itβs Karen all over agin!
Thank you for mentioning MAN! WOW...she had a gorgeous voice!

I told you so! She is unreal.
Yes...a great talent!
I love the Carpenters. Our loss is Heavens gain, Iβm sure her beautiful soul is singing with the angels.
Yes! βοΈπͺ½πΆπ
The 3 wise men gave gifts of Mihrr, Frankincense, and Gold.
I keep a bottle of Frankincense oil with me in the car, they smell good and it's just comforting. You can get it on amazon for $7
I use essential oils as a healing modality...I have hundreds of them and I love EO's. Frankincense is one of the top oils along with lavender for usefulness and blending with others oils. Everything blends well with these two oils...frankincense is from the Boswellia tree and there are 4 different varieties that vary for usage...fairly costly. I have very specific companies I buy from because there is a lot of iffy stuff out there. Frankincense is absolutely FANTASTIC...such a beautiful oil.
I love essential oils. Iβm just starting to get back into using them. I didnβt want to use them while my daughter was pregnant and the baby was small. She thought I was nuts for years and is now starting to use them.
Do you use a diffuser? Iβm interested but never tried other than passive diffuser. Thereβs so many different ones on the market I donβt know where to start.
Love frankincense but not lavender. I know itβs one of the best oils just canβt get past the scent. Donβt understand it but I love the scent of fresh or dried lavender.
Iβm getting more into plant based oils for my face and body. I donβt quite understand or can explain the difference. Other than itβs how they are processed. Plant oils are plants infused in oil for a certain amount of time. I buy a lot of these from people that forage and make the oils.
I diffuse during the day in the family room and during the night in the bedrooms. Truthfully I usually use NOW no oils in the diffuser rather than my more costly Young Living Oils. But I buy from several different reputable places. There are many different lavenders...Lavandula Angustifolia is the mildest. You can also dilute lavender with a carrier oil, which will cut down on the fragrance somewhat. Either a 1:1 ratio up to a 1:4 ratio (drops).
I will recommend a book that is pricey but is the basis of everything to do with oils. I make my own capsules, potions and I have made use of his information on EO safety. Pregnant women, babies and all age children and adults can benefit from essential oil usage...the key is SAFETY. This book has safety guidelines for all ages and lets you know which oils can be used safely at what age. My go to book...
Evidence-Based Essential Oil Therapy by Dr. Scott Johnson....maybe you can find it used...
I use NOW oils to diffuse, Young Living ( I can use internally), Original Swiss Aromatics sold by Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy (founded by Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt...a Ph.D in chemistry), Revive, Florihana sold by Healthy Traditions online and Plant Therapy where Dr. Tisserand consults and he wrote the definitive book on essential oil safety. There are some other good companies but you have to be VERY CAREFUL as there are a lot of oils that contain impurities. If you need any more info let me know.
Thanks for the info. Iβm sure at some point I might have a questionπ Iβm familiar with Dr. Tisserand and the Plant Therapy connection. Seems like he started an essential oil company and sold it. I used to follow lots related accounts. I forgot to mention before Aromaticβs International, I do love their oils and their blog is a great resource. I was using essential oils topically for pain. Iβm having more success with oils made from plants by infusing plants in oil for certain amount of time. I would love to grow my own plants and make the oils. Iβve found great people that forage the plants & make the oils. I buy body salves, oils & skin care from multiple people. I rarely use a large companyβs body products. I dabbled in making essential oil blends. Itβs not something I want to do right now. Iβm more interested in learning the properties and medicinal benefits of plants for skin and health. What old essential oils I have Iβm going to make room and potty spray for myself and friends. Maybe a winter project. I believe in aromatherapy! Maybe one day Iβll start diffusing in the house. I buy beeswax candles scented with essential oils and would like to get frankincense resin & palo santo ticks (Iβve got a candle & love it). My shampoo has palo santo oil in it. Those two are my favorite scents, I prefer woodsy scents to floral. I know how great lavender is, just canβt tolerate the scent. I keep the oil for emergencies like burns or scraps. I donβt get into taking essential oils internally. Itβs not something I can agree with. I donβt intend to argue about it. I believe itβs not very safe for companies like YL and doterra to promote this. If someone wants to ingest internally it should be under the guidance of an expert. Also, there oils are way over priced because they require membership. Thereβs plenty of research available online about these MLM (major level marketing) companies being fraudulent. Iβm not trying to bash your opinion. Iβm putting this here in case someone reads this and doesnβt know about buying essential oils. Basically they get the oils from the same place the other legit companies do but sell at an outrageous markup.
