"Justin Trudeau just made a catastrophic miscalculation. His announcement of 25% tariffs on $30 billion of U.S. goods starting Tuesday, with another $125 billion in tariffs coming in 21 days, is economic suicide for Canada." (twitter.com)

"If Trudeau thinks he can push America around, he’s about to get a brutal lesson in reality. Trump won’t just match these tariffs—he’ll double them, likely hitting Canada with 50% tariffs that will devastate its already fragile economy.

The truth is simple: Canada needs the U.S. far more than the U.S. needs Canada. Trudeau’s virtue-signaling politics might play well for his leftist base, but they won’t keep Canadian businesses afloat when their biggest trading partner fights back. A full-blown trade war with the U.S. would cripple key Canadian industries, from agriculture to manufacturing, and send shockwaves through an economy already struggling under Trudeau’s disastrous leadership.

Under Trump, America had a leader who put its economy first, forcing so-called allies to trade fairly instead of freeloading off American prosperity. Trudeau, on the other hand, is playing with fire, and Canada will be the one getting burned. If he thinks this move will strengthen his position, he’s in for a rude awakening. Trump will make sure Canada feels the consequences. FAFO."

They seem to have forgotten to read the fine print in President Trump’s executive order;

“(d) Should Canada retaliate against the United States in response to this action through import duties on United States exports to Canada or similar measures, the President may increase or expand in scope the duties imposed under this order to ensure the efficacy of this action”

Season tickets have been through the roof for many years now thanks to players salaries.....

They should rebuild all pro sports into a pay per play salary structure, but we know that'll never happen...

For hockey: Games played, Goals, assists, overall points, GAA, Wins, bonuses for GW's, +/-, etc

Have a tier type base payment system that isn't so ridiculous to start each season, and then the players would need to go out and perform their best each game in order to rack up the real big bucks at the end of each season.

The big bonus check at the end if you will.

It'll keep the stars on their toes each game and give more incentives to the lesser skilled players to go out and overachieve.

Obviously injuries would need to have some type of a compensation package depending on the player.

And on a side note, if a player intentionally injures another player , that player is not only fined and given a certain amount of games suspension, but also cannot play until the injured player returns. And then the suspension begins.

The stars will still get their big bucks and perhaps even more per particular season if they have a monster season, but the next season maybe not so much.

The NFL, NBA and MLB are by far worse than the NHL in pro sports (in America) though...

It's insane and big reason why me and millions others don't watch like we used to.

Greed!

Now back to GAW....

Liberals can actually stay in power until NEXT October ( 2026 ) if they play their cards in a certain way. It's a horrid system up here. Doesn't matter if it's Trudope or not - the ones in line after him are WAY WAY WAY worse than Trudope, if you can believe that.

Despite what all of the Canadian news sites will tell you, most Canadians would actually welcome becoming part of the states - especially us Maritime provinces.

We've ( citizens ) been under duress for more than just Trudope's tirade. Harper was conservative, but had to clean up the massive, massive financial mess left by the 2 previous Liberal governments.

My FB and IG feeds are full of the lists of American products imported and their Canadian equivalent. Us citizens will just buy Canadian products - doesn't hurt us any . Who really gets hurt are the big businesses, and again, there's lists of companies that the tarrifs will apply to and we just won't buy from them either.

Don't think oil and gas, or electricity - we supply our own and export lots to you, no extra cost to us citizens. This hurts the Canadian governments coffers, not us citizens.

It seems like it’s all part of the plan to make every citizen in Canada dependent on the state. People won’t be able to afford anything so the sheep will be be begging this corrupt corporation to feed us, push UBI etc… Already seeing people fearing the “tariffs”. It’s just like the fearing during the plandemic.. I pray people would wake up, so sad up here in Canada.

Trudeau is burning down the house and using tarriffs as an excuse. This is a deliberate squeeze he is putting on canadians. Thisnis his FU to them for their dislike of him and his policies. He wants Canada to blame trump. This is going to backfire on him hard. Canada's leftist are going to sink on this.

Is it true that several northern states get 90% of their energy from Canada?

permalink save report block reply
▲ 4 ▼
– Mow-Lawn-Lah-Bay 4 points 1 year ago +4 / -0

https://www.cnn.com/2024/12/13/business/canadian-us-energy/index.html

Not sure about the %, but it would be short lived:

However, those problems would likely only be temporary, according to RJ Johnston, research director at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy.

“I don’t see much vulnerability for the US,” said Johnston.

He pointed to abundant electricity resources in the United States and the option to shift power to regions that need it.

“Even in an extended outage the US has the ability to add more generation capacity in a relatively short period of time,” Johnston said.

A big part of Michigans gas comes through the Line 5 Pipeline. Winter is probably not the best time to be figuring out alternatives and Ontario has been airing passive/aggressive commercials here in Michigan alluding to our friendly status and the large amounts of gas that we get from Ontario. I have no doubt this has all been war gamed by Trump and the Patriots though.

Personally, I have 3 fireplaces and two woodburners in my house. I have radiant heat in my basement floor, the kitchen and the bathrooms that run on geothermal heat pumps. This radiant heat is pretty much capable of heating the entire 3500 foot house on its own. I have about 1000 lbs of anthracite coal chips, 200 gallons of used motor oil with drippers for the woodburners, 60 acres of woods and several chain saws to supplement the 6 or 7 full cords already seasoned.

Many of my neighbors use either propane or heating oil and these alternatives are common in older housing. Almost all new construction is gas unless you are out in the farm country that surrounds me.

So bring it canucktards (not intended to insult the wonderful people of Canada as many in my family are Canadian, but an epithet directed towards the cabal lackeys).

War at all cost says the commander in chief of the NWO/globalist empire. Every totalitarian general will always ask their pawns to become kamikaze pilots. THE PEOPLE of Canada do not want to be rude to their government. It will become USA’s problem when we see nato setting up shop in the open and in Canada.

The people of Canada is the next move in my opinion. They are so worried about being rude to evil and in turn they will hate those who say anything like this.

In short though right now it is a Canada problem.

My understanding is all that Trump is asking Canada to do is simply stop the flow of illegals and drugs into this country. Before Trump was sworn in, Turdeau even visited Mar-A-Lago, and promised Trump Canada would start stepping up and enforcing their own border. Turdeau went back on his word and did nothing, so now the tariffs. Turdeau 100% owns this and brought it on Canada, not us.
