Reposting Essentially Same Content
ATTN: GA.W Users
Guys & gals, good vibes only, but the feed is getting jammed up with reposts of the same content. Even if you post out of excitement, I'd say it's polite to scan the feed and delete your post if you're not breaking news...... ♥️
Use that search bar, folks! It's there for a reason!
I love using it. I see old posts, read the comments and then decide if I will post. Plus I learn a lot from old posts.
Me too 👏👏👏 it’s cool to see the older posts, and add context
If you are posting from "news" websites, for example "The Gateway Pundit" or others, please copy and paste the title of their article as your post title. This is the easiest way to do a quick search and check for dupes.
If you come up with your own title, but you are linking to one of their articles, it is much harder to search for dupes.
If you feel the need to add your own spin on the article, instead of altering the title, just make a first comment on your own post.
Thank you all.

Yeah, the crowding out is really bad. I'm still flabbergasted that we aren't talking about President Trump's new cryptocurrency. This is literally going to replace the USD and become the world's backbone currency, and yet no one here seems to care. I made a post about it (linked below). There is a lot of important stuff going on, so maybe we can stop talking about liberal tears. We have more important things to talk about.

Nah Cash will always be king.
The Federal Reserve Note is not money.

I do expect silver and other resources to remain in use for exchange mediums though.
An interesting angle to think about is how much we have come to rely on corporate transfers of money. Credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, venmo, banking transfers, etc. The corporations facilitating those transfers are now beginning to use the info they get from these transactions to control us. We need to be pushing for these transfers to be handled by a neutral utility which does nothing but transfer.
Which is why Crypto is so great, especially when it is in the hands of someone we trust.
I don't trust anyone, much less someone with my money!
If you don't trust President Trump, then I don't know why you're even here.
deport > other > dupe (link if you can too)
I'd like to advocate for the idea of essentially 3 bands per 24 hours (one day), with the idea that many users and readers will mostly engage over such a period, and never more than two bands (16 hours).
In other words, after an 8-hour-ish period has passed, its not a dupe. It's a repost.
Living in a time zone significantly different to most GAW frogs, I often find that by the time I come on, a lot of action has taken place and been washed under the bridge. Sometimes it feels like you are always playing catch up. Recognition of different 'time bands' in a world where the whole planet cycles every 24 hours could have some benefits. imo.
Duping in close proximity (i.e. between 0 to 6/7 hours) does not add to the board, clutters it up. 'Duping' after this period has a good chance of bringing to attention frogs who have not been on for up to 16 hours...
I think a similar idea could be used for stickies. To my surprise, I noticed that some posts are stickied for a few hours, and then (it seems, when a particular mod comes on) they are all flushed. But other posts are stickied for 16-24 hours.
Of course, it depends on the value of the content, but I think its contradictory to sticky posts and then simply flush them a few hours later because some mod comes on and figures: "I'll flush all the stickies (regardless of how long the board has been able to view them)"
That's just a hypothesis of mine, based on observations, so possibly its not the case and something else is at play. But fwiw, those are my thoughts.
These are the reasons we all work togethe & do our best to help lift up on this board. Obvious shills deserve a shills exit, but lifting fellow pedes up & educating each other in brotherly love is where it is at.
Thank you for this great comment!
Honest bobbin. Name checks out.