First let me correct an error I made. Robert Tisserand is a leading authority on aromatherapy but he is not a doctor. Secondly I am sure that you are aware that the plant infusions in oil are not considered as essential oils. It is a way to get the essence of the plant without the extraction methods necessary for essential oils. They are both very beneficial and the infusions are something you can do at home which makes a big difference. It would be great to make your own.
I agree with you 100% about the atrocious markup on goods in the multi-level companies. Just by way of becoming knowledgeable...I use references outside of YL for my internal oils protocols. I am not sure YL promotes it...it is a personal choice and I have no problem with it but I can respect your decision for you and your family not to use them internally. Actually oregano capsules are sold commercially and I have found them to work well. I use YL blends but get most of my single oils from other sources. Again...as long as your decisions are based on research it becomes whatever works for you. I am NOT a fan of multi-level companies but I do find many of their protocols such as the Raindrop Therapy Massages and the Emotional healing protocol to be very effective. I have been in it long enough to reap some benefits from it...but I am very careful what I order moneywise. It is obviously not for everyone.
I love to read and learn and I also use homeopathics but I have to say I LOVE the smell of the oils. It sounds like you are doing fine on your own...but I suggested the book for the safety protocols in it...I just found it to be very useful. Happy oiling!
I honestly didnβt know if he was a dr or not. Iβm familiar with his work and knowledge. I completely agree with everything. Learning is so much more important to me than when in school. If something is working for you (anyone) why change it!? Heck even if a person wants to spend more $$$ on something thatβs cool. I love the concept of different companies doing different blends that the other doesnβt have. I have two cbd essential oil blends from plant therapy and they donβt make it anymore. Guess cbd wasnβt profitable. I donβt care about cbd, itβs too expensive for me. But these oils are a God send for me. Especially the headache oil. It takes a headache away quickly and soothes sore muscles. After the new year Iβm going to email and request they sell blend with out cbd. They will probably give me the recipe. They are very good with customer service. Yes, Iβm aware plant infused oils are made differently than essential oils and are different. I get more pain relief from these oils either stand alone or made into salves. Also they are cheaper in the long run than essential oils if Iβm using topically. Those little pre blend roller bottles donβt go far. If I were to blend myself I have to buy multiple oils and carrier oil. In addition carrier oils go rancid and I donβt use them quickly enough. Then the whole process of sanitizing bottles for blendsπ€¦π»ββοΈ Iβd rather pay someone and get what works. Plus Iβm supporting independent businesses. Good chat π₯°
I love Frankincense oil itβs so therapeutic and itβs great for your skin. Be careful with oils on Amazon and Walmart. Seven dollars sounds too good to be true to real essential oils. Thereβs a lot of fake oils or diluted oils with a hint of the real oil. Could be diluted with alcohol or have fragrance oil. If you prefer to order on Amazon these brands are good and they do sell on Amazon: Plant Therapy, Now, Edenβs Garden, Revive, Aura Cacai, Rocky Mountain Oils, Plant Life. Some brands are better quality than others. Strangely Now is more expensive and itβs probably the lesser quality.
Actually NOW is a very reputable company and they have a wonderful in house testing of all their products. I only diffuse with these but have found them to be very good. I save my best oils for internal or blending recommendations from my go to book that I suggested. There is so much to learn about essential oils...I am still learning but it is lots of fun!
I agree with you about Now. Iβm familiar with them and have used supplements & some things in the food category. I havenβt used their essential oils. I rarely donβt use any essential oil unless I buy from a few brands because Iβve had such good customer service. I prefer to buy from smaller independent small businesses making plant oils. I havenβt bought any EOs in years, moving more to oils made from plants diffused in oil. I donβt diffuse in the house or make my blends anymore.
It sounds like you are having success with the infusions so you certainly don't want to mess with success!
Amen! Thankfully thereβs smart people out there that want to sell them. I donβt have room to store supplies to make tinctures, butters and salves. Also Iβm scatter brained especially with math which is needed in making all that.
Thanks for the list of brand names.. I'll check those out!
Your welcome. Iβm kinda (one of) the group non toxic brand name helper. I donβt mind at all. Wish we had a section to save info like this. Plant Therapy has a different sale each day from thanksgiving to Christmas and free shipping, first day is best sale. Edenβs garden has great carrier oils and in nice pump bottles. Keep in fridge if you arenβt using quickly, they will go rancid after a while, no preservatives. I like e garden but seem to find more blends at P therapy. The the others probably have sales I havenβt ordered in long time and just ordered yesterday from PT. PT has sale most holidays and anniversary sale in June or July.
I didn't know you have to keep in fridge.. how'd they do it back then in Israel since I'd think it's hotter there.. I might try the Eden's Garden and treat myself to a Christmas gift. Thanks again! :)
Itβs just carrier oils like coconut, olive, jojoba, hemp, castor, almond, etc. Those are just a few of the common oils. Basically any plant seed can be made into oils. These oils can be safely applied topically and wonβt burn you. Essential oils are classified as hot, warm, etc. Iβm sorry Iβm not educated enough to advise what oils are safe to apply topically with out a carrier.
Oils like lemongrass, tea tree and oregano are extremely hot. I learned that the hard way. Back when I was very new I put lemongrass on a wet washcloth and applied after bathing. You donβt make that mistake twice! It burned me like a sunburn. I believe lavender is the only oil that can be applied safely not mixed with carrier oils, donβt rely on me for this.
Also some oils are considered photosensitive and many will burn more easily if they get in the sun after using. Same as some prescription meds. I donβt have that issue with those oils meds. Sure, Iβll burn if out too long but donβt have issues with photosensitivity.
Great question how'd they do it back then in Israel since I'd think it's hotter there The oils brought by the wisemen, frankincense and myrrh are considered essential oils. They donβt go rancid. They could use their potency after a while. When an essential oil is considered expired it can still be used in room sprays etc, just doesnβt have aromatherapy capabilities. Again, Iβm far from an expert on essential oils. This week Iβll try to find some helpful websites. I know where to look just might take me a little while.
If you are going to order essential oils that arenβt blended with coconut (or other carrier oils) that will work for aromatherapy diffusing. You can get a nasal diffuser and put few drops on the cotton swab, each company sells them or you can order from Amazon. Thereβs lots of electric & car diffusers available as well. I havenβt researched those. Simple way is a few drops in palm of your hand (for some reason doesnβt burn the palm). Rub hands together and put your hands over nose. Take deep breaths. I do this a lot with frankincense or bergamot. Thereβs also table side diffusers made out of stone or volcanic rock, these are inexpensive. I keep cheaper oils in bathroom I get at TJ Maxx (rest of that chain). Put a few drops in toilet after I go or walk in after someone else stunk it upπ€¨ I donβt keep the regular bathroom spray, allergic.
When essential oils are blended with a carrier oil for topical application itβs done with a certain percentage of essential oil and the rest carrier. I think 3% is the amount you face application. I have a chart I keep on my fridge. Itβs from 3-10% depending on the usage. This is one reason I donβt blend my oils. I can figure out how to get a virus off a pc but canβt add simple math without calculator (can still screw up with it). If my husband is here he will help me. Bottom line if you arenβt safe with percentages blending it can be dangerous for topical application. Itβs not rocket science, more people probably do this in their homes than professionals. I just know my limits!
I think Edenβs Garden is 25% until the sales end. Plant Therapy has been doing a certain product line about half off and 15% off other items. Iβm not sure about the other companies. If you ever miss a sale google plant therapy coupon thereβs usually at least 10% online. Also plant therapy gives rewards you can apply to check out. Do a review, get a reward. If you shop a lot itβs worth taking the time to review.
aromatics.com has very good oils and some I donβt find elsewhere. Little more expensive, have certain oils on sale most always, offers rewards (not as good as plant therapy). I like that they use olive oil instead of coconut in blends. Especially if Iβm using on my face. Coconut dries me out. They have a great blog and recipes, also YouTube channel. You can learn a lot from them.
Hope that helps.