Thank you for the lovely words fren!
Thank you very much!
It's an honour to here participating among such great frens!
There’s a lot to take in coming to a forum like this. So many super smart people, and sometimes emotions do run high. But we’re all working towards the greater good, and should be lifting fellow FRENS up, instead of tearing down. God bless you and your family and have a fantastic day. 🙏
Kek, this post got unstickied after a mere 3 hours. Kinda think its more worthy than that.
Not idea why it got unstickied. This is an important variety of post: posts that focus on improving board quality.
huh.
To this note, it strikes me as being good to cross-link dups and reposts for this exact purpose.
Hijack the first comment, make the note, and drive the traffic.
I’m sure people have seen me cross linking things as much as I can, for that exact purpose. Improve the linkages, associations, and references!
Deport is fren!
Well we have three versions of the plane crash story all pinned right now, so there’s that…
Any one of us could link the three together in a comment.
(Just thought of that. Think maybe in this instance I may follow through and do it myself.)
It would nice if there is a merge button to compile different feeds into one if it is same or similar or update of that news
We had five Colombia stories on the front page, two of them pinned. I reported four of them and nothing was done. Looks like the mods like it this way.
Bit of a leap.
one, how many mods are working at any one time?
two, what tasks must the current on duty mods attend to?
it's possible that at certain hours, there are multiple mods, and other hours only a lone mod keeping the ship running. (I am not privilege to the modding schedule, so I don't know, but I guess)
mods have to attend to multiple duties: checking the deport feed, checking the modmail, dealing with the board in general (keeping an eye on the posting feed, etc)
Remember ALL mods are volunteers who give their time to support our community. It doesn't mean they can do everything always all the time.
Just saying.
I’d say they are busy with all the handshake fed accounts that just popped up.
There's a notification when a post or comment you have reported has been addressed. At that point it's either removed or not, a mod has looked at it. I got all the notifications and the reported posts were still there so it's a policy issue. Mods have even made posts about not posting duplicates themselves so I'm left confused.
Hmmm... OK. I mean, if you get the notice that it's been addressed, then that does suggest or indicate the mod has either taken action or chosen not to.
Pretty sure its a judghment call. The mod has a lot of personal discretion as to whether he/she thinks a particular action should be taken: i.e. removal of duplicates - evaluating just how duplicate are they?
I think that the mod team have general outlines and guidelines in place, but there is a LOT of individual discretionary action. But don't quote me on that.
Aight it's late and I should be going to sleep but we bring this up all the time and we all know, except mabee handshakes, that we can deport and give reason. My thought is who cares. I do get sick of seeing the same thing repeated over and over but its the internet, I just scroll on. I do understand the clutter is annoying though. If I post something first and somebody else posts it after me and it takes off or gets bumped, I don't care. I really don't. If I post something that is already out there I delete it if I notice or it gets pointed out. Our mission is to share the info and send it out into the wild to the normies. I don't care how or who does it, as long as the info get distributed.
Also, search isn't that great, especially when frens create a title to give better description. I still don't know how to search on mobile but I never really use mobile unless something big is habbening while I'm out.
It hasn't been all that shilly in here lately (oddly) but repeated content removal seems like tedious busy work for mods, especially when the board is getting ransacked with shills and spam.
My 2 cents fwiw which aint much. Night frens!
The search bar is horrible.
Good call and something that has been continually encouraged lately. Let me suggest that IF the prepost search yields that it's not EXACTLY a repost, and the frog considering a post sees that there is indeed new info to add, said frog could consider adding that information in comments to an already existant post. This keeps the board cleaner and adds value to the discussions.
I agree, too many duplicate posts.
I don't come here as often as I would like anymore, but for what it's worth, I think the mods do a good job. You're always going to have reposts, it's the internet.
Not only that, but need to limit comments too so more of the important comments get seen... everyone posting "OMG that's crazy DEI" everywhere isn't doing anyone any good.
True, true, good call
Thank you Thank you.
I always search and attempt to find dups before posting.
US and Russian figure skaters were on the American Airlines flight. https://x.com/ElectionWiz/status/1884940969058980167
Search and sort by new and rising. We all want to get the content out but it's also important to give credit and support those who post first.
Here is a four instance…
I think it was yesterday there was a story about Trump sending 30,000 illegal aliens to Guantánamo Bay. I wanted to post a story, but I thought I should check first. So I went to search, typed in Guantánamo, and the most current post was six days ago. I thought to myself, that’s strange… I’m sure somebody’s posted about this already. So instead, I typed in GITMO and did a search that way. Not only was the story posted. It was a sticky. So that answered my question. No reason to post. Sometimes you have to do different word searches for the same topic to find out if it’s really been posted. Just a suggestion and an IRL incident to learn about posting.