I love knowing the stories behind songs. Iβve seen Willie in concert twice and even very old he still had it, seven years ago. Iβm not a Willie fan, his music isnβt my style. Strangely I knew every word to every song. All those years in my grandparents car growing up with only (old school) country music. Country music gets a bad rap but the singer songwriters can sure tell a story.
Reading the Star of Bethlehem lyrics reminded me of last Christmas. I walked into my daughterβs house and my oldest grand boy (3 at the time) said Hey Suzye, which is what he calls me, look at my presents from Santa. I said hello Beautiful Star. He stopped completely, looked up at me and said βSuzye, Iβm not a star, Iβm Johnnyβ. π
Adorable! π

Family Holiday party last night - 5? Conservatives - 30+ liberals?
My husbandβs (large) family is wonderful. Some of the nicest people you will ever meet. But they are mostly liberal, thanks to most of the uncle/aunt generation working in the unions of the Miami -area aircraft industry years ago. (There once was a giant rift in the family due to one uncle being in Eastern Airlines management while 2 were in the union.)
No politics were talked at all. We were just genuinely glad to be together again for this tradition for the first time since before Covid. We have already lost 3/7 of the aunts/uncles and others are fading π’ My husband was so lucky to have an idyllic childhood growing up with this close-knit family alongside 15 cousins.
My suspicion is that the shots have aged many of them more rapidly. But they are in their 70s and 80s and mostly doing well. Husbandβs mother has advancing dementia as does one uncle. But who knows if it is from diet or the shots? We do know with husbandβs mother that it appeared after the second shot.
My most interesting conversation was with one of the youngest cousins from the grandchild generation (our kidsβ generation.) She has a very liberal mother that I infrequently engage with on FB and she went to school in OR, but is still in school due to missing 2 semesters due to illness. I was slow on the uptake but she had obviously shaved her head recently.
We started off talking about what she was doing. I hadnβt seen her since she was a baby since she lives in AK. Somehow we got onto the topic of holistic medicine, likely because she has been sick most of her life. She is now seeing a naturopath since Western medicine βhas failed herβ. This is huge as her mother is a nurse!
I told her how much Iβve learned about the importance of food and nutrition and urged her to keep going with the holistic medicine route. She also dropped that she is on SSRIs and is working to wean off them. I did drop RFK Jrβs name once and she immediately stiffened but didnβt say anything. I asked her if she had heard what he was saying about the food dyes and cleaning up our food supply (she hadnβt.) I said ignore his supposed anti-vaccine stance that youβve probably heard about for now but pay attention to what he is saying about cleaning up our food supply. He is onto something. (I figured the vaccine knowledge will follow as she goes on her holistic health journeyβ¦ plus, I canβt fight her motherβs influence at this point.)
I was really encouraged as I look back on our conversation. Here were two people so opposite in views politically, absolute strangers, but able to talk easily and connect over our health. To be fair, she had no idea I was conservative until much later in the evening as part of another quick conversation.
One person at a time. So far in my limited contact with new people (I live a life where I donβt bump up against new people often), Iβve gotten a black male millenial (many conversations with him as my massage therapist) to vote for Trump and Iβve had several conversations about food/health with other strangersβ¦
That was very kind of you to have a conversation with somebody and meet in the middle. I think you left a few red pills for her to take. Great job. And you did it in a loving way. ππππ
Nice to hear, I have similar situations with my beloved libtards.
One time it came down to who still trusts the MSM.....they mostly still do, but are starting to see the light (the 'gaslight' haha!)
Well done horsey! This is encouraging and I believe this is just the beginning of even more awakening...I have high hopes!

Thank you for adding this...they are so beautiful...can you imagine how unique the Star of Bethlehem was?
I think about that a lot, especially at Christmas π
Have you seen this film frens? u/Joys1Daughter
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Star_of_Bethlehem_(2007_film)
Thanks, no I haven't...but many years I went to a Christmas in the skies presentation at the Chicago planetarium that was really eye opening. It showed all the skies around the time of Jesus' birth and explained the Star of Bethlehem and it was just beautiful...that was WAY before Chicago went to the dogs. I will try to watch later today...you will be happy to know I am playing Mary Did You Know? for offeratory....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that song...truly a TOP Christmas song...
That sky show sounds amazing fren. I have been to the wonderful Adler Planterium (a LONG time ago).
Regarding "Mary Did You Know" - Heidi from Watch the Water posted this the other day:

It was amazing how the stars told their own story about the birth of Jesus...
Hello Friend π₯°π
Aloha fren x
Oh yes...love that song sooo much... powerful in it's simplicity β¨
No... I'm excited to know about it!! Thank you Kitty! It sounds fascinating! π
I bet.. God made everything so fascinating and He wants us to constantly figure things out and discover new things and witness his creations.. it's magnificent.
Cool video. Perhaps when zoomed in we are just seeing the coronal mass elections and that's why they look like that..... Or...?
Right? The amazing part is every star has a different pulse or pattern, like their own unique DNA. I have many theories and I think about them every night but too long to read and some theories are too far out. It's just amazing is all I can say.
Amazing! God's universe is stunning! β¨
Thanks for sharing. Love looking at the stars. Supposed to be very good meteor showers, including fire balls, now until Christmas. Waiting for the full moon to decrease to watch. My daughter saw a fire ball the other night on the way home. Iβve seen one but didnβt know what it was at the time.
Have a great day frens. Iβve reached my limit of being lazy. Full day ahead in the house. Going to start a Christmas music jam while I straighten up, box and start wrapping gifts and laundry. My husbandβs family has been sneaking in gag gifts for many years. Guess heβs tired of being the receiver, we have getting gag gifts at thrift stores. I believe after 36 years my devious sneaky mind has corrupted him. Heβs buying mugs with random names and giving them to family who donβt have these names. Heβs topped himself, found a mug with a little bull dog, βbiscuits grandmaβ for his mom. She doesnβt like dogs and the entire family doesnβt like cats expect us. His parents started this mess twenty years ago. Gave my BIL a bedside toilet one year, he always has to stop to go so it was funny. One year they gave him framed Obama pic. We may not agree on some subjects but we do have fun at get togethers and we respect each others different opinions.
Praying you have a great week and wishing you Godβs blessings.
ππ
I miss being able to wrap gifts for people.
Well if you lived near me you would have a job. Guess you could volunteer somewhere wrapping. I donβt know of any store that still wraps other than a local NC jewelry store. I enjoy giving gifts but my joy of wrapping has left the building, like Elvisπ When I was a teenager & first got married Iβd do fancy bows on every present. Somewhere along the way it was wrap & label. I got so bad today after several hours of wrapping I was still using the same roll of paper. It feel off the counter and itβs still on the floor. I pull it up, cut and drop. Itβs actually kinda functional. I donβt like the paper and trying to use it up, had it for years. Iβm making progress because I normally wrap on Christmas Eve. I do love the boxes under the tree. If I didnβt do gifts Iβd probably have empty boxes under the tree. Iβm about a third of the way done, resting with heating pad and hopefully do more tonight.
Sounds like you got the system down. Congratulations for doing a great job for your family.
Good morning all you beautiful anons.

So the drones.. is the going theory that they are military, scanning for radiation, due to a possible threat of a dirty bomb from the deep state, potentially to be detonated between now and inauguration on the east coast?
Could be. Could be just a military exercise to test the night vision capabilities in an urban setting. As in preparing to use them in war... Say in perhaps... the middle east?
i don't know anything about it, i usually tune out of these things for a few days if it's got a low buzz (no pun intended). But i do have some questions:
Has anyone used one of their own drones to get a closeup shot (hacked if need be)?
How long are these saying in flight for, what powers them?

Crikey! It's a bloody big Goanna!
Could these be sniffer drones for detecting nukes or something?
We are getting close!!! πΊπΈ
Would some musically inclined and talented person please make a spoof video using the Led Zeppelin song called "Communication Breakdown" but change the lyrics to say "Inauguration Breakdown" and modify the rest of the song's lyrics to make it even more funnier? If there are any talented people out there who want to run with that idea then please GO FOR IT!
Practically every other post has the word "drone" in the title....
It's like the extended version of the squirrel thing...π
When this happens, I think its the WHs using some distraction for something else they are doing.

Could someone recommend Christmas songs not written by Jews?
Wow I just searched your question and didnβt find anything. However I found the list of songs written by Jews.
